  1. i'd love to punch chip caray in the face.
  2. yeah if i was the rays or a rays fan i would not feel so comfortable right now. it's almost like the sox have them exactly where they want them. a come back like that can be a complete cluster fuck for the minds of a young team like the rays. whereas it's going to be a huge confidence booster for the sox. i'm really expecting beckett to come out and pitch like he did last year tomorrow night. i think that come from behind ralley was just enough of a kick in the balls for him to settle down.
  3. tampa bay took shitting the bed to a whole new level last night. if the red sox can hit like that for two more games they've got it.
  4. i wouldn't be so sure. boston has come back 3-1 in the alcs twice in the past 5 years.
  5. your uncle is a dick if he'd rather make money than give some relatives tickets to the world series.
  6. that's how he pitches. he averaged 5 walks per game all season. and his era drops through the floor with the more runners on the base against him. he only allowed something like 1 run to score when the bases were loaded all season. if i'm not mistaken this season his era was .161 with runners in scoring position.
  7. ratings would have been through the roof if it was an la/boston world series. i'm not counting my sox out yet (recent performances aside any manager would be confident winning the next 3 with dice-k, beckett and lester on the mound). but if tampa does win i hope philly kicks the shit out of them.
  8. i ordered one. it really wasn't that expensive.
  9. does anyone know when these are supposed to ship? it seems like i pre-ordered it ages ago and i'm still dying to hear it.
  10. most people hate "legacy" teams. the red sox have made the playoffs 7 times in the past 10 years and won 2 world series. that's more than most teams can vouch for in the past 20 years.
  11. here we go again. looks like wakefield is ready to shit the bed. this series seems more like the red sox i grew up watching.
  12. where the hell have you been all season? he started the year off on the DL and he's been struggling ever since then.
  13. what a shit strike zone. that strike on kotsay in the 11th was in the parking lot. then timlin comes out and throws it right down the middle and it's a ball. bullshit.
  14. actually it was the other way around. because fatigue wasn't on either.
  15. i think the wings gave up more turnovers in that game than they did all last post season. it's okay though. they'll bounce back. the leafs should savour the win. they're not going to get very many of those this season.
  16. no i had it set to rookie. switched it to pro and now the computer does line changes.
  17. i picked up NHL09 for PS3. i set up to play a season (dynasty or whatever they call it this year). and i've noticed that the computer team NEVER changes it lines. they play the entire game with their top line and their guys never get tired. is there anyway you can change this? am i missing something? cause if you can't change that i think i'm going to throw this game in the garbage.
  18. wow. detroit has not been playing well through the first two periods. i can't believe how many turnovers they've given up.
  19. I'd be tempted to get MLB Extra Innings just to watch that if it happened. But I think you could get Ripken and be close to as successful. when i moved at the beginning of the summer the cable company fucked up and we ended up getting extra innings for free for three weeks. it was awesome.
  20. i love how tony gwynn hates defnesive indifference. i always get a chuckle when it brings up that it should still be scored as a stolen base.
  21. Except he'd already picked the Cubs to beat the Dodgers in the first round. Revisionist history... I fucking hate Steve Phillips. told you. the exact opposite of what he thinks is going to happen happens. i never understood why someone thought it would be a good idea to pay him to hear what he thinks about baseball anyways. as a player he never even made it to the majors (not 100% on that but i'm farily sure). not to mention all of the bonehead signings he did while he was in ny.
