  1. Samsung plasma here. Love it. Highly recommended. That's not burn in. That's image retention. Burn in is permanent, image retention is not.
  2. Benjamin Button I liked it more than I expected. Shouldn't be surprised though. I'm a fan of David Fincher and Pitt. I love the look of Fincher's films.
  3. Sounds cool. I'm seeing them tomorrow night actually.
  4. Was just in there and saw a poster on the wall. They'll be in town opening for Lucero the next night. Just thought I'd pass along the info. How are they live?
  5. Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band - Live 1975-85 5xLP
  6. Cool, where's it going to be? Any kind of time line?
  7. No, the digital transition will have no affect on it's functionality. Like Scotterson said, just because everything is going digital, does not mean it's all going HD. But you are correct, this unit CAN NOT play back HD. However, what it can do is this (forgive me if it gets a little confusing/wordy): if you hook it up to a TV that also is connected to a digital cable box using a splitter, you can set it to record a show on an HD channel, and watch it LIVE in HD. However if you go back and watch the recorded version, it will be in SD letterbox. The simplest thing is to have it hooked up to a TV that is not using a cable box (but is still receiving basic cable i.e. ch.2-70something). But it will definitely work with digital cable. EDIT: Forgot to mention, you can also download one of many free programs (such as Tivo2Go) and transfer shows from the Tivo to your computer.
  8. I also have this up on Craigslist, so I'm just going to copy that ad...I'll take care of shipping. Excellent condition, works perfectly. Comes with a Lifetime Tivo Subscription for full Tivo Service (NO fees required; paid $350 for this a few years ago). Also comes with wireless network adapter. Great item to replace your cable DVR. Email for pics. Make a reasonable offer.
  9. +1 His movies have some of the best sound and picture available on bluray IMO. Also, The Orphanage.
  10. Inglorious Basterds http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LcoPxyxpE9A&hl=en&fs=1
  11. Yeah, I've seen that one on eBay a few times. Always wondered how the quality was.
  12. haha....I used to live not too far from there. Is The Compact Disc Store on Jefferson Hwy still open? That's where I would always go. Good people there.
  13. Are there any differences between the original pressings and the re-issues? I have both Global A Go-Go and Streetcore; bought one new in New York about 3 or 4 years ago, and bought the other used on eBay about a year and a half ago. I'd like to know which they are.
  14. Has Last Pale Light in the West been pressed, or will it be? Couldn't find any info.
  15. I believe that's the only time it's been pressed. Unless I'm mistaken.
  16. Yeah, good luck with this. I'd also like to know numbers on Streetcore (I believe it's even more rare than Global A Go-Go), but I've never had any luck. After spending several years hoping I would some day just come across a copy, I finally broke down and bought Streetcore off eBay from a guy in Tokyo. Worth every penny though. Baffles me that these albums aren't more widely available.
  17. Just bought a house in Spring Branch area of Houston in Jan. The wife and I love it here. Where ever you look, go for somewhere that is established (i.e. not some new subdivision that each house looks the same and is on a small as lot... you'll ever never re-sell it, or take a huge hit). I'm sure you know about HAR.com, but also be sure and check out zipreality.com. I can give you the name and number of the lady we used. Super helpful. But most importantly, find out what you can afford, and buy something cheaper.
  18. Probably not. If he doesn't want to share, no prob. Just curious.
  19. Best episodes: Mark's death Luka and forest Whittaker (several episodes) Sam's kidnapping/shooting up the hospital stabbing of Carter and Lucy
  20. I wasn't expecting too much honestly. There were only a couple current characters still on the show that actually liked, so I'm glad they didn't try and focus completely on the newer people. I did like how they had most of the favorites return throughout the season. That was better than cramming them all in during the last episode. I personally thought the ending was very fitting of the show.
