Thanks for the bump Tommy! I'm still working on this in my free time. I use it a lot. It's also very handy to save a little list of records you're looking for while in brick and mortar stores. I've wanted to add a bunch more features but I've been mainly focusing on making sure the scrapers are staying up to date and showing relevant data. I have a long list of things I'd like to add to it. Open to making anything a priority if it's useful.

I also dig the artwork. I wish it didn't have text on it though.

Oh yeah. Apologies for the accusation. I'll try to swing this back to the topic. I'm from Indiana too. I live in Los Angeles now but did you go to the bright eyes show back in 2005 at the IU auditorium when David Dondero opened? It was great!

I have no idea what you're saying. You're making a plan to team up on a record pre-order that doesn't even have a release date but you're telling me to chill because everyone will get one. And you called me a nerd!

That's cool. I just think helping out fellow vinyl collectors means not buying more than you need to just cancel. I think it's in poor taste. I'm not calling anyone a terrible person. It's just a fact that when you do this on variants that are super limited (not the case here, not sure why people are teaming up for this) you take stock from other people who just want one copy. Even when it's canceled. The odds of getting a couple restocks are way worse than getting one on pre-order day. Yeah, I'm not the one worried about getting one before they sell out.

Again, Anthony buying a comic for you because you can't is very different than both of you buying two and then just figuring out what to do with the extras later. As far as the spotify example, I don't follow the logic of how that applies here. I appreciate you explaining your perspective but it's still selfish. And if you or Anthony didn't get a comic because people bought more than they needed, I'm sure you'd see my point.

I really hope they end up not doing a limited variant because of this thread.

Both of you ordering two is very different than one of you ordering for both. To me it's like people that go to a place where you have to order before you get a table but they put their jacket on a table anyway. Or people that park in a no parking spot because they're "going to be quick". Or people that stand in a parking spot to hold it. It's just all social structure that most of us subscribe to but a few people feel entitled. As George Costanza says "we're living in a society!" I say order when you can order and let the chips fall where they fall. All I was ever saying was that , in your words (I don't really care about someone else missing out. I care about me missing out) was the mentality of teaming up to order and I think that's lame. I don't think you're lame... but that is.

Haha. I'm not worked up and it doesn't matter how many will be pressed. They're under the assumption it will sell out (regardless of pressings) so their plan will prevent someone from getting one. Only under their assumption and context. I agree with you in that I don't think anyone here will have a problem getting one but they are saying I want to make sure I get one even if that prevents someone else from getting one that is able to order before me.

Don't assume I'm fired up about this. I'm just pointing out that it's part of the problem. Why are these handful of people more important than the person they may prevent from getting one?

Right but imagine if 5000 people did that. Think of all the duplicate orders that would prevent others from ordering until they're canceled. The more people to subscribe to your system makes the system worse for everyone else that has your original issue. Imagine you're 6th in line for something there's only 10 of and the 5 people in front of you order 2.

It definitely depends on the buyer as if this counts as completing a discography. I don't fault anyone for buying these but to me it feels like putting a baseball card on a copier.

Awesome. Rough Trade is next on my list. I rewrote the entire API to be able to easier add more stores. Anything that I can get an api response to allows me to add way faster. VinylMePlease being one. Otherwise I have to write a custom scraper and they take a little longer and go out of date.

Still slogging away on this app and in case anyone is interested in updates, there's a new feature I thought I'd share. You can now save or "pin" certain records to the top of the list. Now when you come back you'll see a few at the very top that you've been watching and then below that, you'll see all the recently updated records from around the internet. Also, if there's something you search for that's not in my database, I'll do an extra search for it to see if I can find it somewhere. The headline, better search based on what you're looking for. That's it. Still a fun project for me to work on so I'll keep going no matter what but features and functionality that you'd like to see are always welcomed as feedback. Lost In Alphaville was a real slow burn but nostalgia aside, it's probably the most solid front to back. The sound and feel of return is tough to beat but the songs themselves are better now, imo.

I immediately went to pre-order while listening to the single but held off. I thought this was going to be an immediate buy but it didn't do much for me. Also, it seems like there will be plenty of copies of this so no reason to rush if it ends up growing on me.
