I couldnt care less if K-Rod leaves. They have some good young pitchers who can fill the roll late in games. K-Rod is going to be demanding huge cash and he isnt really worth it in my opinion. He will never again have a season like he just had. I think he will still be a great closer but he wont repeat the 08 season. i fully agree with you there. he's a good closer but won't have another season like he did this year. now that i think about it i can't see too many teams wanting to dish out the money he's going to be asking for. a good closer is only effective if you have the bats to put your team in the situation where you're winning a lot of games. i could see the yankees going after him if they didn't have Rivera.

Try living in Canada. Cheapest tickets through ticketmaster are about $50, but since it's almost always a sell out, you have to pay more through resellers. Yay us i know. it's fucking crazy. i'm a red wings fan and i live in toronto (well just outside of toronto). it's actually cheaper for me to drive down to detroit and go to a game there then try to get tickets for when detroit are in town.

it was more of a joke than anything. i know that division could have a completely different complexion next season. especially with LA having a few key players that are looking at the face of free agency. namely texeria and k-rod. you have to figure there are teams out there willing to throw a lot of money at either of those guys. maybe not so much k-rod since most big money teams already have a great closer. the angles aside. this off season is going to be crazy. there are a shitload of huge players around the league that are going to go on the free agent market. so if a team is willing to spend the money they could help build their team a bit. the one guy i'm going to be looking at is aj burnett. i seriously hope boston picks him up. they need the starter and i'd love to see him beat toronto (this coming from a boston fan who lives in toronto and can't stand the jays or their fans).

Yea Halos should be good again next year. They should win that division for the next few years I would think. Its pretty weak. Who is your team? any team in a division with oakland, texas and seattle is going to be good for a couple of years. i'm guessing LA will finish with the best record in the AL again next season and once again be eliminated first round.

that's an amazing book. i was going to recommend it but anyone i've told to read it so far who wasn't familiar with ellis' comics didn't like it. i love how it's essentially an extention of desolation jones.

I dont think there was any way Willits makes that a single either. That ball was going to bounce no matter what and he wasnt going to touch it so I think that was going in the stands no matter what Willits does. exactly. he wouldn't have been even close to the ball if he hadn't slid.

I use to read a bunch of comic tradebacks, but theyre kinda expensive and i read through them way too quick. But i am interested in reading The Sandman. Another comic I've been wanting to read is Mark Millar's Kick Ass. I think a tradeback is coming out soon for it. not likely since the 4th issue just came out last week (or two weeks ago). usually they wait until there's 6 issues then it's at least a couple of months (if not a year) before the first trade comes out. it may be even longer since it's on a smaller imprint.

Yeah, that's the consensus I've heard too. I have yet to hear the original radio broadcast. the books start to get really dry. the first two are great (guide and resturant). but the other three i found to drag on a bit and it just felt like they were beating a dead horse. which would explain why there's a 6th installment coming out next year.

The Dirt - Motley Crue ... seriously the best music book i've ever read. jPod - Douglas Coupland ... very funny. but i'd only suggest it someone who's in the mid to late 20s or older and has worked in an office before. Sabriel - Garth Nix ... amazing book if you're into fantasy. The Golden Compass - Philip Pullman same as above.
