  1. yeah, morrison is pretty polarizing, he's hit or miss with a lot of people.
  2. you guys are all fired for not mentioning skankin' pickle. or you could just put london calling on the mix over and over again.
  3. i'll be the first to admit i'm on the fence about grant morrison, but batman and robin #1 was pretty damn awesome (and only $2.99, and sorry for the huge image, but look at that cover art):
  4. do you hate things that are totally awesome?
  5. i just got around to seeing it last night. did anyone else think it was really just pretty good? i don't see what the fuss is about. it wasn't danny boyle's best movie, it wasn't even particularly affective, it was just pretty standard triumph of the human spirit fare.
  6. this week's pulls: batman & robin #1 - at first i wasn't interested in this at all because of my hatred of robin, but i gotta admit, it looks sweet. daredevil noir #3 irredeemable #3 chew #1 (maybe)
  7. green lantern #41: finally we get some movement in the story. i felt like #40 was just more static semi-exposition. but this one has some legs. ignition city #3: i love warren ellis. i'm not sure why. i just do. the art in this one is ok, the environments are beautiful, the characters leave a little to be desired... but ya know... it's warren ellis. unknown soldier #8: fuck, this series rules. it's relentlessly intense. this is one that i look forward too sooooo much every month.
  8. this weeks pulls: green lantern #41 ignition city #3 unknown soldier #8 and i'm considering rapture #1 also, i think i'm gonna start grabbing cap in singles from #50 on, so i'll probably grab that issue from last week too.
  9. Highly suggested classics: bone sandman from hell HELLBOY
  10. I am selling 50 issues worth of daredevil volume 2. i don't have the trade paperback for vol 3, but i have the single issues that make up that trade. i also have the 6 issue arc written by bob gale that has NEVER been collected in trade. I will sell individually, or all of them for $55. the trades alone would cost you over $100 brand new. 1.) Guardian Devil (vol 1) - written by kevin smith, art by joe quesada, legendary standoff with daredevil and bullseye - $20 new, $12ppd from me. 2.) Parts of a Hole (vol 2)- written by David Mack, amazing art by Mack and Quesada, pivotal kingpin story, introduction of the character Echo, this is a first printing - $18 new, $11ppd from me. 3.) Issues 16-26 - "wake up" arc by david mack, and the arc by bob gale, sorry, i won't break up this block of singles, it's all or none. - $12ppd 4.) Underboss (vol 4) - written by bendis, art by maleev - $15 new, $9ppd from me. 5.) Out (vol 5) - written by bendis, art by maleev, this one is where someone outs murdock as daredevil to the media. - $20 new, $12ppd from me. 6.) Lowlife (vol 6)- Written by Bendis, art by maleev, this is where shit really starts to go downhill for murdock. - $14 new, $8ppd from me. 7.) Hardcore (vol 7)- written by bendis, art by maleev, bendis really started to bring it home, there's no question as to why his run on this book is so legendary. $14 new, $8ppd from me.
  11. yeah, local was awesome. it's pricey... but for an oversized hardcover it's definitely worth it.
  12. i've heard that all hail megatron is actually really awesome, i've been loving the cover art, but haven't taken the jump into the issues, usually if i'm 6+ issues late on a series i'll just wait for the trade, unless i'm really really interested (i bought the first 6 issues of unknown soldier at once.)
  13. small week this week: batman: battle for the cowl #3 - on the whole, i've heard most of the tie-ins for this have been pretty bad, i've liked the battle for the cowl mini series ok, so i'll pick up the last one. but honestly, i'm less excited for what is coming next in the batman series than i am for greg rucka and jh williams doing batwoman in detective comics. wolverine noir #2 - eh, this is just kind of a "why not?" kinda purchase, the first one was good enough to keep reading.
  14. hey man, just fyi, i have a full first printing run of the cult that i got on ebay + 2 other batman prestige books for less than 10 dollars.
  15. in related excellent value news, oni press has released a trade for the first SEVEN issues of Resurrection, and priced it at SIX dollars, the book isn't mindblowing, but it's very good, and it's easily worth reading at $6 for 7 issues.
  16. by the way, from the lucifer team, unwritten issue #1 is out now and only $1 and awesome:
