I've been looking for that half pink bleak as well and kicking myself for not getting it from burger when it was in stock. Great album.
Looks like Patterns may still be available here? -
So it goes. I`d imagine many people weren't too smitten, which is why the copies that are still out there are relatively cheap.
Going back to that mood conversation again - yesterday I was enjoying listening to Infinite Light as I was typing my comment, but today I can't get into it. Different day, different mood
-
I'm glad I held off on ordering that RP, thanks for the heads up!
-
It's totally true that mood can really turn me off a release. As well, sometimes I just don't have patience for the slow build, which I think may have been my initial issue with the Tumpisa and the Troum releases.
B&B is one of My favourites. I have the vinyl and the cd version with the cardstock sleeve and the extra demo disc.
I have a couple nit-picky beefs with the vinyl - first they shortened the songs for the vinyl version. Also, the cd cover is rectangular to fit the artwork. For the vinyl, they stretched the cover art to fit the 12 x 12 cover and I just never felt like it looked as good. Perhaps I was biased from having the CD version first. Regardless, it is still amazing.
For what is worth, I think that Infinite Light release is brilliant. The music is subtle and serene with hints of unease - pretty different from much of AB's catalogue (at lease what I've heard). For me it is a great late night listen. I also love the artwork and think the Brown/Black version (which I have) adds to the overall presentation.
I've ordered a few things directly from Aidan through the Broken Spine store and through his discogs (adn). Added requests for them to sign stuff and they've always been cool about it. I also met them at a show in T.O. a couple years ago and asked them to sign a few things there too. . . had a chance to chat with them for a bit. Both were super nice.

K/W here
There's a place called Chit Chat's Express (www.chitchatsexpress.com)...
Wow, I have never heard of that company - thanks for that tip. . . unfortunately, K/W is just a bit too far away from Mississagua to make this viable for me, especially taking their hours into account (10-5, M-F)

I'll have to give them another listen. I don't remember them grabbing me, but then again, it has been awhile and I don't have any notes handyNadja / 5/5/2000 Tumpisa LP /525 Black, includes CD (Accident Prone Records) - cleaned, played once NM/NM
Nadja / Troum Dominium Visurgis LP /300 Black (Denovali Records) - unplayed, sealed, I think, and M/NM as well
Are you familiar with those? Interested?
I took notes on every Nadja release and track, not too detailed, but enough to jog my memory, esp. which ones were a boom or a bust - or, on the fence. I need to look up what is still missing, like the CD/DVD set we just traded for -- I remember the the live were 3 of my favorite tracks, and they sounded incredible.
Did you guys ever check out Infinite Light ltd?

Thanks, grabbed one!

I have a couple of things that I'm not into that were sold very inexpensive to me, that if anyone here wants, I will do for cheap.
The one thing that is so cool a concept but I just cannot get into is "The Life and Death of a Wasp" Man, that sounds like it has so much potential, but no dice. Couldn't buy it.
Which ones are those?
I did/do like Wasp, but really need to be into the mood for those vocals, so I haven't gotten it on vinyl, though I have been tempted a couple times.

But I just picked up some CDs/DVDs from somewhere ?? that I can listen/watch from the comfort of my laptop without getting up to turn records over.
This is true
really digging the new tracks. i like that he's been trying to change it up with new nadja releases considering there was a long stretch of everything sounding the same for a while.
Flipper, Queller, and Tangled (recommended) were all very different. Flipper being my least favorite of the three, but i appreciated it.
Tangled is amazing, agreed. One of only a few 7" I own. my only complaint is that the vinyl is a bit flimsy so my copies is a little warped. Still plays fine though. I could never get into flipper either. LOVE Queller.
I wanted to like Dagdrom, but it just didn't click.
I actually quite like Dagdrom. Those live drums add so much

Transmission is amazing. Love that album, but you should also revisit triptych and the interzone mantras...both have some great tunes.
-
Love that realism

Yeah, definitely not deluxe packaging (man is this sleeve flimsy), but deluxe in that it is remastered and split over 2 lps. Does sound good eh?

Wait isn't that guy on the boards? His Avatar looks really familiar..

Bump because I had forgotten to PO this and just remembered now. The site says it is down to the last copies, whatever that means.

I had beef stroganoff tonight, totally envious of any Mexican influenced concoctions.

I hear you, my thinking exactly. Haven't decided yetI decided to jump on the Brume record. They only have 30 of each available in the U.S. Went with the different jacket one, though I think the other actually looks cooler there will be more of them and when they repress it will probably be the same artwork. Damn my too much collector rarity thinking.

50/50Has anyone else listened to the new kylesa and thought it was BORRRIINGGG
-
Hey man, the dude on the plane said it helped. I can't be prepared for terrorists every waking second. Plus I was trying to reconcile with my estranged wife. LEAVE ME ALONE.
Okay, fair enough, but I don't think you can explain your way out of Hudson Hawk. I notice you conveniently avoided that.
-
I sent a message and asked about that, having missed out on the deluxe rainbow. Mike seemed to think he could make it happen...we'll see if it works out. I hope so, am a huge fan of this album, but don't think I need the extras.Yeah I really want to know what really happened. I think I'm like person 13 on the VC forums, so there could be plenty more. And if there really are no duplicate C/D people out there then as someone mentioned, will they try to sell these extra deluxe A/B individually...? The questions keep coming for me.
-
I've never met Bruce, but taking off his shoes and socks at the beginning of die hard was kind of an idiot move.Is Bruce an idiot? Hell no.
Plus, there was Hudson Hawk.

done..
still no tacos
Sometimes you need to take control of the situation - those tacos aren't gonna make themselves. Be the hero you need!
-
I like Brume a lot, but man that chipmunkson was giving me a serious headache.
-
Yes, they're asking for you to send the extra a/b back in order to get the c/d.
Thanks for the info. Makes sense. . . .might be worth emailing them to ask about it.
