i know the dude has caught a lot of shit in the past (from myself, included) but i have to say jeff is a solid dude who runs the label practically by himself with some of the best young bands out there. he's always responded to my emails in a timely fashion explaining situations and comes through on his promises. i back him hard.

bruce is incredible. everyone should listen to his discography today. nebraska and born to run are absolutely amazing. not a fan of magic or working on a dream but i'm so fucking stoked to see him on 10/2 and 10/3!!

was always under the impression when referring to an album 'topping' another it generally means the album to top it came after. could be just me, though.

i'm doing the best i can with losing weight. i'm 250 lbs right now and i've just been feeling so shitty and noticed i'm ridiculously out of shape. so i've cut out fast food and started eating better. i'm exercising and whatnot (starting slow with brisk walking and will eventually get up to running full time) but it's just that i love alcohol too much. i'm so afraid that my love of beer is gonna fuck this all up hahaha. any suggestions?

i know i'm a bit late but man, i hope for nothing but the best for you. being with my girlfriend for 5 years now and reading what you're going/gone through it's my hope that something like this won't happen to me. can't say the fear isn't there, though. we're not even ready to be engaged and we've hit tiny 'luke warm' patches.

so i'm sitting here with a few friends drinking a few PBRs and just pulled out my vinyl collective 'do it with a vinyl collector' cozie and someone gave me a shitload of compliments on it. she also suggested i pick up some others to keep more than one person's beer cold. so show me some of your cozies and also rec's on where i can pick up some pretty sweet ones!

ordered this the day it was posted for pre-order (some time in may). i had just moved home from college for the summer. these things are just starting to ship today and i move back to school in a week. so it took the whole summer to release a 7" when a buddy's label has put out 3 LPs in the same amount of time. awesome. pre-orders really are for suckers.

but nick, it's not the fact that shit gets delayed. i understand that 99% of delays are unavoidable...it's the fact that for at least a month or more since i/others pre-ordered the vinyl there was ZERO communication between the label and its customers. no twitter update, no website update, nothing. THAT is the problem. it seems like updates on the situation were practically forced out of the guy. if i'm a customer of RFC, i trust that my money is going toward what i paid for. when it's taking so long to hear about the status of an order that contained a 7 inch and 3 CDs why should i, in my right mind, continue to purchase goods from him? it's sad because run for cover has some GREAT bands on its roster. this goes for ANY business out there. customer service SHOULD be your number one priority.

nope. still no 7" on my end even though it's been stated that all 7"s were being shipped 10 days ago. just checked the RFC website, and it says that the vinyl's been delayed AGAIN and those who pre-ordered the vinyl (i did so on MAY 23!!!) should get it before or after sound and fury which is august 4th. this thing was supposed to see a mid-june release! i usually have some patience when it comes to preorders and know that vinyl gets delayed but hell, if i hadn't been hounding this guy or seeking out updates i'd have thought he just walked away with over 30 bucks of my money. like i said earlier in this thread: i don't care about the fact that shit takes forever with run for cover - i'm a very patient (sometimes too patient) guy. what kills me is the lack of communication on his part, regardless of whether or not he's busy with other things in his life. it takes, what, 5 minutes at the MOST to write a blog post? minutes less to type a twitter update? keeping people in the know is key, ESPECIALLY in the modern age and even more so when doing mail order.

PLEASE do this! i ordered shit from RFC (1 7", 3 cds). emailed jeff after i had heard the shady business from the label and got a response a few weeks later saying there were delays with the 7" and orders would be shipped out real soon. 2 months later and i'm still waiting. part of me doesn't even want the order anymore. jeff: i get it - you're a 1 man show. that's pretty respectable in these times. but if you're gonna continue to sign bands with a ridiculous amount of hype surrounding them, put out their releases and people are going to continue to buy them, you need to work on your communication. keeping people in the dark until you get swamped with emails isn't the way to control the damage.
