There's not a whole lot from other drop that I'm two excited about.

I do want the Prince release and it should be easy to get with the pressing numbers. I want the King's X releases too but they're not big enough to where those will sell out

Yeah the only thing for me in July's drop is that KMD record & the R. Stevie Moore boxset, which looks to be an UK thing. That Small Faces comp would be neat too, but I have waaaay too much stuff in June to buy.

Emotional intelligence of a fucking monkey lmao.

Says the guy who think anyone cares how you feel about having to cancel a variant PO you don't like anymore. Says the emotional retard how would literally admit to trolling, and pretend "white Republican" would even stick to a Canadian. Take the L that you're a dumb Yankee Doodle loser and stop replying.

There were 4 more sentences after the one you chose to stop on.  Thanks for defining what constitutes "an essay" by your standards.  No wonder you're so opposed to actually reading threads for useful links.  It's all coming full circle now.  I hope you can eventually sort out your fear of literature before adulthood.

Also lol @ me being the one who's "easily worked up" over this reoccurring debate when you're the one who took the time to drum up the "sPoOnFeD" comment in the first place.  Seems like some residual butthurt to me, especially since that's from an entirely separate thread from a day or two ago.  I'd argue that you're the one bent out of shape over this, but your skewed rationalization continues to entertain, so keep it up I guess.

tl;dr – sorry you're scared of reading and still mad that people are more resourceful than you.  If VC still allowed color and size with text formatting, I'd make this last bit big and bright for baby to process with minimal effort.

Calling your blather "literature" is delusion, confirmed. Also, delusion = pretending that my casual one-sentence post is worth your paragraphs of triggered blather in the first place.

No one cares about your weird vendetta against stl_ben btw. It's certainly not worth making anyone else have check the updated release thread of an album they don't like on the off-chance that a bunch of new releases by the band got posted there rather than separate new threads being made for each, just to make the scalpers you have a decades-plus personal vendetta against have to do some extra work.

Here's the thing: If it's *that* important for you as a cause, how about instead of all this bullshit about spoonfeed, you actually take it up with the mods and petition to have them banned from the forum, rather than advocate for a sloppy, lazy, inexplicably-fearful-of-new-threads culture in the forums?

Haha, why are you still so salty about this concept?

Just laughing at the hypocrisy of it all. Didn't read the rest of your essay. You seem easily worked-up about this so the rest of your reply was likely all psychological projection as well.

You could have replied in the other thread instead of being so incredibly white republican about it.

LMAO dude take your anger about a second variant being better than the first you bought out on someone else (maybe yourself?). I'm here to mock the rampant delusion that manifests here at the drop of a hat. Also, I'll reply where I please.

EDIT: The only thing wHiTe REpUbLiCaN here is your white-bro entitlement to "snark for me but not snark for thee".

P.S. being snarky is universal and transcends politics.
P.P.S. You think Toronto = USA. You're plain dumb.

  5. Grant Gee did the famous Radiohead documentary Meeting People Is Easy. I sat through Patience (After Sebald) but only because I was wired on caffeine.

It's a good documentary, but the score does make you want to nod off a bit (although IIRC there's a lot of "shortwave" sounds included, since there's a strong WW2 theme).

But mostly after 20 minutes, IMO, you're going to come away with the feeling that you'd rather read Sebald than sit through a 90 minute ambient hype-doc about him.

  6. I really don't get this "spoonfed" discourse. So the idea of this forum is to make it both easier and more difficult to buy records, especially stuff that sells-out via direct PO rather than shipping to stores. Sounds Kafkaesque at best.

  7. I really appreciate that a major aspect of the last couple of albums have been to finally have a studio recording of their epic side-long dirges that were live-only staples and drove a lot of the intense bootlegging of GY!BE shows for decades, and otherwise compose albums that are inspired by the live noise-jam approach.

But I've been looking forward to this album for the reason that @wuhanclan mentions; more song-y approach.

I think it's totally cool if a CD version of an album differs from the vinyl version, and Nadja seem to embrace that idea.

💯so long as the vinyl version doesn't subtracts songs. Go for that 3-sided 2xLP rather than thinking editing songs out to make it a 1xLP is doing us a solid, just because the value proposition of a lower price-point is better.

And depending on the artist/band, you sometimes wonder why they can't just come up with a 10-plus minute jam piece to fill out that fourth side (or be Neko Case and do a sound-collage of frog choruses for those bog/swamp vibes).

Anyone remember the first RSD where it was just a fun day celebrating stores that were still open in this day and age?

Honestly it was as high-pressure, packed and Black Friday-tier uncomfortable as any other for me. Had never seen so many overpriced vinyl releases either, so I actually feel a big part of the fun of the hobby died that day for me, now that I think about it.

the downside to RSD being pushed back 2 months is that we probably won't get our first hint of whats coming until April.

Considering that there's always a few RSD titles that don't actually materialize (with little attempt at updating the list) each time, maybe that's a good thing. We might see the most accurate RSD list in ages.

Still waiting on that Dirty Three boxset from last year.

Next pressing is Old 97s’ Fight Songs, an album I really like but I don’t quite “$50 3LP deluxe edition with remix and demos LPs”  like.

I would have been ok with just a 2xLP (I don't care about editions that have both the OG master and a new vinyl remaster), or just a remaster LP.

For a 3xLP, I would have rather had some live tracks.

    I'm gonna buy it anyway.

  11. The thing about ultra-scarce runs is, I never want to play them out, or play them even once whereas I'll play the fuck out of variants that go for so much as $200 bucks without a care, so long as they were out of /300 or more (or out of /100 if we're talking uber-local bands) when I bought them.

I don't know if that's anywhere near where anyone else's mindset is.

  12. So did anyone catch what the hand-poured edition of FUF3 that went onsale about four hours ago looked like and how much it went for?

I wasn't going to seriously try to buy one (a little too broke/saving for other "drops" this week, and also Rad Cult's non-hand-poured variants are awesome regardless) but I'm curious and don't want to wait until September 2021 to look at some dodgy Discogs pics of it.
