  1. Mine should be here in around 2 hours from Amazon! So excited. Interesting that amazon.ca has already listed this item as "currently unavailable".
  2. Awesome! I am going to bookmark that page, and when I have the money in the next month or two I will buy a pair. Thanks for the advice! If I ever decide to get rid of it I will make sure to let you know! What preamp are you using now?
  3. Thanks! I always thought tubes were cheaper than that, but I suppose high quality tubes will cost more. Should I be ordering the option "Low Noise and Microphonics – If you have a phono stage that has to have the quietest preamp tubes available, we can ensure you get the best with this option."? Will there be any adjustments that I need to make to the phono stage after installation? Or is it good to go. What improvements do you think I will notice from the stock tubes? Do you think it will be enough of a difference to warrant just over $100?
  4. I have had a Pro-Ject Tube Box II for a couple years now, and I am looking for a way to increase the sound of my rig without investing a whole ton of money for new components (I just did that). Many people recommend changing the tubes in the tube box to something better. Does anybody have any recomendations on what tubes would help? I believe that it uses 12ax7 tubes. Also, does any biasing or anything have to be done? Or do I just unscrew the old tubes and put in the new ones?
  5. Thats what I was thinking. Every review I read before I got it said "You won't believe what came out of these records!", but I really think that most of what is in the bottom is actually just the new brushes getting worked in. I am not denying that it does a good job, just wondering if all of that was really in my records.
  6. If buying used, this would be a good table to get. If buying new within the price range of a new Debut III, I recommend the Debut Carbon, due to the carbon fiber arm, and the Ortofon Red cartridge. Both tables are very good, especially if you are able to get a deal on the Debut III. I have a Pro-Ject Xpression II table, and one thing that I like about it is that there are many upgrades you can get to incrementally increase the quality. My first upgrade was the tube box II. It really opened up the turntable into a whole new world of sound from my previous $50 phono preamp. After that, I upgraded the cartridge to an Ortofon Bronze. Combined with the tube box ii, my records were really starting to sound amazing. After that, I started going with minor upgrades. I purchased a speed box II, which allowed me to easily start listening to 45's. Recently, I got the acrylic platter and the Pro-Ject record puck. These are all upgrades that can be done to a Debut III (and I guess most turntables, for that matter). Upgrading your equipment incrementally is a lot of fun, as you really start to learn what pieces affect frequency response, imaging, and just about everything that has to do with your system. I would definitely buy that used table.
  7. At some point I would like to get a RCM, but for now, I am going with the Spin Clean. I just picked one up yesterday and cleaned around 30 records, but I have a question for anyone that has used this product extensively. I only cleaned brand new records, and there was a ton of tiny black dirt that came out by the end. I realize that new records do not come clean, and they they do need to be cleaned, but I am wondering if most of this dirt is actually coming out of the records, or is it coming from the black brushes that it uses?
  8. Awesome! I will be sure to let you know when I am fully operational.
  9. Sorry guys, I wish I could be everywhere and do this! I will definitely have this up and running as long as there is a demand for it, hopefully within the next month. I am located in Markham. If you do not have very many records that you want cleaned, you would be able to come when I am home and I can do them while you wait so you don't have to come twice.
  10. Hello everyone! I am considering starting a record cleaning service in Toronto, and I am looking to see if there is a market for this. I would be using a VPI 16.5 record cleaning machine with mobile fidelity cleaning solution - all quality stuff. I will be able to offer this service in two ways. Option 1, records may be delivered to me and picked up when ready. Option 2, since records are large and heavy, I can bring all equipment to your house. As many people know, both new and old records benefit from proper cleaning. New records have dirt and grime from the pressing plants, and old records have dirt and dust collected over the years deep in the grooves. Cleaning a record will improve the audio quality, reduce the noise floor and reduce cracks and pops, improve the life your stylus, and improve the look and shine of the record. Would anybody be interested in a service like this?
  11. Here it is everyone! I need dollars to pay for school. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Fall-Out-Boy-From-Under-The-Cork-Tree-Vinyl-Record-Lp-12-RARE-oop-/150821718787?pt=Music_on_Vinyl&hash=item231daccb03#ht_500wt_1305
  12. Does anybody have any experience using the Pro-Ject acrylic platter on an Xpression II? Does it make a big difference on that table?
  13. I would definitely buy a Rush box set of every album they've made. Especially if it was on colour 180g. Think about it... Pink Rush, Blue Fly By Night, Yellow Caress of Steel, Red 2112.... That is the stuff that dreams are made of.
  14. Bump, just because Rush is the greatest band that has ever lived, and will ever live.
  15. Sorry if this has already been posted, but does this come with a download code?
  16. Judging by the 3 songs that have been released, this is shaping up to be their best release since Moving Pictures. Not that I don't like everything that they've done since, but these songs blow me away. So pumped for this.
  17. Just pre-ordered on Amazon. Does anybody know if this contains a download code? Or will I be buying the CD version as well.
  18. Ends in a few hours!! 19. Right. And since we're being told not to say anything, I'm saying if we didn't complain about it then nothing would definitely happen. Where as if we do say something there is at least a chance of something happening. Such as how Americans complained about maple musics high shipping costs to the united states. Because of this, they switched to src, and now shipping is too high for me to pay where before I could have just picked it up in person with no shipping fees.
  20. Well, if nobody says anything then how will it ever get fixed? It doesn't cost anywhere near $30 to ship a record to Canada, so why should we pay it? It's shitty when Hot Topic gets exclusive releases but it is way too expensive to have them shipped to Canada.
  21. Travis, PLEASE fix the shipping to Canada!! I really don't want to have to drive to Buffalo for this.
  22. Thank you to everyone who has shown interest! Records are selling quickly and cannot be held due to time constraints of my paying bills. Buy my OOP records!
