    Cult Of Luna - The Long Road North (PO: December 1st)

    After listening to the album 5-6 times now I can say I have two tracks that really stick out for me, and that's the two longest ones: An Offering To The Wild and Blood Upon Stone. Truly amazing.

    Also the ballad Into The Night has grown since i heard it the first time.

    As always; this CoL album is a grower, and I will discover new things for many years to come. Of course it's already a top contender for album of the year.

    Mine looked the same and I was a bit surprised actually. Not what I had expected.

    And the inner sleeve was fucked despite being really secure packaged.

    In other news, how is album for those who have listened? 

    The track I was most looking forward to, the one with one of my heroes (Mark Lanegan), is surprisingly the weakest in my opinion. Apart from the it is what you can expect from Cult of Luna; totally magnificent.

    Especially side B blows me away.

    I swore that I would never buy a Mark Lanegan album again, so I'm pretty sure that it won't count that he is on the upcoming Cult of Luna album that I just pre-ordered:

     

    "We have been a fan of Mark Lanegan for many years. So in 2005 when we wrote the song “And with her came the birds” we had his voice in mind and the working title was “The Lanegan song”. But we were not many years over 20 and our lack of self-confidence prevented us from even daring to ask. It took fifteen years for us to get the guts to ask him. Hearing his voice on “Inside of a dream” is nothing more than feeling that we’re inside of a dream.
