  1. Just found this sick comic my friend made. GO WARRIORS!!! click on the comic for the next strip! http://www.bennettrust.com/picknrollcomic/
  2. who needs MORE 'beautiful metaphor driven'? yughk. when i listen to music i wanna hear some unique narrative, detail, reality, opinion, originality, etc. i appreciate music that grows along side me and challenges me as a listener. what if Kozelek was comin' over to your house? you start cookin' him dinner, you bust your ass to make dude some blue crab cakes just cause you wanna make sure he likes the food. then he shows up sulking, and starts gnawing your ear off about girls. you gonna sit there and cry with him at the dinner table? HELL NO! dude, he's an old fuckin' man! i don't wanna hear that shit anymore! i'd kick that fool outta my house! i value his complaints, gripes and even his gossip infinitely more. it makes him truthful, textural and gives him dynamics -- coincidentally i feel the same about his last two records musically. that's something, as a post-19-year-old, i can get behind. also, all this 'ah, he half-assed it,' and 'he probably wrote it in a week'. are you fucking insane? YOU write something this good in a week, ya flippin' joker! someone made a good point about Benji being the point of polarization. i think that's right on the money; these last two records challenge the listener wayyy more than any of his past work. he takes way more risks(successfully in my view), his influences are way less obvious and therefore it's way less contrived to my ears. Benji and now Universal are easily my favorites to date. both are completely unique listening experiences. doesn't mean i don't like the old stuff. i just don't think they compare. it's hard think of another artist that's progressed this much at this age; not usually how it works. we're currently living through the dividing line and that is very exciting to me. i love that people don't understand how fuckin' incredible his new records are and i genuinely look forward to someone trashing what i just wrote.
  3. gawd i luv when people announce their unsubscribing. it's like a retirement press conference that no one cares about. it's been a great run, filthyrich. big hand for filthyrich!
  4. i think the biggest qualm with this was that it was sold at the same time that other vendors were selling it for the appropriate price. us not acting on this allows them to get away with this sort of behavior. we will constantly be limiting our limited releases if you stand by and let HUGE online retailers do this -- i can assure you, these guys are making money. sure it's just one mistake, but now is the time to stop it, not later. also, that Cat Stevens came out 8 years ago and is not comparable.
  5. do your part. Hello SSD, Flipping records just days after you get them? Those boxes are for people who care about the music, not for filthy swines like you just tryin' to make an easy buck. Work for your money like everyone else! I demand you give away at least one box for free as penance. Until I see that you have done so, I will boycott your store and inform ThinkIndie and Mr. Crow that you're flipping their products for outrageous prices the moment they reach your stores. Regards.
  6. Man, someone hook me up if they grab an extra one of these. I'll make it well worth your while. I've had the WORST luck with Koz this year. Ugh.
  7. And really, your 'feedback' doesn't necessarily represent your ability as an effective trader/buyer/seller. You need to feel them out in addition. My feedback took a huge hit cause some moron on here was wrong and I called him out. Bamm! -5 from him and his buds. What a joke. The user, Nelso330, has a positive 90 score and I have a 1. I've had an immaculate track record and this dude takes a month to ship something. Pffft. It's tough, cause there's an element of trust, but you gotta feel 'em out. :/ I'm sorry to hear about your experience. That fuckin' sucx.
  8. I'll take it and recycle it if you send something good along with it.
  9. WHOOAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  10. anyone with buyers remorse about the box please contact me this instant. super pumped on the price of this thing tho. great alternative to the box. way to redeem yourself 4ad.
  11. man, i empathize. that's a tough call in the wee hours of record store day cause a.) you don't know what other stores(not to mention flippin' ebay) are selling it for and b.) this was an extremely limited release -- at least in the SF bay area; there were like 3 or 4 TOTAL. to return this and expect to find another would have been 100% impossible where i live and i deeply envy the people who just 'stumbled across this' later in the day. i wish they'd sell me theirs. if it's $150 over list on the day it's supposed to come out, that's price gouging and it's flipping. you're always paying what the music is worth to you, versus what someone else paid the distributor for it. it's an ego thing. no one wants to pay some asshole $250 bux for something he JUST bought for $100. he's using you and the 10 guys behind you as a flippin' ATM machine. but maybe the question you need to ask yourself is, will these albums give me $250 worth of pleasure for the rest of my life? to me, that's an easy yes. then again, $250 moves a little too fast around here. my two cents.

  13. I know someone here has GOTTA have access to an extra box set. I'm willing to go $160ppd or trade my What's Next to the Moon and cash. Please help a brotha out!
  14. hey, so my lady and I each ended up with a Moon copy. we agreed that if someone could hook us up with a good lead on some other Kozelek stuff or just arrange a straight up trade, we would be happy to help someone out with this. i somehow didn't get in on the Red House Painters box from Bullmoose, despite being several numbers lower(52313) than others reporting shipping confirmation -- not really sure what to do about this. but if someone wants to trade an extra box + i give you the cash difference, that'd be tyte. anyhow, open to any trades for the Koz. thank you.
  15. ahhhh bullshett! i'm below 52315 and haven't heard a peep! pray 4 me. i pray 4 u 2.
  16. anyone heard from bullmoose in the last couple hours? i'm startin' to get bummed that i might have missed it. if anyone did end up scorin' an extra copy please shoot me a pm.
