I just noticed there's a typo in my orignal comment, the old phonograph is a 78 not a 76

Yes, I made the doors, I couldn't find any frames with a rabbet to instert the record/picture without having to unmount anything.

Here's a detail of how the records are inserted.

You print the pictures yourself? Buy something and slice it to size?

 

Really nice setup. I am jealous.

I print them at Costco, they have the 12x12 size and if fits great. The Brooklyn bridge picture was a huge photo I found online and I cropped the 8 pieces and costco did the rest.

Why two turntables?

 

For convenience mostly. I like more the sound of the Pro-Ject but it is a completely manual turntable, when I am alone just enjoying my records I use the Pro-ject, and the Garrard its a fully automatic changer, so when I am playing poker with friends or just doing other things while listening, I just load 6 records to the garrard and it will play all of them in sequence and auto turn off when done, it doesn't require attention.

 

Do you see the piece of furniture to the left? that is an old tube console, I also have a garrard mono turntable in there (never use it) and I have also a Garrard 88/4 mono record changer from the fifties laying around and a 76 rpm crank gramophone, so I guess the other reason is  I just love turntables.

Added doors to the cabinet, the doors can display a record or a picture and you can change records/pictures just by sliding them from the top of the frame.

Hi guys, I just discovered this wonderful forum and I have seen all the pages of this thread and taken some ideas for my storage area. I am still working on it but meanwhile I want to share some pictures of the current state.

 

I used a cabinet very similar to expedit, but this one was bought in Costco. I don't like my records to be so close to the floor so I decided to make a little table to hold the cabinet 12 inches high. I don't have any woodworking knowledge or background, I am a computer engineer but I had some power tools laying around and watching a few youtube videos gave me some idea of how to build the table. 

 

What I have left to do is make stands for the speakers and also I want to make doors to the cabinets, the doors will be just wooden frames in which I can slip an LP cover attached with hinges to the sides of the cabinet slots.

 

Please excuse my bad English, I am a native Spanish speaker. Any comments welcome!
