  4. If anyone is willing to part with the alternate "barcode/pigman" cover for this record, please PM me. I'm an avid collector of everything Mr. Vapid! cheers, sickteen!
  5. dude practices bad business, bummer, i know what its like to get ripped off, dealing with two of these kind of excuse makers on ebay right now.
  6. Great record, I would sell you mine, but it's very trahsed from over-use, aka abuse. I believe this record came out in 95, and I remember getting it right when it came out. the vinyl still plays well but the cover has seen better days. good luck on your search, shouldn't be that difficult to track one down. cheers!
  7. thats a small tragedy for the city, i believe it was 2000 when i saw the white stripes at fallout records getting down and dirty. thats when i knew this dude had some serious chops! the owner of fallout was an exceptional human being, always willling to help and point you in the right direction of music, and welcomed you in the store with big smile, a hot piece of wax spinning on the record player, good times. best punk establishment for a record store historical in the city. sucks to hear it's gone. What's there now ?? bedazzled was much more like a record store out of high fidelity, definitely some of that going on there, but the owner Al, had a great ecelctic stock of music from international (world), to essentails like Bowie and the Beach Boys, to sections dedicated to UK punk and Jamican Reggae. Really great store, definitely strongly indie influnced, but for all the indie record stores in seattle i prefered this one, it was located in the U dist and that place can get down right seedy and atomic.
  8. The holidays' are not over yet! someone surprise me. Still searching ..
  9. when i lived in seattle 1999-2002 I use to always go to singles going steady, fallout records, and bedazzled discs. not even sure if these are still there though, but all three had a good selection!! and a lot of history behind them. great owners, and great rocking tunes. sickteen
  10. Bump .. maybe someone can come through for me during the holidays!!
  11. Hello all you mighty fine people!! And happy holidays - Okay, here I am in search of two might fine prints. One is by Pete Cardoso and the Print is for the band Street Dogs, the print is "War After The War". Coming from a family with a deep military tradition. This print means a lot to me. The Second print I'm after is for Green Day when they played the Warfield it was made by Chris Bilheimer. I actually attended this show, and the person that I took, is now deceased. It's a print I would like to frame, and hang on my wall next to other very meaningful prints, and pictures to me. Anyone that can offer any help, or would like to make some money, let's talk. I'm open for all suggestions, and possible leads that might land me these two fine prints. Thank you for your time. All the best, sickteen
  12. Well got my Banner Pilot record. Have to say, I'm disappointed in the record. And I'm not trying to shit on these guys, but my expectations were much higher in anticipation to this release. Very disappointed. If this is all Banner Pilot is able to churn out as a band, they should hang em up. The record is very underwhelming. Now the new Dead To Me, is truly great, and would of been a much better follow up to Cuban Ballerina and Little Brother. Good to see Chicken has another force in the band that can help illustrate and execute his aesthetic and vision. No doubt Jack Dalrymple will always be the original to do this, and Cuban Ballerina will always be arguably the bands best record. However Sam is a great fit, and another perfect counterpart to Chickens baby that is Dead To Me.
  13. Yep, have a few friends that are mail carriers, and have learned a lot about the USPS. I use to be very naive, and uninformed about the magnitude and position the USPS is actually in. We really take the post office for granted in this country, disrespect the workers, and complain about their service at the drop of a hat. When in fact, the service they provide is crucial to most of us, businesses, this country as a whole that stretches well beyond what meets the eye of the average customer. And the Fed Ex/UPS is just one of those examples. There is plenty more if people would take the time to do a little research. I for one want to see the Post Office emerge from this and continue to offer their great service. This country would be in a tail spin mess, if the post office shut down the doors, that kind of infrastructure and trained mass work force can't be ran by any other organization in the blink of an eye.
  14. Well, depends on how you look at it. Unfortunately the USPS if granted to do away with Saturday delivery by the power of Congress. Will do it in a sweeping manner. Effecting positively the company, but negative many of the rural towns across America, that truly depend on their Saturday mail service, via prescriptions, newspapers, or parcels etc The loss of Saturday delivery would be less damaging to customers with in the city limits, that can get to a pharmacy, get online, or get the paper from the grocery store. However not everyone lives in the city, far from it actually. Rural America is a huge proponent of our Country. Also in a time when we want to see Economic Growth and not more devastation, what does it say to the minds and hearts of people out in the rural country side, when we basically decide to close them out ? USPS should be thinking about growing their business model, and bringing in all facets of their customers needs to the forefront.
  15. You realize Fed EX and UPS depend on the USPS to deliver for their customers ? In fact if you do a little research, you will see that Fed EX and UPS are customers of the USPS. The USPS will deliver to the last mile, something Fed EX and UPS do not do, so they have a contract in place with the USPS. Your parcel may say UPS on it or Fed EX, but it actually may have been delivered from a postal mail carrier. Happens all the time in the rural towns of America. You will see Fed Ex and UPS trucks backing in to a Post Station for a reason. A lot more companies depend on the USPS than many realize. Including their own competitors.
  16. I'm reading Sons & Lovers by DH Lawrence. And so far the book is humbling as all hell. I'm totally inthralled in the children's personalities and lives. I loathe and feel sorry for the father at the same time, and the mother is heroic, but can be cold, and jealous. I'm only a 100 pages in, and the book has my full and appreciated attention. It took about 20 pages plus to really get into the book though, but I love it so far now. I highly recommend it.
  17. Thanks, but no such luck ... Come one people, I know some of you are holding. cheers! sickteen
  18. Probably going to pass, but thanks for the offer.
  19. Yeah, USPS gets a bad wrap, but when you look at their volume of mail, customers, and whole operations in general, they're pretty fantastic.
  20. For me Dead To Me has dropped the ball. I get a lot of people like the stuff post Jack, but not me. It's just not that good. it's okay, but nothing as compelling as Cuban Ballerina and Little Brother. Also The Get Up Kids certainly dropped the ball ... And I wouldn't really say these bands by any means broke my heart. Everything runs it's course and change happens.
  21. I've done it once before, and am about to do it again. I'm originally from California, born in Oakland in 78. After high school, just didn't have things going on, was doing bad drugs, and fucking up left and right. Told a few close friends I was going to bail, and if they wanted to go, now is the time we were 20 years old. Everyone was to scared. I sold all my shit, my car, clothes, vinyl, etc quit my job and hit the road. Ended up north in Seattle for about five years .. Met my wife who was from Portland, moved to Portland, and been since the past 7 years. Now, I have two very decent jobs, one I like a lot, I'm making good money, have a house, and just in general happy, have friends here up I5 in Seattle, and in Portland where I live that I'm very close to. Its nice to be able to go to the coast in two hours, or go to a punk show here in Portland. Now I'm planning on leaving everything behind, selling most of my personal things off, and moving to the middle of no where Arizona. Where the economy is bad, there is no jobs at all, the jobs they do have pay shit, no benefits, and nothing to do. Except, I kind of like the idea of moving out in the middle of a desert and starting over. My wife has a side of her family in the Phoenix area, so she's into it. I'm 32 years old. And my life is just about to get really interesting again, on how to survive and thrive. Good luck to you if you do it, it's definitely good for you, it helps you grow as a person, teaches you some life lessons. late sickteen
