Contact Newbury and have them send you a new one. Post this picture up on social media so it gives them a bad look lol
I've pinged them twice already by email. Will post something on Twitter as well. I just want a fully playable copy of the album.

I received a Popmarket order today. Quite a surprise.

My Interpol LP arrived today. So disappointing. It was like this out of the sleeve, and the shipping box wasn't damaged in any way. Yes, it affects the sound.

$25 shipped is a great price for this.
You can bet Newbury will do a colored variant of this double LP (hugely popular band in Boston) and charge $40-45 with shipping.

I made it two whole days, but I have VMP being delivered tomorrow and sometime next week I have a package of 22 lps coming from my recent visit to OKC and two different trips to Monkey Feet Music. And I picked up the Vince Guaraldi box set on discogs which I'm sure will be here too. I've got a lot of explaining to do to the boss, (my wife).
I'm generally a responsible and sane person. For some reason with records, all that goes out the window.

So apparently these use the same plates as the Plain Recordings pressings. Damn.
Big fail.

For their 7"s if you are member for 12 months in a row you get an exclusive variant, which have been limited to between 50-200 copies in the past.
For this new LP service, if you kickstarted for 6 months or longer you could start in the special variant version, which you can now no longer get.
Took me years to find gold versions of the Mikal Cronin and MO records....stuff like that is where you get a benefit for being a member beyond month to month.
Thanks for the details!
-
Well, shit. I was going to see if I could go a WHOLE DAY without buying an album, and this ended that attempt. There's always tomorrow! (Thanks for posting. I have always loved this album. "Larry" is my favorite.)

Why would they sell them cheaper? They have had no problem selling all copies of thier records so far. And there is benefits to being a member for an extended period of time; Gold Level variants, free cases, etc. Heck I got a free pair of UGG shoes with one of my 7"s!
It's what other subscription services do, but if it works for them, it does. What is a "Gold Level variant"? Have any photos?

same...figured since they don't discount 3 month vs 1 month that I can just pick and choose as they announce the artists each month
Seems like a lost opportunity on TL's part. If I could pay $22.50/month for 3 months, I'd take that over $25 for 1 month, even if I'm saving only $7.50. Shrug.
I'm signing up for the monthly as well. Let's see the quality of the first release in the series.

god damnit they got me again
For me, this comes to $47.27 with tax and shipping. The same item (minus the swirly blue wax) at Bullmoose costs me $31.96 with tax and free shipping. Same track listing, same bonus CD. Is the colored vinyl worth another $15.31 to me? Nope. However, I can see how it would be to someone.
-
Now down to 49 remaining. If you want one, you should buy it now. (Keep in mind that there are surely flippers buying multiple copies under a handful of accounts.)
-
I grabbed one. Even if all the LPs suck, I'm happy to support an independent business.

Oh hey, a limited variant on a critically acclaimed album went up the day after their once-a-year promo expired. What a coincidence – if I didn't know any better I'd say that was intentional!
If they had released this when that coupon code was still valid, someone in the Boston area would have been fired immediately.
-
Great find! Good looking out.
-
My guess is that the "an employee died" or "an employee had a death in the family" excuse was total bullshit. They surely knew they were screwed months ago.
-
I have also thrown my money at Polyvinyl.
-
Thanks, OP of the DeepDiscount deal!
What I got:
- Sharon Van Etten, Epic
- Sharon Van Etten, Tramp
- Superchunk, I Hate Music
- Superchunk, Majestic Shredding
- Superchunk, On the Mouth
- Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds, Kicking Against the Pricks
- Uncle Tupelo, March 16-20 1992
- Future Islands, On the Water
- Pavement, Slanted & Enchanted
- Drive-By Truckers, Southern Rock Opera
- Cat Power, You Are Free
I paid $78 with shipping. Amazing deal!
-
Well, I paid a helluva lot more than I would have through Bullmoose, but at least my order should go through on the Gorillaz site. Hope they don't start canceling orders as well.
-
I placed my order through Bullmoose because I like to support Bullmoose. Received an email from them today that says essentially, "Sorry, your order has been canceled and there are none left on the Gorillaz' website. Sad."
-
Bought the full bundle without a second thought. I actually have the "Termite Tree" 7" around here somewhere, which I love.
-
-
I understand the beauty and grief behind this album, which is why I won't ever be able to listen to it. Just. Too. Much.
-
I think the $7.50 shipping kills it, especially if it ends up being five LPs I don't want.

Just heard from Josiah at Newbury. They are sending me a replacement, and I don't have to return the damaged copy. Just as it should be. (Thanks, Newbury, if you are reading this.)
