Sorry for the huge ass picture. I hate having my picture taken, but this was just a couple of months ago.

I was really happy when I saw Bad Brains. I've been looking for "Black Dots" to be reissued out on vinyl. I would like to be able to buy it without spending $40-$50. But alas this cruel world has plunged me into despair once again.

I feel ya. I just have recently upgraded. Despite what everyone says... I always kind of liked mine.

I just bought a few that I'm pretty happy about. -I was able to get my hand on every Adobe Homes vinyl release. -Andrew Jackson Jihad "People who can eat people..." -The Antlers "Hospice" ... the feels.

Same here man. I probably won't get it, but I'm interested to see how well that thing works out. It sounds like it will be very interesting. And don't worry about it bro. One of the best things (to me) about getting into this hobby is slowly building your setup. I just think that it's fun investigating different pieces of gear then upgrading when you get the chance. I personally get more enjoyment out of hearing my setup progressively get better as opposed to just going out one day and buying the best of everything. But this may be the poor college student in me talking, haha.

Man it has been so hot this summer over my way as well. But we've been getting so much rain this summer that the humidity is ridiculous. There is nothing worse that summer rains.

Yeah, I'm going to. I'm not faulting the label or anything. I'm completely satisfied with them. It was just surprising how dirty the thing was, haha.

Finally got mine in the mail today. I was not totally impressed by the shipping. The jacket was dented, the record was a bit warped (not too too bad), and it sounds like the dirtiest record ever. So much surface noise between songs it sounds like the stylus is being dragged across a brush at times. I have no idea what could be causing that. It couldn't be my stylus because it's the only record that does that. Other than the 'between songs thing' it sounds pretty good to me.

FIXED: I actually seem to have stumbled upon something that fixed the tonearm from slowly floating back to the rest. Someone told me to use a pencil eraser on the rubber part of the tonearm lift to give it traction. Seems to have stopped it quite well. So actually in retrospect this post was pointless. Oh well

Yeah, but that just doesn't make much sense to me. I can't see too many people just wandering into a funeral parlor off the street. It would be interesting to see how that is actually set up in the movie though.

Andrew Jackson Jihad - People who can eat people... I absolutely loved this album. I just can't seem to get into any of his other stuff (especially knife man).

My birthday is this Wednesday and my parents went in with me on a new Debut Carbon. So far I love it. But I'm having some issues with the anti-skate that I need some opinions on. The tonearm: when I place it above the record it slowly starts to move towards the rest. When I lower it onto the record it speeds up a little bit before it touches vinyl. While it causes no real issues it's really annoying. I've thrown around the idea of doing away with the anti-skate weight altogether. How necessary is it? Is it just like a piece of mind dangling from a hook? Any help will be greatly appreciated. EDIT: I have the weight on the 2nd grove. The first grove does the same thing as the second also.

So, would this be absolutely necessary with a turntable like the debut carbon and the like? Or would turntables like these be decently accurate right out of the box with the carts that they come with?

I have been wondering... How many of you on here use one of these? Is it essential with certain turntables as opposed to others? Is it something that is without a doubt a must have. For instance I have thrown around the idea of trying to get my hands on a Pro-Ject Carbon someday when I can afford it. Would a Force Gauge be absolutely necessary in addition with this table? I just haven't heard much discussion on this piece of equipment, and I'm quite curious..

Oh, well damn.

Okay, so I have a spending problem. I just started collecting vinyl a few weeks ago, and I just can't stop buying things.... does this hobby get any better on my bank account?
