  3. So I am curious how you guys clean your vinyl (if you do at all). Do you use a wet brush approach or just a microfibre brush (or both). Do you clean your brand new vinyl or just stuff you buy that is used. Do you rinse or dry it or no?
  4. Someone should start a thread on www.recordcollectorsguild.com. There are some true audiophile nuts on there (not to say there are none here) that have been collecting for many years and have some crazy setups. I amsure they would be willing to chime in on this topic.
  5. I am shocked this is out of print already as well. Glad I grabbed my copy 5 months ago. And yeah, this is the best DCFC album for sure.
  6. I have been searching for vinyl discussion boards, mostly those that are aimed at collectors that buy new vinyl from current artists (i.e. indie, alternative, punk, etc.). I am also into Classic Rock as well but there seems to be a ton of boards out there that are aimed at that group (i.e. www.recordcollectorsguild.com) but very rarely do they ever mention vinyl from current artists. So what are some of the other boards that you guys frequent to chat about this great hobbey?
  7. The only white whale I have acquired thus far is Modest Mouse's "The Moon and Antartica". I snagged it for around $60 or so on eBay (still sealed). I have yet to find any white whales in any actual record stores. Some white whales I am looking for (which I really do not have the cash for right now) are: Smashing Pumpkins - MCIS Wilco - Summer Teeth Wilco - Being There (180gram import press) Modest Mouse - Building Nothing out of Something Modest Mouse - Lonesome Crowded West Modest Mouse - Good News for People Who Love Bad News Buffalo Tom - Sleepy Eyed Buffalo Tom - Smitten Bill Janovitz - Lonesome Billy
  8. I just bought this: Pro-Ject Debut III Turntable.
  9. $65 for a sealed copy of Modest Mouse's "Moon and Antartica".
  10. I am a big fan of Sun Kil Moon and anything that Mark does but I am not huge into his live stuff. I think Tiny Cities and Ghosts of the Great Highway is all you really need (for Sun Kil Moon that is). Red House Painters, well that is a different story
  11. Just placed an order at Insound for these: Panda Bear - Person Pitch Beirut - The Flying Club Cup Beirut - Lon Gisland Jens Lekman - Nights Fall on Kortedala Explosions in the Sky - The Earth is not a Cold Dead Place
  12. Hey. I found this place by doing a google search. Essentially, I was looking for a message board where people discussed not only older vinyl but newer stuff as well. Great board btw. I have been lurking here all weekend.
