  1. how much are you looking to spend on a delay?
  2. transmetropolitan is pretty incredible, yeah. it's epic, and totally unique. warren ellis has a brain that works differently from the rest of ours.
  3. does anybody else find it frustrating what dc/vertigo is doing with their trade re-releases? you want to compile 2 trades into a hardcover? fine, makes sense, people do it all the time. but have any of you seen what they're doing with the new transmetropolitan trades? vol 1: old edition - issues 1-3 new edition - issues 1-6 vol 2: old edition - 4-12 new edition - 7-12 vol 3: old edition - 13-18 + winter's edge II story new edition - 13-18 vol 4: old edition - 19-24 + winter's edge III story new edition - 19-24 + winter's edge II and III story it's like, seriously? come on guys, how hard is it to just keep things in print and consistent? if someone missed out on chunks of singles, or didn't get all the trades the first time around they're most likely going to end up double buying.

  6. having to re-arrange your enitre shelf b/c you got an absolute edition = ugh. taking ~70 tpb's off the shelf, only to move the shelf 1 notch up and then put all of them back on is annoying. word of warning: absolute editions are awesome, they are also too big for normal shelf spacing.
  7. no, green lantern animated comes out this summer, live action is 2010. the arc where hal jordan becomes parallax is actually quite good, i mean, it's crazy, and they totally throw hal jordan over the cliff, but it's good. the geoff johns rebirth (and on) series is bad ass, and a great place to start. it has it's "huh?" moments, but overall it is pretty damn great. he does an excellent job of explaining everything and giving you everything you need as a backstory almost instantly, and then just dives right into the story. but he really puts jordan back into a position of reverence that he deserves. i believe the arrow/lantern stories are collected into a big volume ala the showcase collections. on a related note, my dad's name is hal jordan. beat that, nerds.
  8. ya know, i really like the first 2 flash rebirth issues. i think so far it's a really great story and it's setting things up for some really interesting turns, and i don't feel like i automatically know where it's going, like i do with lot's of mainstream/superhero stuff. i've read a few complaints about the end of #2, but it didn't bother me. BUT, i don't really have any connection or investment in the flash. i know the general history, but i'm not a long time flash reader, i started with this b/c i've grown to really like geoff johns recently.
  9. i have been wanting every famous last word since the day it was released. i could never bring myself to spend $30 on it to get it shipped from defiance though.
  10. i hadn't seen it since release, so i decided to give spiderman 3 another viewing (thank you netflix on demand), the first 30-45 minutes are actually ok. basically, the opening story with sandman and his origin are kinda cool. once brock enters the picture, and the whole black costume, and pretty much everything after that is a total mess. except bruce campbell, of course. and venom was so mishandled i don't even want to talk about it.
  11. big fucking surprise. marvel was just waiting to see which side character was a bigger hit in wolverine to decide who to do a spinoff with.
  12. saw dredg with torche the other night. was not impressed by dredg at all, will not be listening to them again.
  13. do any of you guys subscribe through your shops or just have a decent sized pull list every week? if so, what're you buying this week? my list is all #2's actually: daredevil noir destroyer flash: rebirth groom lake irredeemable overlook
  14. superman remake was pretty good. wasn't amazing, but was handled very well for the most part.
  15. i haven't seen ghost rider, nick fury, or catwoman. i didn't think wanted was that bad, nor did i really consider it a "superhero" movie. however, the worst comic/superhero movie i've seen in a long time was the spirit.
