  1. They're with EVERY option. CD, LP, CD & Shirt, LP & Shirt. They're not with the 7"s. They're with everything else for an additional $5.
  2. The "teaser" 7" was meant to be a pre-release item...and due to schedules and extenuating circumstances....here we are! And the $5 beer koozie, lighter and bottle opener are awesome. Totally legit. I'm not just saying that because we made them. We're selling them for a tiny bit above cost simply because we believe in the cause that are OWTH drinking and smoking supplies. We also launched Joe Strummer & The Mescaleros today. Orange Streetcore and Red Global A Go Go limited to 500. Fucking amazing re-listening to those and I'm sure most know the story on the unavailability of those. And not to hijack this, but the new OWTH is fucking awesome. And I'm not saying that because Ryan threatened me or because Robbie and I used to vandalize public property together. Epitaph Store
  3. I was more being self-depricating. Obviously...we do things that we'll believe to make us money which is why I Am Ghost isn't on the label anymore (zing). But cash grab has a connotation I don't like. Maybe profit-minded?
  4. Let's face it. 54 minutes doesn't belong on one single LP. It's been remastered for vinyl. Feel free to read the description for more info on the deluxe and re-issue and what's happening. The real kicker is this doesn't sound like crap on vinyl now. There's a bass level on this record that actually exists on vinyl now. We're all stoked. First 500 are on blue. The release date is June 8th. Expect these to ship before because we're not too concerned with this one leaking. ....I mean...Cash grab. Fuck Epitaph. Assholes. Or something. 5. I'm glad people got the email we sent out with the red/green switch. 500 red 1000 green 2500 or 3000 black (I don't remember off the top of my head. And stock is REALLY low and the colors are all gone.
  6. I've considered your alternative and I accept. Where do I sign up? I think your health care system might be stopped at the border if I try smuggling it over.
  7. Karl is a former employee of Bridge Nine who left last summer to take a job with Epitaph. His wife gave birth to a beautiful daughter December 27th, and (depending on which doctor's opinion) his daughter was either a false positive case or had a VERY MILD case of meningitis...but they never figured out the cause and she never actually tested positive for it. Either way, 10 days in the ICU, 10 days of tests, 10 days of antibiotics, 10 days of $800 per 15 minute doctor checkups, $500 for hearing tests to ensure she suffered no damage, and the prior birth and all that goes into that...even with 20% coverage of insurance, he and his wife are now on the hook for nearly $10k in medical bills thanks to the retarded loophole that family minimums were reached for 2009 AND 2010 for the care and services. To avoid the feeling of financing his daughter from the medical world's billing departments that use a pricing structure inspired by Dr. Evil in Austin Powers, he's selling what's in his record collection. Memories are still there regardless. Sometimes you gotta sell your stash. But with all of this, he's not selling his Dillinger Four Midwestern Songs on white vinyl. And this is the only post he's making in the 3rd person.
  8. YO-Selma was wrong. I can't say this simply enough. Selma was not involved at all and since we've hired a new customer service/webstore person (Cody...who is emailing most people back) she wasn't aware of the nuances beyond that she's seeing invoices and told that we are putting a few more boxes up and live. We didn't hold shit back. If a package was damaged beyond repair, the record was recycled. These were all over pressings or stock errors on behalf of the warehouse not being able to find something and calling it out of stock instead of finding more. Here's how the procedure went. We order 500 (or 300, or 400) We put 460 into the store for sale (keeping about 10% for free stock to bands/friends/employees). We have standard pressing overs that no one knows about. Our old warehouse manager was NOT captain organization. If we got 550 or 540 or 570 or 530, he never informed us, and rarely, the paperwork was done on time. So as it develops, I was over at the warehouse a week and a half ago found these quantities and we put them up at regular pricing. For those curious, we launched (this is crude due to it being from my Blackberry notes entered while at the warehouse) Frank turner red vinyl+72 How could hell red +30 Bad against grain yellow +30 S+m orange + 150 in Descendents white +60 Punk in drublic cola+ 60 Etid pink/ 50 Etid tan +100 Converge tan +16 Nofx liberal yellow +90 in Nofx liberal blue + 150 in Nfg/dc splits -pink + 40 And Jew jokes are only funny if they're told by Jews...OR if other Jews find them funny and sanction them. Same rules as Chris Rock's rules to black jokes or the inverse of Homer Simpson's perception of the use of the word "queer" ("I resent you using that word...that's our word for making fun of YOU"). They can tell them. You can't. Sarah Silverman can tell Jew jokes. Mel Gibson cannot tell the same joke. Get it?
  9. Hey, I've been spending time not on here for a few days. I missed some shit apparently. 1) The "cola/beer" brown is obviously varying as vinyl mixing is an inexact science. I'm changing the graphic. You see what we ordered and were expecting, but it's still 500 on whatever color that is. 2) If you want your order split up, you need to email customer service. I've never heard of them doing it, but they might be able to. They're the ones who have to sort out those details with you-I can't help since they've literally got thousands of orders to sort through right now. We've been absolutely slammed on emails and we're hiring a new employee to augment our staff. People are obviously being taken care of, if you're missed, hit them again. I'm always here if you need to have any shit shaken down, but no one's being ignored.
  10. I don't normally do this shit. I usually just have them refunded and shut up about it. But this was a special one. Back to work, everyone.
  11. Yeah, I was in the mood to find shit with zero plays in my new Itunes. You'd be amazed what you have in your itunes library with zero plays. The first two coldplay records are and were good at the time. Sure, they're all soccer mom & dude thinks he's Bono or Napoleon or Thom Yorke or all three, but they weren't always lame to look at or hear.
  12. Between having a kid last week and being able to send this email off this week, I'm on a roll. Here's to living. "Hey shitstain- I use that name sparingly, but in cases like this, you have earned it. “How,” I heard you ponder, “is someone I’ve never met emailing me calling me a pole of feces while he’s listening to Coldplay? Surely that’s hypocritical.” Well, sir, you get this title by selling records we haven’t even shipped yet for $70 on Ebay. At least have the decency to wait until you get them before listing them at laughable prices. It’s a little more acceptable, gives you a bit of plausible deniability regardless of your intentions, and it surely doesn’t give us the ability to judiciously refund your $210 asap because we still have your records and we don’t need your money. And in the process, we both now are able to entertain the whole of the Vinyl Collective board who ratted you out. The other option is that we can gladly let you sell your records for $70, but you have to pay us $35.99 each. That’s still a 100% markup. That’s good economics. If you want to get into the business of being an opportunistic, shilling leech, get into the subprime mortgage business or Euro shit porn. Nice try. Expect $210 to go back into your paypal account to re-invest into whichever business suits you. No reply necessary-I won’t read it. Karl
  13. Bad Religion 7"s We have plenty of them. There's just too much going on with the site right now for us to reboot it (we had to cache the page so that we could handle traffic since our super duper server megaload conversion isn't happening until tonight...) Therefore, if you want a BR 7", order one tomorrow, notify customer service, and they can adjust it. I just can't restart the page with so much traffic, so those who want it are just going to have to wait and we can refund the shipping charges after the fact. Word up.
  14. What's your item? Or just try again. We upated the site a sec ago.
  15. That's a mistake. What LPS were you ordering? If nothing else, pay with paypal and we can refund the difference or something.
  16. 1) Good morning. 2) I see people caught on to my "turn shit on at 2am so I don't have to be up at 7am" trick. 3) Dan. Got your email. I'm sure that's not a problem. Haven't had 100 orders yet. It's still early in da' game. 4) I cannot emphasize how great the Descendents record sounds on vinyl. You will be stoked.
  17. The Trio won't ship until mid-February. Frank Turner expect end of the month. The other records will ship next week, but we have them in the warehouse already. We just need to allow recovery from the break. We're building a system that allows you to choose multiple shipments or one shipment (a la Amazon) but that's the future. We don't have that right now.
  18. the inevitable- http://twitter.com/kingsroadmerch is probably good to follow for all updates, going live and so on. Follow that shit if you want. It's total commerce tweeting, but it is for all of our webstores, not just Epitaph & Anti, but also Tom Waits, Converge, Set Your Goals and other shit we will be working with in 2010. New updates, new items, sales, specials, free-bies, items of the day, and random thoughts about shit as we seem fit. Expect things to go up about 8-9am PST. It all depends but it'll be early. For those wanting news on the skipping records, I got your emails over the weekend. Our warehouse is just getting back. Expect some movement on this Wednesday/Thursday.
  19. Traditionally speaking, black will be the main color, yes. However, in the case of Punk In Drublic, it was being repressed anyways and I selfishly thought that beer colored vinyl would be a rad idea. No collector purpose/reason to it other than it's rad and I can derive some existential artistic purpose from it. Almost all Epitaph vinyl, with a few exceptions, was on black vinyl. So it's kind of disingenuous for me to go out and say "holy shit, FIRST PRESS ON RED" or do some fifteen variant pressings for a record that's 13 years old because some of these have thousands on black vinyl out in the world and that's stupid. But yeah-for these re-presses, there's going to be a color or two on the first press, then black or a standard version. With new records, say, Frank Turner, there's a first press, the 2nd press might be a new or unique color, and it goes from there. Even the new alkaline trio record is only two colors and black vinyl.
  20. I think it's a combination of a lot of things. Some of these records are kind of long, so the grooves are really tight together. Any variable of settings, needles, arm weight and so on can have different results because of compressed grooves. Most of these records were mastered when vinyl was an afterthought, so we've had to go back and re-test press the records to make sure they still sound up to standards (Descendents-Everything Sucks sounds fucking awesome). It does me no good to have people with skipping records, and even if someone's a mongoloid who can't figure out a turntable and the record's fine or we sent you a warped, skipping piece of shit- we'll still try to fix the issue.
  21. S&M Airlines has been repressed with all original parts on black & color. Saw it before the holiday. It's been a LONG time since this was pressed on vinyl. Punk In Drublic was repressed on black and a new color. I'm bad at secrets. Love Ire & Song passed on its 2nd test press run so pre-ordering will be Tuesday and technical street Date is Feb 16th, but I'd expect it to ship sooner, more like end of the month. Poetry of the Deed is still being re-test pressed.
