I hate when designers use a font that is supposed to look handwritten. Not going to mention that this aesthetic is heavily borrowed from the MorMor singles released last year (mentioned).

Two more albums in the works... ”What I’ve been working on the last two weeks is back to big guitars. Blue Album-ish, but a little more riffy. The working title is Van Weezer. The inspiration came from our live shows, where, in the middle of “Beverly Hills,” unlike on the album, everything stops and I just break out with this crazy guitar solo. We noticed that, recently, the crowd just goes crazy when I do that. So it feels like maybe the audience is ready for some shredding again. Van Weezer is in mortal combat with Okay Human, a record that’s mostly done. That one’s totally different. It’s inspired by an album from 1970 called Nilsson Sings Newman. It’s all piano-based, but it has a ton of orchestration. We just did the strings at Abbey Road. It’s just gorgeous melodies and extremely eccentric lyrics.”

I don't know. I liked Sweet Mary from pacific daydream. And when I say liked, I mean didn't hate. At least he sounds earnest when he sings and not hokey. That's kind of all I can ask for these days.

When I heard/saw Quiet Slang with that weird forced quiet but raw vocal, it retroactively made me dislike everything. I put everything in the trade pile for my next amoeba trip.

Since you're all waiting for my opinion on this, these records were cool but they kind of lost their steam. Would have been an immediate pre-order if they were all announced together. Strictly speaking from a merch perspective here. I guess the longevity of the story for the press was the priority and probably the correct decision but I went from holding off to moving on with this one.

You're welcome! I've already found some pretty good deals just browsing while working. I've added Insound and Barnes and Noble to the mix. Waiting for Amazon API approval to get slightly better results from them. Appreciate all the source recommendations! Going to get them added one by one. I also like the idea of adding label stores. Not just about finding the cheapest option but also who you want to give your money to.

The current setup is sort of a "browse recent updates from online retailers" kind of thing. It's like those recent arrivals bins at your favorite shop. Currently it gets updates from amazon, newbury, srcvinyl, urban-outfitters and bullmoose (many more to come) and shows the most recently modified first. Additionally, you can search and see what's happening. It's not perfect. I'll make it better but it is a fun little time and money waster that I thought was worth sharing.
