  1. I thought it was advertised as limited. Once I ordered though I didn't pay attention to any other listing. Granted, limited could mean 10,000 copies. I just want to make sure I can get one.
  2. Has anyone been getting the Mister Saturday Night EPs? pitchfork just BNM'd a track off the Nebraska EP. Whole thing is good and is sold out now, but is getting another pressing (because of the BNM). The Dark Sky and Archie Pelago EPs are 2 of my other favorites. The Gunner Haslam EPs are up there too. http://mister-saturday-night-records.myshopify.com/
  3. I went and ordered from Young Turks. It still comes with the sampler and you know they will at least have copies.
  4. Thinking Amazon got the shaft on the Deluxe. There is no listing for it now. This morning it said Out of Stock. The 1 LP version is shipping but my order for the deluxe has not yet. Weird.
  5. I've never understood thread policing. The mods can decide.
  6. What if the thread were entitled "Electronic music vinyl releases" as a catchall as opposed to a genre discussion?
  7. Anyone check out HudMo's new album? I thought it was alright. A bit inconsistent. Its out next week. Here is the link http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00V2XWRT6/ref=as_li_qf_sp_asin_il_tl?ie=UTF8&camp=1789&creative=9325&creativeASIN=B00V2XWRT6&linkCode=as2&tag=warpnet0b-20&linkId=4KM43DDI3KZCVW7Q
  8. utside of a couple tracks I couldn't get into the Beji writing style. It gets pretty tedious. I don't know if I'm going to like this album much either. I've thought he's had a big drop off after Admerial Fell. He's usually good for 2-3 tracks an album now.
  9. Do we know what the bonus instrumentals are yet?
  10. Yeah, I wasn't making my point very well. I'm just saying I don't think its as popular here as it could be. Its certainly more popular than in the 90s, but I don't think its as mainstream as it could potentially be. Pop music is where it seems to reach through to mainstream audiences. Boomkat seems to be criticising this album because it has that reach. I don't think there is anything wrong with that. Or maybe I'm just completely wrong and am out of touch.
  11. In the US if you ask a music fan of moderate interest in electronic music for a electronic act, they will most likely mention some late 90s "electronica" or big beat act, like the chemical Brothers, Fatboy Slim,or The Prodigy. It basically died in the early Aughts. On our radio, it lives on in pop music.
  12. Maybe this is the disconnect here, I'm in America. American radio is not as progressive.
  13. I am being serious. For the most part electronic/dance/whatever music is marginalized.Sure you have the asshole college kids who are into whoever is hot in vegas right now and then you have the IDM kids in their parents basements, But widespread appreciation of dance/electronic music stops at how it influences pop. While huge in the large scheme, its not very mainstream. So when you have an album like this, that seems like it cross over (to be fair, I don't think it will. It will get acclaim, but its not going to be some massive LP), it's a good thing.
  14. It's not like the shit is played on the radio.
  15. IDM nerds looking down on this don't help matters (not saying that you are, just generally speaking)
  16. I don't think there is anything wrong with dance music that's more engaging for a wider audience that somehow skirts being poppy and bro-y. It's in the money IMO. It can pull in casual listeners and music heads. Only a positive thing for electronic music, which still widely regarded as an esoteric genre.
  17. It was a joke because FACT picked up the story and when a publication called FACT picks it up.,.
  18. I think the album is fantastic for the exact reasons Boomkat said its not great. If they are being sincere, it's the oddest review ever.
  19. Who even knows anymore. Irony is ironic. Everything is meta
  20. How is this different than Disclosure?I mean, how do you enjoy anything in dance/electronic music if you can't like this? I mean I guess if Autechre is your end all be all you can't like it. But then you are probably someone who is terrible to interact with.
  21. I wonder how it feels for that Boomkat reviewer to hate life.
  22. Kinda wish they did Garage Flower too. Hopefully MOV does Second Coming. Actually I hope they are still working on a third album.
