there's a lot of good places to start with daredevil. it all depends on how you want to read it. if you want to be a true purist, start with frank miller. if you want to start with the best origin story, start with daredevil: yellow. if you want to plow through the volume 2 stuff, start with kevin smith. if you want to go through the most current huge continuity arc, start with bendis. if you want to just read the best stuff, read the ed brubaker stuff.

vol 5 was great. totally the empire strikes back, which i'm sure is no coincidence to it being #5 out of 6. i have read lost at sea, i liked it a lot when i read it, but it's been a while so i should probably pull it off my shelf and give it another read.

yeah, there's a lot of good miller daredevil stuff, but you could pick and choose and avoid the super steep omnibus cost. i got my cap omnibus on ebay for a steal.

yeah, i'm about halfway through the cap and it's pretty damn amazing, and i'm the same way, i've never particularly cared for the character.

what have you guys been reading? i've been plowing through johns' green lantern, just got the brubaker cap omnibus, just read through the complete sleeper run, also finally got around to gus and his gang. all good stuff.

i hate the ironic 70's look that's going around now, the guy bangs + terrible mustache. that song's not really that good, i really kinda wish church mouth wasn't as good as it was, because i keep giving this band more chances than they deserve really.

first issue was february, now in second or third print already i think, second issue came out yesterday.

gaiman at his near finest. i highly suggest this. it's only a 2 issue miniseries, so you should easily be able to find both issues. however if you feel like waiting, in july dc is going to be putting out a hardcover collecting these 2 and 3 or 4 other gaiman/batman stories. totally worth it.

i saw this in the theater, it was a mixed bag, as expected. some of the stuff i really really enjoyed, some was kinda lackluster.

"scene points" is the stupidest thing ever.

mario lost levels is definitely up there. that game is excruciating. marble madness is pretty damn hard too. i don't know anyone that's gotten past level 4. i mean... the game is only 6 levels to begin with.

when A new found glory opened for saves the day right after through being cool came out they played a tiny show in meriden, ct. my friends and i decided it was stupid that we couldn't dance and have fun even if it wasn't a "hardcore" show. so we did... and as we were one of my friends overheard a girl say in a whiny voice "why are they moshing? this is an emo show!" all out war also played that place around that time and it was the only time i've ever seen howard jones mosh. at a bad luck 13 riot extravaganza show at some skatepark in ct there was some dude in the crowd that was really fucking pumped. the rest of us were just there for the spectacle. but this guy was really into it... he smashed a snapple bottle on his head, and it took a few tries too b/c those fuckers are thick. then he took some fliers to soak up some of the blood and then ate the flyers. saw the dude from dillinger escape plan swing his guitar over his head and crack somebody in the skull, but that wasn't really mosh pit i guess. saw a full blown riot at a hatebreed show right after satisfaction came out. saw this dude kyle jump off a balcony that was probably at least 30ft high down to the floor at a weezer show. other than those... i dunno, seen some fights, seen some blood, ya know... usual hardcore stuff.
