  1. Hey, lookin' for this album. Any variant. Looking to spend about 40-50 on my girl for xmas present.
  2. i will start the bidding at 42 dollars for both.
  3. my honest opinion would be $20 for an LP. that's what i would sell it for. i also don't agree with the massive inflation of vinyl prices in general over the past few years. 5 years ago single LPs were between $13 and $17 bux. now they're between $17 and twenty-something. folks might be thinking to take advantage of the booming market while they can, in fear of another recession, but really i believe a fair markup is double of what it costs to manufacture(generally between $6 and $8 per single LP). i'd bump it up to $20 for the test for the hell of it. music distribution can't be an avenue to get rich because it filters down into so many other facets -- how much people should pay for music, what a recording should sound like, what kind of bands should people listen to, etc. i believe the current model will ultimately fail and a lot of these records that aren't actually that limited will drop significantly in value, especially with labels doing these kind of crazy markups. ultimately, it's not about capitalizing on what someone WILL pay. for me, it's who's quickest to get that test they really want, ya know? whoever is willing to work for that shit gets it. that's the cool part of being a collector. feels way better than shellin' out $25 or $30bux for a 'flexi test', which by the way, isn't even a fucking real thing. it's just the first flexi's they made that worked. anyhow, a lot of people on this forum complain about being poor and that's because we can't afford to take chances on records anymore, cause they're too expensive. so people sell safe, bullshit records on record store day for $30bux to make their bottom line.
  4. i don't know. tests are like 100bux for 20 12"s. so $5 a pop VS their $50. their markup is roughly 1,000%. plus the $5 bux you pay a month to download, in most cases, IMO, some sub-par downloaded jammers. these guys are making money hand over fist.
  5. I saw Ween and NIN box at Vinyl Solution in San Mateo 20min. ago.
  6. Yeah, risk-taking waved bye-bye to this band a long time ago. So did cover art. Yowza. Everything looks way more geared toward marketing. I'm sure that's the point, but ouch, their shit looks ignorant as fuck. What is that thing, mall-goth/Torrid superstore Foo Fighter cop badge clip art? That said, 'Sean' is kinda cool. Probably my favorite thing since The Colour and the Shape -- Not saying much. That 'Loudness' everyone is referring to is called compression. It raises levels of 'quieter' sounds to make songs sound more like video game commercials.
  7. best record store in the bay area... across the street from Aquarius records*
  8. Hey dude, thanks for the tip. I guess I was a little late in the game, but I did give them a call and Dave (maybe?) seemed like a good guy. Thanks again. Still lookin' to trade if anyone's out there. Also just picked up Beach Slang's tour press last night, so I now have two copies of that record (clear and white). I'd be down to trade one for some Benji or Among the Leaves in my life.
  9. Hey dudes and ladies, I'm trying to trade my 2nd press/red/slightly more scarce Benji for a first press copy. Blue, then yellow, then black is preferential order. I'm hoping to maybe find a completist that doesn't have red or someone who just likes the color. I'm also looking for Among the Leaves if anyone has that for trade. Thanks for readin'.
  10. No, but I can tell you those are nice sleeves and you'll find the other 70 handy eventually. I shove all the sleeves into a LP Mailer and keep them on my record shelf. Easy.
  11. still having issues. this sucks. if someone has success and wants to order one to my house, i will paypal them back instantly. pm me.
  12. lil bub's owner flies her all over the world to do conferences and shit, in front of flashing lights and to be held by literally thousands of strangers. fuck that. EEEE ZZZEEEE PASS! and fuck you too, joyful noise. flex yr fuckin' head.
  13. if grab bags were slightly de-randomized, ie. a list was given of the pool from which they are taking, i'd be wayyy more inclined to buy.
  14. now i've heard it all. hah. just k. just k. do yourself a favor and don't 'skim'.
