yo dudes, finally cleaning out my cassette collection. Bunch of stuff for sale. x-posted this on VLV so a lot of the best stuff is already gone (sorry, too lazy to do both until now). But here's what's left. Holler via PM if you want any of it. ALL TAPES ARE NOW $1 each plus actual shipping. Will try to keep this up to date.

I like this band, but I really don't need to buy albums I've had forever on yet another format. I thought I was done with this Braid collection when the first press of Movie Music came out. Joke's on me!

Bump because you didn't hear about the Casual Sweetheart tape and there are 2 copies of the pre-release left and you should probably get one.
-
Another new one!
CST-003 Casual Sweetheart - Always / Never CS (special pre-release DIY version limited to 25 copies on blue tapes, full version limited to 100 on purple chrome tapes w/silver imprint pro-dubbed by NAC) 6 songs from Detroit's Casual Sweetheart, who are an amazing throwback to the early/mid 90s indie rock/riot grrrl days. Hell, don't listen to me, stream it yourself.

Solid label name. Checked it out solely for that reason.
Yeah, it's a silly one. But I love that episode of GI Joe. What an insane terrorist plot. Cobra were the worst terrorists of all time. Subliminal messages in heavy metal (that really wasn't metal). Actual warheads on top of fast food restaurants called "Red Rocket" etc. Embarrassing, really.

Hey folks. I have been running Forge Again Records, which has been putting out actual records and CDs and all that stuff for 15 years now (damn, I am getting old). Last year I decided to put out a cassette for a side project band and created an imprint called COLD SLITHER TAPES in order to do so. I have continued to focus my efforts on records since, but given how much of a bummer the record pressing game is lately (it takes forever), I'll probably only be doing a small handful of LP releases per year going for the time being. Therefore, I decided to start doing some more with the COLD SLITHER TAPES imprint. The first tape was for PINK GUYS and there is, literally, one of those left (also available as a download or a 10" lathe cut from Forge Again Records). But now I'm starting to ramp it up again. The plan is to only release NEW music - albums, EPs, singles, etc. that aren't yet available anywhere else. Pro recordings (at least for now), pro-dubbed tapes (mostly), with digital, etc. Already have three tapes planned for the rest of 2015 (maybe we'll throw another one in there soon...) So if you'd like to check it out, please visit:

Anyhow, history lessons are boring. Let's talk about the awesome shit that's coming out. First up, is a tape from Chicago's SALVATION. It's a fucking hot one. We'll have another announcement later this week and then another the week after that! Starting hot and heavy. If you have some cool stuff, send it my way. Maybe we'll put it out!
CST-002 SALVATION - ROYAL FUCKS CS (first press, 100 copies on red chrome cobalt tapes w/white imprint, DL code, pro-dubbed by NAC) - 7 song rager from Chicago's SALVATION, a killer punk/rock/garage/grunge three-piece that will make you think of early days of Nirvana. Shipping now!

Annnnnd stay tuned in here because the next one will be announced by the end of the week.

It blows my mind that a label would be unable to maintain art files in the digital age. Stuff from the 90s or whatever, eh I get it. Stuff that came out in the last 10 years? Bizarre.

Here's a video of them playing "Pittsburgh" at the release show last night.

Bumping this because it was on like page 3 within hours. Haha

Yo dudes, new release! Here's the pitch:Besides having one of the best band names in the world, LASERS AND FAST AND SHIT also have what Tiny Grooves described as “one hell of a propulsive fiery art damaged punk sound. Mix in the brash angular punk of LES SAVY FAV, the garage thump of the MISTREATERS, the hardcore thrash of DOUBLE DAGGER and the noise riffing of DRIVE LIKE JEHU... and maybe throw in some BIG BLACK, NATION OF ULYSSES and JESUS LIZARD for good measure..... what you get is some of the most engaging hardcore tinged punk rock that doesn't follow those boring old formulas." Featuring current and former members of BLOODIEST, RUSSIAN CIRCLES, and SHAPERS, LASERS previously cranked out a self-released 7" and a cassette EP for Hewhocorrupts, Inc.. With Third: Munch, the fog/lights/noise whirlwind that is LASERS AND FAST AND SHIT is finally unleashing their first full length LP. Recorded by Mike Lust at Kingsize Studios and mastered by Erik Rasmussen, the first pressing is limited to just 200 copies on red vinyl with silk-screened polybags and full color sleeves. LASERS will be playing a series of FREE shows this weekend to celebrate this release. They'll be playing at Record Breakers (Reggie's) in Chicago on Saturday, April 18th at 11 AM as part of Record Store Day. And if that's not enough for you, they're also playing that same day at the Reckless Records on Milwaukee Ave. at 2 PM. And if THAT isn't enough, they are playing a FREE record release show on 4/20 at the Empty Bottle with FAKE LIMBS and VELOCICOPTER.
For now, starting Saturday you'll be able to get the record exclusive at Record Breakers and Reckless. You can also order it direct from us or pick up a copy from the band at the Empty Bottle on Monday. Order and stream a few of the tracks NOW at Forge Again Records Bandcamp page. Here's a sneak peak of the LP and my cat for good measure.

BUMP - the dust has settled and I think everybody got their copy in the mail and everything is all good so I am going to sell the remaining copies.
There are like 7 or so copies of Dance.Pretend and 19 copies of A Daydream Disaster. Available for as long as they last. Got some other new stuff out that you should check out and if you dig, hey, maybe place an order for multiple things and save on shipping....US shipping only charges for the first record, the rest are free. Just sayin'
ALSO, we have some leftover Fordirelifesake shirts available on the cheap from the show. Very limited quantities. They are very nice shirts though.

What's insane is that they haven't managed to shit out a $30 version of the Angus Soundtrack, easily one of the best soundtracks in the 90's.
Yeah, Angus is a hot one too. Even CLUELESS is tolerable.
Can't wait for that MEET THE DEEDLES 2xLP

I will not be happy until every single movie that features Smashmouth "All Star" has a $30 "audiophile" LP soundtrack available for purchase.

The mix is actually the same as the original CD version, but we tweaked the master a little bit. It was mostly necessary because of the last track, which went on forever and ever on the CD version. We had to kinda resplice it to fit on an LP. Actually sorta changed the whole song to do that. Haha.
But glad you are happy with it and that we were able to make it happen!

Holy shit I stayed up until 2:30 AM after playing outdoor hockey in the freezing cold assembling and packing these things. They are all packed and paid up and ready to ship. I think the post office is closed at like noon though and I am getting out of work at 1. Might not ACTUALLY ship til FridaySo yeah, good to get these out of my house. Dust is settling. Might have a few copies of Dance.Pretend available but won't know until I give it a couple weeks in case anybody has issues with their copy getting run over or something. .
-
It's on their band camp to buy by itself...
Yup! It's $5 and it won't increase shipping if you order it with something else Or I think it's like $2 to ship by itself. The point of these was to give them away but I don't want to deny em to people outside of Chicago!
-
First batch of these finally shipping today. Sorry for the holdup!
-
Not 100% opaque. Pretty damn dark, but some light passes through. I am guessing they just add some dark vinyl (maybe black?) to the regular blue to make it. Not entirely sure. Gonna have to get some pics in better light. The band took these. I don't have the jackets in-hand yet (should be here today, but probably Monday).
No spines on either, unfortunately. Both are foldover silkscreened jackets.
-
White vinyl for Daydream.
Hard to tell but that's dark blue vinyl for Dance.Pretend.
-
I think they were also at the "last small brown bike show in detroit" in 2001, and I've definitely seen them a handful of times since that. Hott shitt
I saw FDLS's last show in 2008 or whatever (right before their Japanese tour...haha) and then flew out to see them in Toronto in 2012 playing a "secret" show opening for The Fullblast's last show. The same Fullblast who played last month. Haha. Gonna miss Black X-Mas for family shit but they were talking about doing a weekend in Chicago/Milwaukee/etc. at some point. Not sure they'll ever be full time again, but I think they'll pop up here and there.
Hot damn, excited that these are going out soon. What color vinyl did you decide on?
Announcement on that tomorrow when I can include some nice pictures! The Detroit copies showed up today, but it was too dark out to get a nice bright picture of em. I'll either get that picture in the morning or when the Chicago copies show up in the early afternoon. Ended up getting pretty much exactly what I wanted to do (I gave the plant like 3 options to give them flexibility to get them on the press sooner) so I'm excited to see the final product.
FS: a bunch of cassette TAPES - 90s stuff, punk, metal, classic rock, etc.
