  1. Hell, the way this band's stuff goes, I wouldn't be surprised if they were out by the Chicago show.
  2. Ampeg 8x10" The granddaddy of all bass speakers. It's mid-late 70's, so it's American made & it was built with better wood than the new ones. People tend to like these older speakers better too. Great cabinet. I'm only selling it because I had to get something I could fit in my car. Price negotiable, and I'm more willing to wheel and deal with someone on here than some random dude, so message me if interested. Hartke 4x10" bass cab. it's a bit older (early-mid 90s) so it's got a much better enclosure and better speakers than the ones you can buy new now. Just better wood (anyone who seen/handled both an older and newer one knows what I mean) and the speakers were still being made from soild aluminum back then. Plus it has metal fold-out handles (none of that plastic shit) and casters. It's honestly a fantastic cabinet & I'd probably still be using it if I hadn't switched to a higher wattage amp. 8 ohms, 240 watts. It works fine with 300 watt amps (I used it this way for many years), but a 400 watt heads drives it a bit too much. $150 OBO.
  3. Yeah, definitely first time on vinyl for the 2xCD discography collection. But the real question is are they finally including the track from the Underdog Records comp.......Looks like no. It also looks like the vinyl version is missing a bunch of tracks. Unfortunate, but I guess unavoidable.
  4. Okay, so the first batch of orders (anything ordered before today) has gone out. And everyone got the color inserts! Hope you all enjoy it.
  5. Hey, you're the one who tagged us with the dreaded "potential" tag, not me .
  6. Alright, fine. This record blows and the next one will be better. Buy it anyway!
  7. Alright, here are some pics. Cover: B-side: Insert, although the photo doesn't really do it justice: And the record release show version, although these are gone already:
  8. There's a Drop Dead LP that does this too, and I want to say one of the versions of the Converge/Hellchild split LP?
  9. Features a Fighters cover, for all of you pop punk nerds.
  10. Yeah, Plastic Airlines. www.plasticairlines.com www.myspace.com/plasticairlines I don't have a listing up for it yet, but I will soon. Our record release show will be on April 17th at the Mutiny in Chicago. Should have the test pressings literally any day now. We ordered 35 test presses, which we're going to sell as a record release show version, and then there will be 300 regular copies. We'll probably hook up some sort of ghetto download too. Screened B-sides! Should be cool.
  11. You should message user thisisahiijack - he might want some of the Chicago-related stuff, particularly the Walker test if I didn't trade him one already (I can't remember what all he has, but he is by far the biggest collector of my label's stuff that I don't know in person). Are these still your friend's records that you were selling?
  12. Yeah, probably - I guess it depends on how long of a 45 you're talking about. My main point is just that I don't want someone who is new to this to be like "it will hold up to 25 minutes a side? Great!" and then get the records and be like "why does it sound all quiet and shitty?"
  13. That Crumbsuckers LP is the metal equivalent of having at least one J Church record. Even if you aren't a fan & you have no memory of acquiring it, everyone still seems to have a least one. I think everyone I know who even vaguely likes metal has that thing. I also live in Chicago and also have a decorative fireplace. Based on what little I can see in the picture & the other stuff he has around it, I would guess decorative for his as well, or at very least unused. I was also really surprised at how many of the same tapes I have. But I think we're about the same age & I was also into metal before I got into punk, so it makes sense. But yeah, he’s even got Blood Feast.
  14. Thanks. Let me know what you think of it too. Other than Justin telling me it's awesome, I get like zero feedback on this thing.
  15. http://www.aardvarkmastering.com/ Slightly more detailed references. The thing to keep in mind is that it's not like a CD where it either fits or it doesn't. Shorter side = wider and deeper grooves = better sound. So, like a long 45 would probably be better off as a short 33, etc.
  16. Opps - sorry. I didn't realize there was a second page to this thread. That was in response to the discussion of hiding one's ska past at the bottom of the first page.
  17. You couldn't hide it even if you wanted to. Too many of us remember that OG "PatchedPlaid" email address
  18. I guess the Vindictives have an unreleased album? I remember Angel (their drummer for awhile later on - not that they ever played a show during this time or anything - he was in VReverse before this) telling me about how they made this (in his opinion) amazing album that made the label totally freak out because it wasn't punk enough. I don't remember the details, but he wasn't the type of dude to make stuff up/exaggerate.
  19. Wow, I think you may have put more thought into the evolution of the band than I did . It was never an intentional process, but I guess it was natural/inevitable as we got older. Funny, because I think we actually put a lot less thought into the song writing later on to be honest, but the songs were written over a longer period of time than those on the first two records, so I guess that may have made things sound more "evolved". Yeah, the vocals are a common knock on that album, and I can totally understand why. I've heard that sentiment a lot - great music, but the vocals totally ruin it. I think Michelle just had a lot more going on during that time than she did when the band was newer, and so she wasn't able to put the time into the vocals like she had initially. And to be fair, we never made things easier on her. For example, shortly after we recorded everything it hit me how the song "Taken" was written completely out of her vocal range & we absolutely should have changed the key to make it easier for her to sing. Common sense stuff like that.
  20. Geeze - I didn't even notice the test there in that pic. Duh . Glad I could help you there. Well worth it for me since I had wanted that 10" with the 7" forever. Probably way less than 500 for those tapes. Maybe even less than 300. I honestly don't remember. I'll check the songs that are on them & we can double check which ones ended up on other things.
  21. Been meaning to put this up for awhile. My band Iron Reminders has a new LP. 10 songs, limited to 100 copies, and available now if anyone is interested in checking it out. mbrs of He Who Corrupts, Social Coma, Long Live Nothing, Letterbombs, Wayouts, blah blah blah. I guess it's melodic hardcore. I don't know - you tell me. Reckless described it as "Midwest punk with a slight MINUTEMEN slant meets INFEST". $10 post-paid US (although a buck or two for fees would be appreciated). Please get in touch for international rates. To order, please go to http://www.plasticairlines.com or just paypal $10 to harmlessrecords at gmail & mention what you want in the memo. If you'd like to check it out first or just want the MP3s (we're essentially giving it away - the LPs are just for those who want a tangible copy), as promised in the subject line, here's a link to MP3s of the whole album. Please feel free to download it & let me know what you think. http://www.mediafire.com/?mhtdjo2wim1
  22. Did the stuff from those early tapes ever get reissued? I want to say Mutant Pop put out a CD or two with that stuff, no? I have all of that stuff and could maybe rip it someday if not.
