  1. Well now Im having that second cup of fatty coffee I shouldn't. Will be forced to figure out something to do after this and now its dark and cold out! Jack Fm is playing Purple Rain!
  2. Nice, I have the opposite problem. Guess I could play the same boring handful of stuff again. Yay!
  3. Ive got a new habit of doing that on here now too and I want to stop and get back into reading or something more productive.
  4. I've spent way too much time today looking at different options for restoring an old iPod. Decisions drive me crazy, even the little ones but I think Ive settled for which parts I should order. I really should have got out and walked around today. Now Im thinking of having a second strong coffee and thats not good for boredom at all!
  5. Damn, it kind of sucks that you can't change votes. I would like to change some ups to downs. (World Record? thread) Also notice a few times people accidentally down vote. So someone on here has one of those Broad City girls as their avatar right? I was wondering what that was from.
  6. Im watching Broad City now. I know everyone says Sonic Highways goes great with the album but I still worry that it will do the opposite for me and ruin it.
  7. Going to check out Broad City. Maybe I could force myself to watch the first episode of Sonic Highways that was free on iTunes.
  8. I should look back on Amazon Prime and find something to watch. Signature gifs here got me to watch Always Sunny but those didn't last long. Watched X-Files, wish I had skipped the last 2 seasons but just had to finish. Maybe I should finally try to figure out where I left off on Buffy. Orphan Black is alright but Im not too driven to watch season 2. There are so many shows on there but Im so picky. Always Sunny was not really my thing but somehow I just couldn't stop watching it, tried Workoholics and it didn't have the same effect. You guys know any shows on there I should watch?
  9. I'm pretty bad at "small talk" but just say things here that don't seem to fit anywhere else. Plus I know you guys have had a thing going here a while.
  10. Talking to one of the guys at a used record store while he was sorting 45s and he let me get this free because he said it was a bit rough anyways. I had hopes that it was what I thought it was because I had an mp3 of years ago and loved it. Turned out to be in pretty great shape especially for free and the version I thought it was only shorter. Also couldn't pass up Ghostbusters for $1. Came home to a special UPS box on the door step. Had a cool day. Oh and my sugar tolerance is so low that I don't know if I could eat half of that piece without feeling sick, but I would still try to take down a whole pie anyways and probably crash hard.
  11. It's nice to see you guys get excited about a Paul signature. Would be great to hold on to forever, I couldn't sell that!
  12. The only record store I go to is exclusively used older stuff. They do get newer stuff in but it doesn't last. Their prices are higher than I would like but not as horrible as mentioned above and more like $5-20. For another "serious question". If you guys get a signed record and don't intend on ever selling it, do you just play it and enjoy it or store it away and not touch it?
  13. If I had seen something I wanted at the "liquidator" I would have said "hey why is this old record $40?" It probably wouldn't have helped but maybe over time it might if people don't buy much. I wasn't going to go back but now I know they buy stuff from storage auctions, it might get interesting.
  14. Not a record store but a new store calling its self a liquidator had a few stacks of thrift store jazz and classical types I had never heard of. The prices were mostly $20-40 the lowest I remember was $10 and without a paper sleeve. I wasn't going to go back but next time prices seemed better, but not the selection. The problem in this case I think was just maybe they looked them up online or just thought they were worth more. Other items in the store were not so badly priced. Those other stores are trying to do exactly what some of the labels are doing with their $30-40 on new releases. Or the ebay flippers asking asking stupid prices just in case someone with who doesn't know any better will fall for it.
  15. Oh yeah I misread. That does suck. If you guys won a signed record by a major person and already decided you'd rather keep it, would you spin it? I guess if the jacket has the signature it hardly matters right?
  16. Yeah I should probably listen to more stuff with Banjo in it. I've thought about checking out Steve Martin's stuff, especially with Edie Brickell. I know very little Modest Mouse though. Yeah shocking I know, but I have liked what I have heard recently so maybe I will become a fan.
  17. Haha! I haven't heard that, thought it was going to be Hot Buns!
  18. I've heard bluegrass covers of Foo Fighters and Radiohead but not with vocals. Knee slapping fun sound there!
  19. Haha yeah I'm listening now and I've heard "Sic Transit Gloria... Glory Fades" at least once recently. Only 2 songs in and its better than I was expecting but I have lowered my standards a lot lately because being stuck with the same tunes gets old.
  20. Is there an identifiable reason this little thing became such a big deal? Should I listen to it on youtube? When I hear it, is it going to blow my mind? There are so many other albums I have actually heard of that I would expect this to be more likely to happen to! After this next release you think there will be enough for it to die off? Is there anything like it that could take it's place in jokes?
  21. Probably why I don't want to listen to it too often. It's amazing but can be such a downer too.
