  6. Two days left in the contest. Thanks to everyone who's entered so far.
  7. As I've been cleaning out my basement, I keep coming across weird-ass stuff. Once upon a time, I worked for the Ignition Records street team. The only thing worth a crap that they ever put out was Spring Heeled Jack's Songs From Suburbia. Buried in my basement, I found the following for that record: 1 promo poster slightly beat, with pin holes and tape and folds, but other wise untorn 1 promo cassette, sealed, with the songs "Jolene" and "Pop Song (Green)" 1 promo sticker 1 promo postcard Selling it as a lot. Make me an offer.
  8. Win a copy of the Dinner For Schmucks soundtrack. All it takes is an e-mail to me. http://www.nuthousepunks.com/blog/?p=947 Also, a new podcast, which has my interview with Tony Rettman, as well as a bunch of Detroit hardcore. http://www.nuthousepunks.com/blog/?p=941
  9. Well, it's an old song, but they never released it. http://app.topspin.net/fbshare/ARTIST/2719/E29193/?fv=theme-black|highlightColor-0xfffffff|smoothing-true&w=600&h=450 B-sides collection due out a week from Tuesday.
  10. Those Elliott and Drop Dead records end tomorrow and can be had for a song.
  11. So, you consider yourself an Ultimate Fakebook fan? You've got the split with the Stereo, the "One Man's Trash" compilation with "Necktie Saturday Night," and all the various pressings of "This Will Be Laughing Week," "Electric Kissing Parties" "Before We Spark," and "Open Up and Say Awesome" (even the Dutch version). You're even voting via the Rocket Heart Twitter to see which album gets pressed to vinyl first. However...I doubt you have this cassette. Self-released in 1994, it's the first thing UFB ever put out, and is a six-song, double-sided cassette with the following songs: Visitors From the Sky Spit and Drool Dance the Dying Sway Crooked Grin Here Comes Egg Angel Glitter Sweet A warning: this sounds very little like the UFB that you know. While the Weezer-esque guitars pop up from time to time, the lead vocals are by someone else other than Bill McShane, and this is pretty much just for that super-fan who has to have everything. If that's you, make me an offer.
  12. http://search.ebay.com/_W0QQsassZthenuthouseQQhtZ-1 Ending Sunday: X - Unclogged Infidelity Records, 1995 Recorded at Noe Valley Ministries Church, San Francisco, November 1994 Infidelity Records was X's indie imprint, and Unclogged seems to be the only thing they ever put out. I cannot find a lick of pressing info on this vinyl release. I have no idea how many copies exist. It's listed on various X discographies as having been pressed on LP, as well as CD, but I can't find a record of another copy ever popping up anywhere. The track listing is the same as the CD release, although the cover is different. In other words, if you're a fan of the band with Exene Cervenka, John Doe, DJ Bonebrake, and Billy Zoom, this is a definite must-have. The sleeve is a little dinged up, with both lower left and right corners slightly bent. There's shelf wear, but the seams are 100% intact. The LP itself is in VG+ to NM condition, with only a little wear on the lead-out groove, most likely due to being pressed against other records in storage. Schlong/False Sacrament split Very Small Records, 1992 10" black vinyl Schlong features Dave Mello of Operation Ivy. Like most everything on Very Small, this sucker's out of print.
  13. Somebody was looking for this. I can get it.
  14. You want good sound, go for tube amps. Get some good electrostatic speakers. Save your pennies and get some Martin Logans. They'll cost as much as a good used car, but you'll have them forever.
  15. You buy enough thrift store or bargain bin LPs, you'll start keeping Gorilla Glue on hand at all times.
