  3. Has anyone seen any preorders for the Pinback album and the Dinosaur Jr. 7"box anywhere? Im currently in China and would like to order online so i dont miss these!
  4. I went last year, mind you i went at 9pm, and I was able to get everything I wanted and there were not many people there. If your not after anything super rare, I would go late in the night. Durring the day hit up Permenent, Gimmie Gimmie, Vacation, Mount Analog, and Origami and it MAY be a little more civilized and they are all pretty close to eachother so you can easily hit them all in the day
  5. I LOVE Robotic Empire! By far my favorite online store to order from! The prices are always amazing and they have always included lots of great extras in my orders. Thank you for all the amazing releases you have done and all the amazing bands you continue to work with and help make their music a beautiful tangeble thing! Thank You!! On a side note, I have run an online store for 10 years. Just as anything else to do with computers and the internet, sometimes malfunctions and glitches happen. Just about every kind of fuck up that can happen with an online store has happened to me in those 10 years. When they do happen, they are not the fault of the company and thus the company does not "owe" the customer anything extra. Sometimes companies do give a discount because they can afford to, but in no way does that mean that you as the customer are entitled to one. When you are a small business (yes Robotic Empire is a small business) EVERY dollar counts and sometimes you can not afford to be giving away discounts and $0.99 cds when something out of your control happens. They fact that the money was refunded WITH an explination, no matter how nice or mean it may have been, puts Robo above many of the other companies doing business online. Without these small businesses like Robotic Empire, there are no Torche records, there are no Floor CD's, there are no small bands spinning on your turntable. They make the music we love happen and you should praise them and thank them for that, not get mad when they are un able to sell you something for less than the cost of a chocolate bar.
  6. Grabbed a copy of this, the new Emma Ruth Rundle! So stoked for both of these!

  10. Has anyone heard anymore information about Pinback s/t regarding the price, qty. or color?
  11. Agree! I would love copies of Kid-A and Amnesiac by Radiohead but don't want double 10" versions!
  12. Yess!! There is no way they will just do a CD version of this in todays market. It would be a total waste of time and money considering the plummeting sale of CDs. I can't wait for the PO of this vinyl!!
  13. Im really digging the artwork! has a Fucked Up Year of the... vibe to it, and a little bit of where the wild things are. It doesnt go with any of Horsebacks past releases, but still loving it!!
  14. Been waiting a while for this to come out! On the site it says mid 2014 as a release date. Im hoping it will be on itunes for I will be living out of north america then
  15. New Horseback record up for preorder! Can't wait for this one to come out! http://www.threelobed.com/tlr/tlr096.html “i was born to lose; i won’t have this form forever.” so begins horseback’s fifth full-length studio record, piedmont apocrypha, with an incantation that could very well serve as the shapeshifting band’s raison d'être. since before 2007, horseback has served as a musical vehicle for multi-instrumentalist jenks miller (also of mount moriah and various solo outfits), chronicling his prolific, exuberant, and at times altogether whimsical investigation of heavy music(s) and their relationship with western mysticism. thus far, horseback has embodied (and shed) many forms, from the serene, fuzzed-out, near neo-classical bliss of impale golden horn, to the caustic, poisoned noisescapes of forbidden planet, to the crushing psych-rock (black metal? you tell us!) found on the invisible mountain and half blood. while genre tags are difficult with shape-shifting bands like horseback, some common threads are readily apparent across each of these records: regardless of the style, there’s some otherworldly, hypnotic quality in the music, conjured by ritualistic repetition and a layered depth in the instrumental arrangements. and each record demonstrates an unmistakable internal logic, its own a self-contained universe of sound. some have referred to horseback records as riddles to be solved: once you crack the code, that sonic universe is yours to explore. musically, piedmont apocrypha gestures to the pastoral hues of impale golden horn (released on vinyl by three lobed recordings for the first time in 2012), but there’s a structured quality to the tracks here that fits in line with horseback’s “rock” records. make no mistake: this is a heavy record, but in the way comus’first utterance is heavy, or in the way amon düül’s phallus dei is heavy. it is that patient, smoke-clogged, ritualistic vibe, solemn with the noticeable presence of layered organ and harmonium tones (perhaps a subtle nod to terry riley or even olivier messiaen). indeed, for all its far-reaching strangeness, piedmont apocrypha may be the most approachable horseback record yet: harsh vocals are used sparingly, sung (and otherwise intelligible) vocals are relatively prominent, and paint-peeling, high-frequency noise is almost entirely absent. as one might expect from its title, this record is also heavy with a sense of place. thematically, piedmont apocrypha takes on the skin-shedding revisionist history of north carolina’s piedmont region, a place of conflict, proud culture(s), and intertwined mythologies. the fact that both three lobed (jamestown, nc) and phil blank (chapel hill, nc) are involved further emphasizes this record’s ties to the tar heel state. piedmont apocrypha is from an edition of approximately 1000 vinyl copies and is pressed on 140 gram dutch black vinyl by record industry. the album is housed within a full color jacket bearing original artwork by phil blank. the album is accompanied by both a text insert featuring a new essay by jenks miller (not included with the CD version). the album was mastered by james plotkin.piedmont apocrypha will be released on march 25, 2014 but is available for pre-order for delivery in advance of the street date. visit the bandcamp site for this album for streaming. also available on CD.
  16. I just ordered it to Canada from the Vinyl 180 site (UK) and it came to $30 with shipping. The past releases they have done, like Green Mind, sells for at least that plus tax in stores here in Toronto, so I would say its worth it to just preorder through them
  17. only a few more copies of Terrestrials available on the site. Been reading really good reviews on this
