  1. while dehydration is a major cause for a hangover, your body also gets depleted of vitamin B. unless your drinking unfiltered, unpasteurized beer. starch is a great way to get over it, I would steer clear of grease since that would actually take a bit to digest, DRINK WATER AND TAKE A VITAMIN. works for me everytime
  2. i would say that if you didn't know the story that this movie would have been confusing, the kind of thing that makes you watch it again, but for anyone of us who did read it, i think they made the movie nearly the same as the book, granted i knew about the omission of the pirate ship and lack of the kid reading the comic book, but comon, there were scenes that were the actual frames from the comic. If your unsatisfied with this movie when it comes to the integrity of story being told, i guess the only thing that will make you happy is your own imagination. I feel they did a really good job at telling a story that doesn't accomidate the norm as far as hollywood stories go. B+ didn't mind paying to see it, which is rare for me, but read the book first
  3. 16. with someone i "loved". nothing awesome or cool, way to short, it was a bloody mess(her first time as well). wait.... o shit, it was on the stroke of midnight on new years eve! ha. that was pretty cool... for high school at least.
  4. when i first moved to brooklyn i lived with 4 other people and 2 dogs in a 3 bedroom. now i only have two roomates! in this town, i feel like thats a triumph. I HAVE NO IDEA how people live alone here. down in bay ridge your still looking at a ridiculous rent for a single bedroom. but hey. we get to see every show!(mostly) just last week i saw revival twice and nofx twice. not so bad! not so bad at all.
  5. ha! i was gonna post a set list to! unfortunately shifting through my memory seems tough. when i post.. i pretend that im in a conversation with you guys
  6. saw this guy jump at the show.... TWICE! and get away with it! then some other gentle man tired it. but he did a dance before his leep from the storage area to the left of the stage, only to have some spiderman type security guard first grab him... THEN THROW HIM INTO THE CROWD! thats funny to me. now. the whole balcony jumping topic is weird to me. I've had a friend put into the hospital due to this, my old bass player really fucked up his neck due to a similar situtation. its not cool at all..... but its still cool at the same time. i enjoy that feeling when it happens, but all the same, im not seeing this happen at a smaller place where the drop is much less significant. The danger that accompanied shows used to be part of it. but these types of jumps are simply damaging to EVERYONE involved. then again... i sit back in the balcony like some "overaged alcholic" or whatever he said i kinda feel like the most punk thing i saw this night was mike falling of stage and taking out his mic. OOOO MAN! it was this wonderful spin(he was drunk beyond his norm in ny) that the thought he pulled off then whoops! off the stage he goes. mic stand included. BEST PART OF THE NIGHT.
  7. haha! well paid men write their shit! that was well done. its funny to see these guys acknowledge the media around them with jest. i spend way to much time laughing at this kind of shit anyway. actually gonna show these to my roommates. kinda think mccain killed it. seems fitting. obama laughing at his own jokes reminds me of myself stuck at some bar in williamsburg. good times. thanks for getting those.
  8. ahhhhh skycamefalling. those were lovely times on longisland, right when to forever came out... soo nuts.... then so bad, then worse, then boring, then done. Still loved that band, i think i still have a few patches at my parents house
  9. when you first start.. hover.... but once they realize your not a perv, just open door is fine, and ya know, like.. don't be all close and into the girls flirting with ya, once you go through some of this shit, you realize how to simply act appropriatly (or at least by their definition) and everything goes smooth, i have personally developed an entire older brother personality while im work. its 90% me, but just mildly censored (they know im so far in outerspace on the political spectrum that they just smile at me and don't bother asking) and "role model like" . o yeah... ASK TO GET INVOLVED WHEN YOU OBSERVE. it will make it worth your while and less boring
  10. ahh this is fantastic.. i brew my own as well. kegging system to, one of the best hobbies i've ever gotten into (im gonna say second to music). i suggest everyone give it a try, great excuse to drink and relax and its pretty damn cheap for my favorites, i have to say that seaonally speaking, im real into octoberfest(weird right?) its a cross between becks and brooklyn okt right now, but im just switching over from my summertime fun of hefeweisenwheatwhitetrippeldouble fun! Have any of you actually had authentic oktoberfest beer in munich? im glancing over at that dude who studied there. Man, that was the best beer i have ever tasted. I still feel like ive been to heaven and forgot how i got there. damn. gotta go back you chocolate stout fellas, i think your nailling it with youngs, espeically for accessability, but if you ever get a chance and find sam adams chocolate bock it is a MUST! to expensive, but to delicious. and thats coming from who does not drink sammy, kinda feel like it tastes like tart vag. guiness friends... please try beamish, then go to ireland. we drink the worst possible version of this type of beer, the cans are ok, tap the best of course, but only a brand new keg that was just delivered is anything close to an homage to what that tastes like overthere. well thats enough! lets enjoy beer! whatever you drink
  11. yea, there have been a few people that ive known (not very closely, we have over 300 teachers in my school) that have had experiences with that place. Basically if there is any charge brought up against you (founded or not!) you go there for your working schedule. you sit there and do nothing. its purpose is to keep dangerous people away from children. Heres the thing, if you got some molester its great, they don't have a chance to hurt anyone else(backed 1000 %) but if some young misguided girl (thats the PC way of saying young cunt) doesn't like...the amount of attention you do/don't give her, her grade, your rules, your personality, her parents etc... you have to deal with a great amount of shit to keep your job. remember, what do you really think people are gonna think when you disappear to the rubber room? your innocent? yeah right. so yeah. the rule around this is never, ever, ever be alone with a kid or close the door to you room. I've actually called people into my room just so nothing like this could happen
  12. haha, yeah, ain't that funny? i recall things being more difficult when i was in school, but isn't that so typical to think? oo man, you haven't done your student teaching yet? im so sorry man... im serious too, that was the worst time in my life. its fucking slave labor! But, i was well prepared for the real thing after. good luck! let me know if ya need any help bro, but judging by my writing, i hope you can take that im no english(or history) teacher.
  13. yo man, fuck xmen.. that game is to hard! way way to hard man, its taken up so many of my damn sundays just trying to get through like one section with wolvie, then whoops your out of continues, life sucks! golden axe 2 is incredible. also if any of you haven't, check out the contra hardcorps for sega, lots of different endings and still very good gameplay. im surprised with the lack of kart references here.. im gonna say one of the best multiplayer games ever. also... montana 1 for genesis, its to the point where i wont play this due tothe incredible level of performance my roomates are at
  14. not gonna dork out on this album to much, but i would put process in my top three BR albums. and listen von... ive been training for years for a bad religion battle with you... i know your my master, and I know you still got me in to many ways... but the day is coming.... i might have to be in my alternate ego to accomplish this. BUT I WILL OWN YOU ON BAD RELIGION
  15. sorry barrie, but im in nomenclature overload after the last few weeks(150 new kids, plus all those pesky old ones). spelling has left me. I was thinking about making this jump at hotwater... then i realized how incredibly unathletic i can tend to be... stage diving without a full 30 meter sprint is only gonna end up with me WAY to close to those big bouncer dudes, and ill probably be on the wrong side of the barricade. and yo von... toms little brother is coming (its his first soia show!) and its his bday! u should come back to bk afterwards and celebrate... eh eh? nudge nudge?
  16. wow, i to was forced into religion for most of my life. wonder if that has caused any issue with tight collars and beaded necklaces. hey yo, mcm1610, for the most part the response of high school students is very very straight forward, write down what you read type stuff. Did you check out the NYS english regents this year? only towards the end of junior/senior year do they start engaging in opinion/discussion. or at least that's all i've seen from my experience.
  17. so, me and my roomates love these systems way to much, but im finding myself up against a wall here with awesome games, we got most of the classics but i want to know your favorites.
  18. im gonna "rule" all over you face at this show... friday is so close! and yo, barry, we will figure something out, even from the bar area was no good? i do not understand how this show is gonna be at terminal 5, neither band has a new album out, soia has been playing around here alittle, and well... this place is HUGE. whatever, shorter lines at the bar = more yelling at greg.... ahhh the souls
  19. ok ok... everytime i hear/see matt damon, i always think of team america.... "matt damon" mwahahahhahahah FANTASTIC however onto palin. it is completely inconceivable to have someone like this in a position of power. bush has screwed the pouch so thoroughly that the checks necessary to control some mind freak like this have been completely eroded. Big bother has grown far to large, and some bitch whos all down with censorship is gonna be in power!??!!? what?!?!? what gives her the right to try and ban books, shes a hockey mom? what the fuck! i moved out of long island to get away from people like this(longisland = soccer moms = same shit as a hockey moms) they will drive through your ass to get their fucking despicable kid to their pointless game. these people should be castrated, not elected(i know im exaggerating but still). Just think at the lovely loud speaker she will have to tell us what life is like, or what she wants life to be! tiper gore wasn't anywhere as powerful as a vice president, and look at the lovely movement she empowered..... man.... all these poor people suck... what the best way to deal with it?.... EDIT! brown people seem to suck to, black people are even worse... bye bye! problem solved. There is no way a person who doesn't understand fully evolution should be office. the modern biological environment has become increasingly sensitive... from overpopulation to the resistance that is developing in all feilds of life, needs some real minds behind it. not my old neighbor who would argue with me that god made humans so evolution is wrong. i know being a high school science teacher makes me a mad scientist who just wants to be god, and that i will destroy Him to get there, but comon.... your not serious right? i know obama has serious weaknesses, but macain ain't gonna last forever( or it sure as hell doesn't seem that way, any one else remember in 00? when he had personality and was kinda ballzy about shit.) they are to many things going wrong in this place. we all see them, wherever you live.. can't risk it going this way, into another social explosion or regression into direct oppression. sorry, kinda haven't been able to explain my view to anyone in awhile, hope ya all dont mind brooklyn what!
  20. my band wrote one... http://www.myspace.com/stayalivemusic its the one called VINYL FOR MY FRIENDS. you guys got any others out there?
  21. yo, sick of it all is gonna kill it. and having older kids at a souls show just makes it seem.... alittle reminiscent of yesteryear. looking forward to new songs from the souls.... dancing with vinny, and drinking till i cant see... gonna be a great time! ps. grey area will be a great opener, even though its gonna be just like all the other grey area sets are for me..... WHEN ARE THEY GONNA PLAY TAKE MY CHANCES?!
  22. man, i back epitaph... it has put out more great music than.... than..... what the fuck man, alot... and nfg fans aint 14 anymore, they are 18(ha) let them get their records and give their money to someone who has had an independant mindset and knows good music. and how many 40 year old guys still listen to stuff that makes you or me happy? i dunno, who cares, i just want him to sign my band.. if only i could promise multiple thousands of records sold. damn!
  23. shut up von.... and yes, im finally done only reading this board, i am adventuring into sharing of my opinion with all of you (you lucky people). as far as kyi is concerned. the kids on li love that stuff. it s nice to see all these people know that song. some of us show goers that grew up on LI saw them play that all... all... all... to often(not a slight). its fun to see young ones enjoy it. BUT i feel a sense of frustration when i don't see that response to the other capital songs... especially the ones where they bring the ROCK. but hey, skanking just seems weird now... fuck... im done... couldn't deal with reality today and went to the beach after work... then started drinking... then onto other fun.... ps... i love vinyl
  24. capital cleaned it up at this show... came late due to traffic from brooklyn and only saw capital and cis. cis played well to... good to see them playing a relatively nice sized show on long island again
