  1. I'm pretty new here, so I hope this is in the right place. (: I'm just so excited about this, I've got to share. Browsing the Solid State store a few days ago. Considering buying the mint and red Sleddin' Hill, when I saw that there was just a handful of the coke bottle left. Being the cheap 20 year old that I am, I figured "Hey, it's half the price and almost gone- why not?" So I went for the coke bottle and decided to pick up the mint and red later. The package came in today, and of course was beat to hell. When I opened the package, a corner of the sleeve was bent. I ripped it open, and found this instead: https://s3.amazonaws.com/img.deadformat.net/tradelist/l/54dbdc051eef3.jpg (Not sure how to re-size images, so I'll just link it so it's not an assault on everyone's eyes.) Needless to say, I'm pretty ecstatic. It's a Christmas miracle in February. If you don't have Sleddin' Hill yet, you might wanna pick up one of the last few here: http://solidstate.merchline.com/collections/vinyl/products/august-burns-red-sleddin-hill Never know what you'll get, I guess.
  2. When I was 10 or 11, the only place in town to buy music was the basement of an antique shop. It was in business for ages, is still going strong, and there wasn't a dollar store record in there under 15 bucks. I was all about the Stones and my parents bought everything there because they were scared of the internet. They probably payed 20-30 dollars for things they could have bought for 5 dollars on discogs. I can't help but feel kind of bad for this guy- I'm not sure that he's trying to rip everyone off. He might just be a throwback and used to people paying pre-internet prices.
  3. http://instagram.com/p/ynbmGXNxXo/?modal=true I've got a copy of Leveler by August Burns Red that's signed by JB Brubaker. I would never consider selling it- it really means a lot to me. Up to that point, I was a depressed kid that spent most of my time alone, listening to music. JB was my hero, and was larger than life to me. I would have been thrilled just to meet him and for him to sign my album, but he really took the time to show he cared about me being there. He posed for a picture three times while someone tried to figure out my old phone camera. He stood there and listened while I talked about moving, and music, and life. He was just in the crowd. He could have been anywhere else, doing anything else, but he took the time to talk to me. I'm sure it was just routine for him, but it meant everything to a broken 15 year old girl. It hangs on my wall, and will always hang on my wall.
