Statistics don't take in to account one important factor (I don't think), player's center fielder. And frankly after watching Manny play for a few months I'd say he might not be great but he's certainly not bad. the thing i've noticed about manny's fielding is that he miss plays the ball a lot. but he'll toss in a little jump or what not to up play the dramatics of the catch and make it look impressive.

Every fan of baseball should read Bill Simmons' piece on Manny at ESPN.com, its amazing. I think people underestimate him the more I watch him. The dude is viably the BEST right handed hitter ever and certainly the best any of us under 40 has seen. Think about that. Think about all the guys and realize you get to see the best play. I mean that home run he hit on Wednesday night off his damn shoe tops 400+ feet in to the wind. And he didn't look like he was surprised. It makes my head explode to think about. being a red sox fan i've seen manny hit for quite a few years. but for every amazing homer he hits he hits into two double plays or two pop outs in foul territory. not saying he's not a good hitter because he's definately one of the best in the league right now. but in game one when he hit that homer didn't he go 1 for 4? and he never looks surprised when he hits a homer. dude is fully of himself. he expects the ball to go out of the park everytime he makes contact.

i hope they do so they can break the record of most consecutive playoffs wins against a single team. which is sort of ironic because right now they've tied the record which was held by the A's against the Red Sox.

This series is FAAAAAAR from over. Halos had by far the best road record. They won as many games on the road as they did at home. We got Santana going next game who I think is our best pitcher this year and then Saunders (another All-Star this year) going the next game on the road against an injured Beckett who hasnt been that great this year. If the Angels can hit at all they should be ok this series. And I swear to god if those goddamn announcers say that the Angels have last the last so many play off games in a row to the Sox again Im going down to the stadium to strangle them both. They said they at least once an inning last nite. Im like yes, every Angels and Sox fan know exactly what the situation is between these teams in the playoffs. before LA sees Beckett they have to go through Dice-K who finished off the season 18-3 (9-0 on the road) with a 2.90 era. Beckett is the "ace" for the red sox but both lester and dice-k have stepped it up this season. not to mention wakefield has the ability to make a team go lights out. moving forward i think it would be best to keep beckett lower in the rotation. especially as mention above due to the fact that he's had an off year with a few injuries.

i think they're trying to completely eliminate the psp. and make the ds more of a well rounded multimedia device rather than just a portable video game system. i will admit no more GBA slot is sort of balls though.

the thing that got me about that play with vlad was that if youk had caught that ball vlad would have been a sitting duck at first. he was well over halfway to 2nd before the ball dropped. and if youk had caught it it would have been an easy toss to first to double them up. you'd figure a guy with bad knees would take a bit more conservative approach to running the bases. especially in a 1 run game.

the angels finishing with the best record doesn't mean shit. look who they have in their division. pretty much any team could have finished with 100 wins if they had to play those teams.

tonights la cubs game is a perfect example of why i don't think tampa is going to go anywhere in the playoffs. you've got a team that finished the regular season with the best record in the NL and they come into game one and the completely shit the bed.

no, no issuebut they have been bringing up their belifes for past year about label's,ect and although i understand they want to make money, i dont think this is the label for them at all... i dont think epitaph can market them, and they dont mesh at all with the roster( not that it matters, but it would help) it just seems like Epitaph has completly went down the shitter and are just sighning shit bands left & right. and Thursday is one of the few bands that are meaningfull. i guess it's better than victory or island how do you figure they won't be able to market them? epitaph is one of the largest indie labels around. and look at all the sucessful bands that have come from them. i'm fairly sure they know how to market a band. if anything i think it's a great move for both the band and the label. thursday may actually have a label that won't screw them over.

1 for 6 is not good. what are you talking about? comeback kid put on an amazing show. i don't like bane but they're great live too. shai are awesome. as are outbreak. grave maker are okayish but largely forgetable and misery signals kinda suck. it's a great tour. probably the best hardcore we've seen north of the boarder since sick of it all/madball/death before dishonour.

the canadian tour they're doing next month is way better than that. comeback kid, bane, shai hulud, outbreak, grave maker, misery signals.

awesome. easily their best album since dr feelgood. although that's not really saying much. if you're a fan of older crue you'll like it.
