Hey Tina! Your IG keeps me confused as to where you are, but I love the neat pictures of the Google place and the bikes and such!

It's a split between SF and OKC.  and i love google!  I went to the Mountain View HQ at least 3 times and then various Google buildings around SF. They sure know how to treat people.  I was lucky because my mentor works at Google so I had a nice way in to visit.  Would be a dream to actually work there.

Yup, obviously it's where I'm at. SF looks awesome, but the cost is really off putting. Tons of tech jobs, which is a plus though.

You should at least visit and check it out and network and mingle there. So many great opportunities to network. that's all i did for a solid month before coming back to OK

Ah, you seem to be doing a lot out their according to you IG pics. As for me, same old. Hate my job, no jobs here, too broke to move. The endless cycle.

SF is incredibly expensive but I love it there. i spent my 20s being depressed at my job and leaving was the best thing.

    Thanks!

Today was my day off and I almost texted a co-worker to ask how the shift was going. I'm a crazy person.

oh no, don't open that door up or they'll be contacting you nonstop on your days off.  I remember at my last job, my boss always turned his phone off on his days off haha. But it's cool they finally are recognizing your hard work. That's one of the best ways to make someone care about their job. more companies need to focus on that fact.

The Voices tried too hard to be a "quirky indie film" but it wasn't awful. Could have been better, but wasn't outright shit.

I can't tell if I love or hate Ryan Reynolds. He's definitely trying to be something other than a generic pretty boy leading man type and I can respect that. I just don't know if I like his schtick. He's no Channing Tatum though. 5 years ago if you told me I'd truly enjoy Channing Tatum I'd have called you fucking insane. But I'm 100% down with Channing Tatum.

channing tatum rules.    also i caught up with the thread and congrats on the promotion!

If you like it there, hopefully you can find a job that pays well enough to live there. It seems crazy expensive there.

Going back to work is the worst. The first few days back felt like they drug on forever. Hopefully I can find something new soon, but I have been slacking a bit on applying. And I watched all of Stanger Things in one day there, and it was really good.

are  you on hulu too?  Seems like they've been getting a lot of really cool shows added. I love Difficult People, and I'm just now getting to watch Gravity Falls, and then i watched some weird movie called The Voices with Ryan Reynolds and Anna Kendrick. I can't tell if I love or hated it but it was unique.

That's good to hear. How long are you there again? My vacation was good. I didn't do much but hang out with my friends and watch netflix when they were at work. I would have liked to explore more, but they moved further from stuff to walk to. It was great to get away and to see them too.

i'll be here till the end of september, maybe end of october and then if i get a permanent job here i'll stay. Otherwise any city is pretty much an option. Pretty sure I won't be moving back to Oklahoma so it's all good by me.

glad you had a good vacation.  Always makes going back to work feel awful but at least you got away from a little bit.  also netflix is great too. I've been meaning to start Stranger Things, everyone has been raving about it.

How was your first day of school?

it went well!  the walk from my housing to school is rough. about 20 min and it's very steep hill for about half of the walk.  But the school is great and I'm really enjoying it. There is this place to eat called Lemonade and it's all I can think about. The food is great but their lemonades are just incredible. I want to go everyday and it doesn't help that it's down the street from where I live.

    Positive vibes Ryan.

Why do people care what fucking stamps they get? I got stuck behind someone at the post office for 20 minutes because the lady could not decide which stamps to get. It's a fucking stamp.

noooooo i love my harry potter stamps!!!!! (I actually don't know where they are anymore)

Glad to hear it! Enjoy SF, it seems awesome. One day I will make it out there just to see it. And yeah, your body will get used to walking pretty quickly.

My body wanted to pay $2.25 for a bus to save myself from 10 minutes of walking haha. I talked myself out of being that lazy though.

I couldn't possibly bear to do that, personally. I might just leave the majority of my collection at my parent's place and just take a small case of records overseas with me for uni. I still would like to know how I would go about shipping an entire collection overseas in the case that I moved or relocated permanently, though.

I had wondered the same thing when I had plans to relocate there too. I think a shipping pod was the route I was going to go and it's very pricey. Separate them in boxes based on importance and bring the ones you need to have as a carry on. I talked to a guy from England who moved to America and that's how he did it. He got a handful as carry on and his parents shipped the rest as he could afford to pay for it.
