Yeah, the S/T isn't an example of their best work, it's just a lot of fun. Hypnotize and Toxicity are top tho.Hypnotize is my favorite because of its dynamic nature. The S/T is good, but it's a lot of the same style.

I never owned CDs. Vinyl was my first collection.
I never owned CDs either. Burned CDs and digital music only. Until my freshman year of college, when BTBAM's Colors Live was getting released for Record Store Day. Figured that'd be a good way to see if the format was for me.
-
SOAD totally holds up, though. I'll defend them to this day.
Fuckin right. It's cool that a band like them got popular. Their debut kicks ass.
-
I remember like a year ago at work, when I worked in the kitchen, someone put on Hybrid Theory. Still knew almost every word.
-
That's what it's like to be 16 lol.
I specifically remember blasting SOAD on my computer when I was like 8 and I thought I was so cool...thanks for letting me though, mom!
Wow. When I was eight I was listening to Linkin Park and Switchfoot. I could never blast heavy music though. Only home alone.

Mine is almost 50 and he's one of those Fox News Catholic types. His opinion won't change unless Fox News says it should, no amount of evidence on my end will change it.he is convinced the shit in France was over them wanting to serve wine at a dinner and nothing else. Pick your battles.
Sounds like my dad, 'cept he was Mormon.

Paint it Black and Sympathy for the Devil are also the only two Stones songs I could really dig.
I'm not the biggest fan of classic rock in general tbh. sry
-
I've had many a battle. He tried to tell me Iron Maiden was going g to make me join a cult or something. Sympathy for the Devil is by no means a satanic song either, you dense motherfucker.
It isn't, but if you can twist a band like Killswitch Engage's lyrics like that, then the point still stands.
My dad was in his early 60s though. There was no changing his mind.
-
Yeah, can't exactly tell my dad to go fuck himself :/
Instead I remind him that he is currently listening to Jimmy Buffett which is almost the same thing.
When I was younger, I was listening to Killswitch Engage - This Fire Burns with my headphones in the family computer (the only computer to which I had access). I moved my arm wrong and unplugged the headphones right on like the major breakdown of the song, and my dad was watcing TV in the same room. He was like "You need to change your taste in music!!" And demanded I show him the lyrics of the song, then proceeded to show me that the lyrics were about Satan and that I should not be listening to it and I really wanted to be like "You listen to The Rolling Stones."
-
I just get "turn the fucking noise off"
".... This isn't music......"
-
I'd call that first genre "guitar wank metal". People always know what I mean.
Lol. My ex said "it sounds like 8-bit video game music kinda."
-
Haven't heard of either. I'll give it a go though.
Psyopus is... Interesting. I can't dig them. They're like if The Fall Of Troy's technical parts lasted an entire song and were slightly faster. Dionaea is similar, but it's done better, and they break it up with nice post rock bits.
-
Also while I'm on the music-recommending chain, I posted this earlier:
If you know of Psyopus, definitely check these guys out. I don't even like Psyopus, but the album in the Bandcamp link is great.Really cool stuff here. Been listening to these guys for a while. It nice blend of post rock and, like, technical grind core, maybe? I don't know. Listen to it. And if you like it, really cop of the vinyl. It's a fantastic pressing, and they really need it. I ordered it like a year after they pressed it, and I got 90 out of 250.
-
Alright, I'll write it down and check it out after class.
Do. Really great death metal. I like their debut, Of Fracture & Failure, more, but Everything Is Fire's (their sophomore) first vinyl pressing is taking pre-orders now.
-
Here's that list I was talking about now that I switched to a laptop because class started. /humblebrag commence!
Pssssst...! Nice collection!
You need to check out that Ulcerate album, man! Everything Is Fire.
-
Totally. Especially if Brian's here; he knows the food scene better than I.Don't know if or when I'd end up down there but if I end up there I'll hit you up

I have some pretty weird dreams when I was sick last time. Some of them are more like manifestations of my thought process more than a dream, if that makes sense. Like my eyes will be closed, and I would be like playing a scenario through my thought process, but I wasn't seeing anything, like I was being forced to daydream. And the scenarios were really strange. I felt odd when I snapped out of it.That's why it was confusing. I woke up half worried, until I realized I'm 29 years old, not 18.
I always end up having weird dreams when I'm sick, or if I skip a day on my anxiety meds. The dreams are terrible if they change my meds or dosage too.
-
This also applies if you ever come to New Orleans.Yes. It is a wonderful time.
Hope everyone likes records and unhealthy food

The credibility of that bachelors is a little suspicious if you don't have a high school diploma.I had a weird dream last night, where I was back in my senior year of high school and skipped a month and was worried I was going to fail. The weird part was that I had the memory of already graduating college and was worried how failing my senior year would affect already having a college degree.
Forgery!!!

Haha, yeah, it is pretty great. Cool guy here sold me it for $30. When I'm off mobile and on my tablet I'll link my whole DF if you care.
For sure, dude! I wish I'd gotten into record that your age, when I didn't have to worry about bills.

OK, so I don't know how many people here ordered this, but in case you didn't know, The label ran into an issue with the plant. The mix swirl is no longer. If you ordered that, you will be receiving a black vinyl. If this upsets you enough, you can email them at [email protected] and change your order to be orange, while supplies last, obviously.
Also, again, if you're a fan of extreme metal, I'd highly suggest getting this record!!

Ugh... there is both a Dunkin' & a Krispy Kreme no more than 5 or 6 blocks from my house....now if they only delivered since I can't drive... I miss having lazy friends who worked mostly night jobs or I'd call someone and make them bring it to me lol
There is this donut shop in a town around here called Laplace that goes by the donut hole. They're only open from four in the morning until 11 in the morning, but they legit have the best donuts I've ever had. Literally like biting into a cloud. Their shit is the most accurate stuff for that statement.
