rudeboydh reacted to 16RPM in Lillingtons 6xLP Boxset
If anyone has a problem with any of your records, and all you're doing is posting on this forum that it sucks and you don't go to the source of your complaint (me, the person you bought it from), then all you're doing is BITCHING. Nobody has PM'd me saying "hey there, my record skips, what do I need to do". Talk minus action equals zero or in this case, bitching....
Stop complaining and write me so we can take care of any issue....
Thank you and have a great day......
Todd

ehh... I have some "coping mechanisms" if you know what I mean.
It's just been really bad lately... I've been getting awkward unwanted boners like all fucking week...

^ agreed 100%! I also don't think it'd hurt the band that much, seeing as once they get in, they'd probably buy something too. Any campaign that says "if we reach X amount of $ we can fix our van and tour!", pledgers should get in for free.

I'm inclined toward this viewpoint, however there have been some blatant examples of campaigns that take advantage of the fans. The most common one is probably raising money for touring. Do those fans get a free ticket? Never in any that I've seen. If they're funding the tour, they should be getting in for free.

I really like that idea of using it for first press stuff.

This is an acceptable fashion for a fellow who works in SoHo and finds the tights with no pants trend far more disturbing. I'm all for people being comfortable in your body but if the item doesn't fit, or your fat is busting out, then please don't engage. It's ok to know your limits in life.

NOPE, my ebay user ID is 16RPM as is every user ID I own.
I had 15 test pressing sets I could have sold for a boat load and I gave those away.
I have no need to secretly sell a tie dye set.
Cheers,
Todd

Yes, thank you Todd for putting this out, and I think all of us can't wait for the TBR box you've got comming next. I'll definately be on top of that one to get the variant I wanted. I loved seeing all the updates on this, and how you kept us all updated on your progress.
My first experience with the Lillingtons was when I picked up Death by TV at a record store in Charleston SC for $7. I had no idea who the band was, and only recognized the label they were on was a punk label. Bought it on a whim. Took it home, not knowing what to expect and on first listen I was hooked. Finding that record was just one of those experiences in record collecting that makes you get hooked on collecting. Just finding something you have no idea what it is and growing to love it. That record has a very special place in my heart cause it was one of the first really great additions to my collection. And now I have their complete works and couldn't be more excited! Thanks so much Todd for everything you've done with this release!

Hey, everybody ....catch ya breath!!! Its not about who got what or who flips what.
The issue is really about the great folks at Clearview. Todd, Dede and all others associated with the effort. They are GREAT folks and really creative with their presentation of vairants over the years...Ramones covers, Lillingtons CD boxed sets, Ice Age boxed sets....etc. It takes a massive effort to put together projects like this while still having to work a day job. And I understand for very little profit.
Tip of the hat for a job well done...maybe yall can get some sleep in a couple of weeks. Dont let all the bitchin get ya down. Keep up the good work...Keep the cool ideas comin!!! From a long time Clearview fan.....Ray

Your label your call. I would just suggest that if you were to make variants for TBR (I'm sure you have something new kicking around in your brain) try to keep the variants /100 or greater. TBR is probably more popular anyways, just cause they are currently active. If doing higher numbers of the variants raises the manufacturing cost, tack an extra $10 on to the price or whatever. People will gladly pay it. Making the variants more common will create less ebay-incentive (it will still be there) and people will have a better chance at getting the variant they are targeting. It's a balancing act and there is no correct answer as to what the right pressing numbers are (ie, someone will always be unhappy).
If you want to do a friends and family press /25 (say, the metal boxes you are fond of), then that's cool. Keep it to friends and family (ie, put them in the hands of people you know support the label) and tell anyone who complains "tough, start your own label if you don't like it".
my 2 cents.

I beleive the metal covers will hit the post office Thursday.
We only picked them up Saturday and there were other packaged posted before that and I can only fit 15 in the car at once.
It honesly is almost a religious experiance.
I was able to give Kody all the versions of all the records and the metal blew his ass away.
He said this blows away the TBR sleeve.
It is AWESOME!!!!!

Never understood the purpose of having 2 album tracks on a 7". I want a hit and a non-album track. Or at least an alternate version or something.

rudeboydh reacted to mybabyxsmokes in Has the vinyl revival gone too far?
i agree with this to an extent. i mean far be it from me to judge what someone should be stoked about being reissued. i guess it just strikes me as a total major label cash in thing. record store day, fleetwood mac represses, its all steeped in the ability of major labels to make more money off something again AND again, when perfectly acceptable copies of it exist, at half the price, all over the world.
the real issue is misguided people who think its worthwhile to press something over and over again to appease "collectors" whose collection is the 15 versions of the same record that only came out 18 months earlier. now THATS a waste of resources.

As did I, but I think my LP that set me off was Hot Tuna
In truth though I knew the revival had gone too far way before this when Minus the Bear were selling package lots of the same LP on 5 different colors. Stuff like that is so dumb I can't even describe.

Well I wouldn't say I flipped the shoes? I mean I had them for 6 or 7 years. So I guess going by your logic.... Everyone who sells something on ebay is flipping it? What about my Stars Wars figures... I got when I was five? If I put them on ebay...would that be flipping them too?
