  1. Today in History. 1993 - Michael Jordan scores 64 points but loses in overtime to Shaquile O'Neil and the Orlando Magic 128-124. ONeil had 26 points and 24 rebounds. To me, the good ole days of the NBA. Got to shake your head at anyone scoring over 50% of his teams points. I did not see the box score but have to believe he shot at least 40 times and got to the line for 20 freethrows.
  2. I have a MMF 5.1 black table ready to be relocated. Long story but bear with me. Over the last few years I had been searching for a high-end table at a good price and last spring I was able to track one down that caught my interest. On craigslist someone was offering a barely used MMF 5.1 for a firm $600. He stated the table in all original packaging had been sitting in his room, unused, since Christmas 2007 (about 5 years) and he simply did not want to buy records. He did his research and because this unit included the original Goldring 1012 GX ($450 retail) stylus he was not budging on his price. After e-mail contact, photos and having a little bit of extra money I decided to say “yes”. So after traveling to his house, that was so immaculately cleaned, I knew this guy was not going to be a problem. Brought the box home, watched the MMF setup video and I was all set. I cannot explain why but once you use this unit everything else seems like a kiddie toy. Then wouldn’t you know it but two weeks later another MMF 5.1E comes up on craigslist with slight damage for a great price. The next day I visit the consignment shop and the dust over is busted, arm holder is cracked and the unit shows light wear but this is a 5.1E with a Oroton Blue cartridge. Talk him down to $200 and leave very happy. Re-pack the new, clean and perfect black 5.1 in all original packaging after about 20 hours of use and one year later, here I am. So I have a lightly used, 30 hour or less, nearly perfect MMF 5.1 in original packaging ready to be sold for $600 + shipping (or you can pick it up for free). Everything is included and serial number on bottom is 000746. The box has the original shipping label from the Northhampton, MA store that received the table in 2007. Insured shipping will be approximately $60. Also will throw in a Music Hall cork mat ($35 value). Also willing to deal on this unit. My ebay id is “mac1vinyl” to check my feedback. Located in RI. Not my preference but I would be open to taking the Goldring 1012 GX cartridge off and sell the unit for less (send offer). Also willing to trade this for records. Send your offer. What about a lottery on this? Say 40 tickets at $20 or 20 tickets at $40. Attn: ajxd - you seem very smart on this type of situtation. Tell me what you think. Contact via PM or e-mail at [email protected]
  3. After 12 years on ebay with 1500+ rating doing about 50 sales per year, I always under-grade, describe any potential problems and use good photos in my descriptions. As a general rule: All new, sealed LP's and unplayed "perfect" records are listed as NM or better (my best grade). Light wear, played a few times always gets a VG+ or better. (second best grade). My biggest mistake is always assuming people have some common sense and know what they are buying. The opposite is reality. I do not leave or ask for feedback and have never given a negative feedback in spite of receiving records in bubble mailers and pizza boxes. The only "neutral" feedback I received was from selling an overseas order around Christmas. Just couldn't bring myself to stand in line for a hour at the Post Office and did not send the LP until after the New Year. Also sold a sealed NIN LP to a Canadian guy who said the record was warped and then used Paypal as a hammer to get half his money back. Instantly banned him and I couldn't leave any feedback to warn other sellers. So far I have about 18 people on my banned list, from taking too long to pay, family members and others who just ended up being a pain in the ass. I would much prefer to get a fair price on VC then worry about feedback. So far, so good.
  4. Wide range of items in no real order, most are pre-bay. Paypal only and send offers on multiple items. Minimum total is $20 for free shipping in the US, otherwise add $3 shipping. Photos can be sent by request. Prefer e-mail to [email protected] and PM works. Full money back guarantee, if you are unhappy with the purchase just send back and your money will be refunded as long as the condition has not changed (i.e. sealed lp's must be returned sealed). 5. Did anyone else catch Jack White on PBS last night? also streaming at PBS. The Peacocks (all-girl) version are incredible and I thought the show was fantastic. http://video.pbs.org/video/2318684130 Setlist: Freedom at 21 Dead Leaves and the Dirty Ground Missing Pieces Cannon/John the Revelator You Know That I Know Blunderbuss Love Interruption Hypocritical Kiss Screwdriver/Blue Blood Blues I’m Slowly Turning Into You Top Yourself We’re Going to Be Friends
  6. Yes to Harvey Milk - List has been updated as of 12/27/2012. Many more LP's will be added after the New Year.
  7. Some very interesting tidbits and information. Just not sure what is a fact, fantasy or being covered up? My #1.) Why did the first responders take 20 goddamn minutes to show up after receiving the call of someone shooting at the school? A fact noted by the CNN timeline.
  8. Do not know how long this will last but Amazon has the 4x LP for $36 PPD. http://www.amazon.com/gp/offer-listing/B005CK76ZA/ref=dp_olp_new?ie=UTF8&condition=new
  9. Shredding Leeds Live LP is up for pre-order. Love this girl. http://fullpsychorecords.bigcartel.com/ Full Psycho Records 1st release & Giant Drag putting out a fucking record again! 10. Again, sleeve is pretty beat up but the vinyl is VG. Just scored a spot at the Urban Vintage Bazaar this weekend in Providence as a record seller being held at Faunce Hall at Brown University. This will be posted to see if a special fan has some extra cash to walk out with this.
  11. Yes. That is the one I picked up for $5. Also has a WRTC-FM stamp on the sleeve, which means this was sent directly to the radio station. Wow. This is getting put away and will be going on ebay. Thanks for your help.
  12. Yesterday I found a first, first pressing promo for Bob Dylan self-titled. Original 6 eye label in MONO with promo stamps on the record lable and sleeve. The sleeve is in poor condition and barely held together at the edges. The vinyl has some surface marks but plays pretty good for a 50 year old release. The record itself states "nonbreakable" under the catalog number. Anyone know about this feature or bug? I am embarassed to say this was my first time hearing the record and this definitely put an uptick in my day. oh yea, $5.
  13. You and I simply have a different understanding of education. Bring the best down, lower the bar and then we will all be equal. That certainly was not the case (gulp) 30 years ago. The "smart" kids were in the same classes and the "shop" kids were in another. Education is now all about the public unions and testing as every penny goes towards salaray, healthcare and retirement costs.
  14. Although I am in the minority here and disappointed. Did the D's and R's just spend $2 Billion dollars and nothing changed except a few faces and name plates? The D's still have the WH and Senate while the R's still hold the House. Everything is exactly the same as yesterday. Oh well. I expect nothing but more "unexpected" results for the next 4 years to complete America's lost decade (2006-2016).
  15. Nate Silver's time is over and many people will be piling on unless the "comeback kid' pulls this one out. But I did see his interview with Charlie Rose the other night. The only thing that impressed me was his desire NOT to vote because he makes predictions. Seemed a little "off" most of the interview and takes him forever to merge the baseball analogy with predicting elections.
  16. Considering obama kept or expanded many of the bush foreign policies meant the two were not going to be far apart. Overall, the president was strong but came off as petty and (again) not ready for prime time. Almost over.
  17. After your long, boring rant all I can say is try different sources for your information and stay in Canada, thankfully you cannot vote in the US. Obama is the empy chair, he is way over his head and is surrounded by a group of amateurs. We are all paying for that mistake. The portion of the press that has not been hired by this administration is still protecting him and his tap dance on the Constitution is enough to get rid of him. Nothing he has touched has improved, nor has he even tried. Time for us to move on to another option. If Mitt fails, I will help throw him out and try someone else. We need someone who wants the job, not just the benefits. At least the press will go back to work if a Republican is elected.
  18. More encouraging news can be found here: SCIENCE: Updated election forecasting model still points to Romney win, University of Colorado study says.“According to their updated analysis, Romney is projected to receive 330 of the total 538 Electoral College votes. President Barack Obama is expected to receive 208 votes — down five votes from their initial prediction — and short of the 270 needed to win. The new forecast by political science professors Kenneth Bickers of CU-Boulder and Michael Berry of CU Denver is based on more recent economic data than their original Aug. 22 prediction. The model itself did not change.”
  19. shipped, updated, revised and added some new offerings. More to come.
  20. Agreed. You are in America's lost decade: 2006 - 2016. See if you can figure out the benchmarks marking the beginning and end.
  21. No, no, no. Facts do not matter and lots of people interpet so-called "facts" depending on the delivery. Perception is reality. Most argue like cavemen (or pundits): D good, R bad or vice versa.
  22. All prices are PPD in US. Paypal only and send offers on multiple items. Minimum total is $20 for free shipping. Photos can be sent by request. Prefer e-mail to [email protected] but PM works. 23. From experience and similar resume. When you and your old ballpaying friends turn 25 get together and try hitting a softball. Just seeing each other and hanging out with a few beers (win or lose) and playing for one hour can really make a day. This time of year the playoffs are wrapping up and there is no finer weather to be playing in than fall in new england. On a personal note, if you can use your strength and conditioning and learn to hit a softball (harder than you think) there will be plenty of opportunties, like playing at Disney' Wide World of Sports, to scratch any baseball itch. The beauty of hitting a line drive "gapper" never loses it's appeal, no matter how old you are or how many times you do it.
  24. Slow Pitch Softball about 3 nights a week in the summer and a couple of weekends. I would bet all the db's who quit the softball leagues ended up playing in your dodgeball games.
