  1. Montreal, Quebec's SONIC AVENUES just released the best record of 2012. Dirtnap Records are doing the American LP/CD, Taken By Surprise and Sabotage Records are doing the European versions, and Hosehead Records is doing the cassette. 2. I was used my LP copy of the ASOB album as a reference to DIY culture in punk rock in an economics speech in highschool. "No bacodes, no bullshit". True fuckin' story.
  3. The Briefs on Sub Pop Nickelback on Road Runner
  4. i had a onkyo that never gave me problems in 5 years of having it, not once have i had to fix anything. good times. with a cd' player, you'd probably have to get one of those generic home systems that are all in one. i don't really care for those. I've got a Pioneer home system with a CD player, duel tape deck and stereo receiver (which I use for my turntable as well) and can't say a single bad thing about it. Except I guess it's size, but it'd better than having all the components separately.
  5. All this coming from the dude who bitches about new records coming without shrinkwrap.
  6. Will definitely buy this + a couple other records once it's out.
  7. The difference is how much cheaper tapes are for bands to afford. Most bands can't afford to put their demo out on 7", but a small run of cassettes isn't so hard on the wallet. I love tapes as a medium. I listen to them whenever I drive. I just bought the new Marverlous Darlings tape last night.
  8. Marvelous Darlings - Single Life www.derangedrecords.com/vinyldownload code: 12-4047TQG543 Good for one more download in the next 24 hours.
  9. I also have a clear Canyoneer if you want to send me your list/a cash offer.
  10. These guys were boring even when they played small clubs in Oshawa.
  11. True, but tapes not so much. They certainly aren't for everyone. We get a lot of flak for doing tapes, but the people who buy them seem to really enjoy them.
  12. For anyone who hasn't heard the bands before. White Wires RIYL Nobunny, First Base, The Ramones Sam Coffey and the Iron Lungs RIYL Black Lips, Demon's Claws, The Ramones The Shakey Aches RIYL Elvis Costello, Steve Adamyk Band, The Ramones
  13. Hosehead Records put out two new tapes today: Ottawa, Ontario's White Wires - WWII, and a split between Sam Coffey and the Iron Lungs (Waterloo/Toronto) and The Shakey Aches (Ottawa). Both are limited to 100 tapes. Pick them up in our webstore http://hoseheadrecords.bigcartel.com/ http://www.facebook.com/HoseheadRecords White Wires - WWII Sam Coffey and the Iron Lungs/The Shakey Aches - Banana Split We also made our first t shirt to go along with the White Wires tape. 14. You guys should all check out "All To Myself" by Sam Coffey And The Iron Lungs. Seriously one of the coolest garage songs I've heard in years.
  15. The last LP I got from the states was marked $4.92.
