  1. $40 for a 3LP set is pretty good. especially since they could charge alot more for only 2000 copies.
  2. This. But with the Hits album coming out, I'd be willing to be a single of You Know Your Right could come out to cross promote (even though it would cut into sales - both will still sell).
  3. ugh. I wish I had those 3 minutes back. Pitchfork can be deserving of guff thrown their way, but thats just a lazy attack.
  4. Closer to World music than Soul. But I think the focus is on how US R&B influenced foreign artists who fused it with their local sound.
  5. yeah, their site is odd. You just need to go through the individual releases. If people are looking for recommendations, start with Eccentric Soul. 001 Capsoul 009 The Big Mack Label 013 Twilights Lunar Rotation Are some of my favorites. 006 Cult Cargo: Belize City Boil Up is my favorite of their other series. But also get that Codeine box.
  6. Numero is having a moving sale. Everything pressed before 2015 is on sale at wholesale prices. Lasts until the 31st. Great way to pick up some of the box sets.
  7. Maybe the half speed mastering helps reduce any issues? But yeah, I'm surprised this isn't 4LPs. They probably need to save something to do in the future because it's an instant classic
  8. Looks like a smokey white clear. Looking at the full tracklist, its probably a 2 LP release. A LP1 w/ clear with white wisps and a LP2 w/ clear with black wisps or a black with white wisps could be cool.
  9. At this point, I don't care what color it is. I just want this record. I keep playing the new tracks from pitchfork Fest and the two singles over and over.
  10. Pitchfork says that the limited cover art version will be sold at Urban Outfitters.
  11. Unless there is an option that hasn't been added yet, I'd guess the red is the limited LP and a standard black will be available in shops and that's the "LP" they reference. I'm sure when Bullmoose lists, they will have more info.
  12. A bit more nerdery: Its MASTERED BY CAPITOL and pressed at URP. The cut is nice because it leaves lots of deadwax to cut down on IGD. My copy was quiet and flat.
  13. Got my copy of Blue Guitar from Amoeba this morning. Did a comparison to my Plain pressing. I think I marginally preferred the Island pressing. The Plain pressing, while decent, always sounded a tad muddy to my ears. The Island version is cleaner and crisper and a touch louder. The one downside to the Island pressing is a bit of sibilance. Its minor, but its there. I think if you have the Plain version and are on the fence on buying another copy of Blue Guitar, there isn't a rush to go get this one because the jump in quality isn't massive. Especially in the sleeves.
  14. I think Caldo/Mark knows there is a demand. But he likes being a dick too much and making nerds like us get worked up on lack of reissues.
  15. Bummer. I was hoping for something new. Thanks for the info. No one on TBY.org knew.
  16. Are they from 2008 or just represses of those records. I can imagine Universal just getting lazy and ordering represses of whatever United had already cut.
  17. I got a notification from Amazon a few weeks back about the 45rpm version being bumped until the end of Sept.
