  1. There is some sort of connection betweeen USPS and FedEX that has not been figured out. I believe the USPS may be the "finishers" on some packages shipped thru FedEX. Ebay shipping also offers FedEX now. There used to be FedEX boxes at the USPS but I believe they are really working together but cannot put my finger on the connection.
  2. After 7 days in SF my package tracking is on the move again. Hoping everything works out for delivery early next week.
  3. My 11/12 order says "fulfilled" and "paid" but the USPS tracking number leads to SF. Fingers still crossed but 45-day filing deadline is fast approaching.
  4. Some have the Mailer, that was used to send out the LP's, or box and tend to sell for more with the promo information. Wild price swings will vary by auction or BIN on ebay. I got one of the $40 copies on red vinyl, in an auction, that was in a standard gatefold with bar code slashed. And will make a great Christmas present.
  5. 7 days.?! Really. Media mail is at least 10-14 days plus more this time of year. Note: I just went thru the same exact thing on ebay as a seller on a package sent 9/1. The tracking info just disappeared from the web site by 10/1, the buyer said they didn't get the item, paypal and ebay took my money for a refund for the buyer. I lost all the way around, the single, the purchase price and the mailing cost (free ebay shipping). The MRC does nothing. Insurance, what a waste. They busted the $60 dustcover on a TT delivery that was insured and shipped Priority. I had to send another cover costing $60 + another $15 shipping. After filing a claim, on-line and by mail, got a non-negotiable check for $48 in 30 days.
  6. Same here on East Coast order. My tracking says exactly the same as above, "out for delivery in San Francisco, 94123".
  7. I used a $5 set of LED lights with switch and rechargeable batteries. Just makes the TT more fun to turn on. Here is the set of lights I used and what the switch looks like.
  8. HK 3390 Receiver. Bookshelf Speakers are Infinity 2000.1 and have a single Klipsch KF-26 in-between them. Tascam CD-RW900SL is in the middle. Bookshelf from Ikea. the only mod I have made is adding a $5 set of lights. My home office setup.
  9. Got my order last night. Black vinyl, solid sleeve with sticker.
  10. Beck - Midnight Vultures. Must have bought ($28) and sold ($40) about 5 copies over six months when Newbury had them a few years ago. For some unknown reason I sold my last copy of an album I thoroughly enjoy.
  11. The seller is very good. I have ordered plenty of imports (STP, Counting Crows, etc.) over the last few months with no problems. Many times I have ordered "used" and the LP comes sealed. But this b.s. from you Mii's has got to stop. The LP is not advertised as color but, because you can, on a hunch you want to check it out before deciding if you want to keep what you purchased. I have no idea who taught that this idea is the way business works. If you ever pulled this crap on me I would never sell to you again. And the VC no-sell list grows... Dave

  13. Although I do not remember that scene, that movie had a profound impact during my high school years. Must see.
  14. Here is my resolution from a case where the USPS lost the $40 single I sold and mailed First Class with tracking. Now USPS is the RECOMMENDED carrier for ebay and postage was purchase thru ebay. But apparently all sellers are recommended to buy signature confirmation, which probably does nothing to find a lost package. I lost the single and the payment ($80 value) with no recourse. The best the USPS could do is send me a MRC request form that has no instructions or log-in information. Comments: We received insufficient tracking info from you. You must provide tracking info in the Resolution Center before a case gets escalated. Note that tracking info includes the shipping carrier and an item tracking number that can be tracked online. If the item $amount$ or more, shipping with signature confirmation is required.
  15. 1. No. You are not protected, the buyer always wins. 2. Yes. The buyer always wins. example A: USPS loses your supremely packaged LP, with tracking, but without insurance. Just suddenly vanishes from the tracking system. You lose the LP, buyer gets money back, ebay gets fees. example: Manufacturing errors. Sending sealed LP's to the "new brand of collector" who then opens the record, doesn't like the shade of color, slight ding in the corner or there is a slight warp due to manufacturing packaging. Demands a full refund because the record is not perfect. You pay return shipping and now have a opened, slightly warped record to resell. Buyer washes hands, gets money back. You lose. Ebay is for buying. Need to look into discogs for selling.

  17. Locally, RI and Southeast MA, I have been to and now sell from the Dr. Oldies Record Show that happens twice a year. Next one is Sunday, October 27th. About two years ago I attended my first record show, there were maybe 35 dealers on 8' tables, and found nothing but classic and used older records for sale. After hours of fruitless digging I found a OG press of Siamese Dream for $40 and my only purchase for the day. A little disappointing for someone looking for new (anything after 1990) releases. So I decided to sell at the next show as there would be no competition on new, sealed and current LP's. Loaded up and brought all my new, limited color and out of print releases including Sub Pop, Polyvinyl, Southern Lord, Guided By Voices, etc... and most people just walked right by. A handful of people stop, go thru everything, realize my prices and product are pretty good, and buy a few records. I have grossed about $400 at each the three shows I was a dealer, table cost $35. Random thoughts: As a dealer I never know what to bring and lugging the LP's back and forth is not exactly easy. I always bring a couple of bins of punk, rock, 45's that are listed for $1-$3 bucks and hardly any have ever sold. Personally, if someone gave me a want list I would just throw it out, this is about digging and finding the LP you crave and not me giving it to you from a list. The venue at least gives me a chance to tell people about my record store at a friends consignment shop in East Providence, RI, that is stocked with a few hundred new, sealed LP's. The store, which I call Y2K Records, is stocked with classic reissues, HT exclusives, limited color vinyl and cheap, new releases. We sell about $150 worth of records, about 10 LP's, every month without any advertising. My biggest fault is I collect music I enjoy, which means I have much too much 90's music to sell.
  18. If the press covered Obama the way they’d cover a GOP President who did this kind of thing, he’d be toast. But they don’t, because they’re on his team. Just think of them as Dem operatives with bylines and you won’t go far wrong.
  19. Thanks. My MMF 5.1 has three transport screw holes that go all the way thru the two plinths. I will be able to stick one (or two) of those lights in from the bottom and fill the hole with light. Any "extra" lights will simply be underneath the table. Nice. Will post photos when complete.
  20. Anyone else made this mod? Posted on Needle Doctor page. i NEED to do this. Not much information given but must be some type of micro LED set of string lights. A light changing option, like the Ikea set, would be fantastic.
  21. Purchase 2 or more LP’s for free shipping, otherwise $3 US Media Mail. All LP’s are sealed and new except for a couple. Any questions, just ask. 22. Yep. Open to offer. Keep in mind I paid $100 and will not sell for a loss but not looking to double my money either, be reasonable. Off the top of my head the LP is lightly used, I never played the record, NM or better. Getting ready to put up lots of records for sale (here and ebay) and maybe this will get me moving to start picking out some gems. Preparing for a record show on 9/7 in East Providence, RI and will be going thru everything I have collected over the last ten years. Other Nirvana items include a black and/or green version of the Molly Lips split on Sub Pop. Have a ridiculous Southern Lord collection of sealed LP's (from '05 thru 2011) and welcome PM wants.
  23. As an owner of the 5.1, there is no music hall sized allen wrench included in the parts bag. The 2.2. manual is located at the link below and I (again) did not see any tool to "adjust the tonearm" or see any instructions to use an "allen key" for anything by Music Hall. With this table the only adjustment, after the cartridge, is a counter-weight that is required and adjustable. There are very few changes to be made with this turntable. What are you trying to do or fix? http://www.musichallaudio.com/manuals.php?c=2
