  1. I've found Eric's Trip/Elevator (to Hell)(Through) vinyl to be the most expensive, for whatever reason. Still a long ways away from completing that collection.

I Thought I'd leave this here, because some of you will be interested.

Just found Elevator's - A Taste of Complete Perspective on Vinyl. It is available at Teenage USA - $20 Cdn ppd to North America.

At first I wasn't sure if the website was still current but I decided to take a chance.  Shortly after paying, I got a confirmation email.

Phil, who emailed me back, confirmed that he has a bunch left, yellow or black vinyl.

  3. Brothers of the Nod split is up at Helmet Lady, for those of you wanting to spend $30ppd on a split 12".

    I bought one. :-(

I missed this happening, but have been listening to it on bandcamp.  I am going to waiting it out for a bit, I think - Hawkeyes are local and I was able to get Poison Slows You Down at the local shop a couple weeks ago without having to pay shipping or conversion from US to Cdn $.

Damn good though - give it a listen if you haven't already.

Edit: Hmmm, maybe not, just saw this on their FB page:

We have been receiving a number of messages about where to snag a vinyl copy of the 'Brothers Of The Nod' split with Shooting Guns. Well, the Canadian versions are all sold out but our label bosses Helmet Lady Records have a few American and Die Hard editions left. Don't sleep on this if you want a copy. They are selling quickly. http://helmetladyrecords.bigcartel.com

Really don't want to order from Helmet Lady.  What to do?

  4. Aokigahara is the most incredible unknown album to my music-loving heart. ERR's vocals (solo and with Paris) and her guitar work are just a perfectly sublime. I have one copy from her that has never been played - it is just immaculate.

2 copies for $18 is incredible!! How did you manage that? Can only imagine a Calif. record shoppe.

If people who are Marriages fans and like Some Heavy Ocean, also like shoegaze/folkgaze/gloomgaze), will die for Aokigahara.  To me Some Heavy Ocean sounds more like the album before Aokigahara (A Year of Spring).

An online seller just happened to have them in stock. I bought both and checked my CC account and seems i was refunded for one. I called today and they both shipped priority yesterday.

I check every morning for records in my wantlist. Still a few 'needs', that hopefully I'll find.

Everything ERR touches is gold. Saw her live last week with Marriages along with Creepoid, she has some mad guitar skills. Got Some Heavy Ocean signed by her, which is one of my favorite releases of the past 5 years. I expect to see The Nocturnes back sometime next year, call it a hunch.

I hadn't realized the connection between The Nocturnes and Marriages

Anyway, I just checked out Marriages, which made my week - thanks for connecting the dots for me - Sooo good!

  5. Great bands mentioned already, so I won't repeat.  However, If you like Eric's Trip, Check out Rick White related stuff.  A lot of it is here: https://rickwhitearchive.bandcamp.com/ Unfortunately physical releases are hard to come by.

Death From Above 1979 - probably already know them, but didn't want them to be forgotten

    The Pack A.D.

Different Style, but I'm a huge fan of Hawksley Workman

    Hot Hot Heat

    Limblifter

Mounties - has members from the above 3 bands.

    Black Mountain

    The Besnard Lakes

    Hawkeyes

Nadja - now based in Germany

    Voivod

    The Cancer Bats

    Propagandhi

    Edit: also July Talk

And of course check out this topic if you haven't already

  6. My point is that if this thread is dominated by Shoegaze bands, why would anyone want to contribute a well thoughtout post of a great Dream Pop album to check out for it to only be swallowed up by posts that have nothing to do with that topic (in my opinion).  The fact is if Sarah Records and The Wake have not been discussed ad nauseum in this thread then something is amiss.

Anyway, not wasting any more breath on the matter.

Or you could post your well 'thoughtout' post and introduce some people (who have professed an interested in dream pop) to a great dream pop album.  Crazy idea.

  7. If there is no interest and if people truly believe that, then I will not waste my time, pure and simple.

Regardless of what you say, there is little Dream Pop discussion in this thread outside of Beach House, a few Captured Tracks artists and a bunch that do not belong in either of the genres in the title of this thread.

I think the point many here are trying to make is that those active in this thread like both dream pop and shoegaze and/or whatever else happens to be influenced by either and/or both.  As such, it makes sense to talk about all those things here where we are already looking.

  8. I was just poking around Mylene Sheath's website and I noticed they currently have 2 copies of the half red/orange w haze variant and 3 copies of the red/orange (for a premium price).  Also, looks like they are down to 16 copies of the newest splatter, if anyone is on the fence.

I'm too broke right now to buy a new copy of an album I already have, tempting as it may be. . .
