It sounds like there is no preamp connected. The preamp will boost the signal to a line level signal, which is something that you will be able to hear. Also, the preamp will apply the RIAA equalization curve to your records. Due to low end coming from wider grooves, and high end coming from thinner grooves, vinyl records do not sound proper on their own. They need a standard equalization curve applied to them, which is done in a phono preamp. The ground wire is designed to release any static buildup created from the stylus dragging across the record.

They should play S/T and Watch Out the first night, Crisis and Young Cardinals the second night, and play a normal set for the 3rd show. There would be no better way of going out than that...

I bought tickets to the 27th yesterday, looks like I'll be buying tickets for the 3rd show. Not sure if I'll end up getting rid of the tickets for the 27th or not. I suppose I'll check the money situation as the time approaches.

OMG! I need this. I wouldn't listen to it very often anymore, but this album helped get me into heavy music. I hope it is carried by a North American distributor so it costs less.

I am so excited for this! I used to own S/T, Watch Out, and Crisis, but I sold them because they sounded awful. My CD's straight up blew them away. I have total faith in Dine Alone in getting these mastered and pressed properly after hearing the quality of Old Crows and Dogs Blood. This could be the best box set I will ever own.

Are there any other boards that support a lot of metal releases? VC is extremely lacking in that department.

Does anybody know how to properly alight a cartridge? I have tried watching reading up on how to use a protractor and I can't understand it for the life of me. I want to know how to make all turntable adjustments by myself, and I just don't know how to make sure everything is properly set up. The only things I know how to do are level the turntable, and balance the tone arm and set the tracking force.

Pro-Ject Tube Box II. It is expensive, but my $40 ART preamp I had before this one broke 4 times, and made me think vinyl sounded like garbage and I wanted to return my turntable and never buy a record again. I highly support the Tube Box II.

Not sure if I'm missing something here, but why on the bsmrocks website can you order the 7" for $5, the 12" for $10, or on the 12" page you can select to get the 12" and 7" for $16? Why is it $1 cheaper to add them to the cart separately?
