  1. for those in the US who got this today, did your paper have the white slip of paper that had the unique code? It seems that some places had it and some places didn't.
  2. I need one of these, so if you have an extra, let me know. I can even send you one of those NOFX Hot Topic exclusive color LPs still sealed in return.
  3. Nothing except for the quantity....US is getting 2000 copies, UK is only getting 500. Otherwise the release is the same.

  6. Very cool!! Thanks for posting this. I wondered when this was going to be announced. They had mentioned on the pre-order for King of Limbs that a random person would get a signed 12", so I'd guess this must be the release for it. Hope it comes the US or is at least split 1000 copies for UK/Europe and 1000 for US/Canada.

  8. I wasn't referring to anybody, but rather pointing out that if you had pre-ordered any of the items originally, the website had listed a shipping date of 4/1/10. That date changed today to 4/18/10, so if anyone had pre-ordered these with the sole intention of flipping them on Ebay, because they were going to supposedly get them in advance of RSD, that is now no longer an option. That is all I was pointing out/noticing. Thanks for the heads up on the link, Polyvinyl only made 100-200 copies available for mail order to offset their costs to produce the items. So it is a good thing to allow those to get these at face value (stores would like charge $1-2 more) and not have to worry on RSD if your store has it or not.
  9. Note that these will now ship April 18th instead of April 1st, so nobody can get theirs before RSD
  10. I don't disagree with some of what you are saying. There are over 1400 stores listed on the RSD website. Only 587 signed the pledge. So the ones that didn't sign the pledge, will fall into the category you stated above. What I am curious to see and will be "testing" are those stores who did sign the pledge, to see if they will have product available on Sunday at essentially face value. It is the first year of the pledge, so we'll see if it makes a difference or not. After all, the stores that did sign the pledge got "first dibs" on limited/priority product, so in theory, they should have a larger inventory available and potential for leftover items. At the end of the day it will probably be a crap shoot, but I'll take the chance and test it out. What I fear will happen is that the pledge stores will hold back some inventory and when their 30 day window is up, then will sell the rarest of the rare (e.g. one of those clear vinyl side by side 7" that only 100 will be made)
  11. If you are in the Netherlands, then you could check this out: http://www.recordstoreday.nl They should list the stores in your are that are participating.
  12. Remember, that you have "the pledge" this year. So if you don't have a RSD store near you, then you can go online on Sunday and anything the store has leftover will be put online at the *same* price as in store. So if the Mastodon/ZZTop split is $8.99 in store, it will be $8.99 online. Pledge stores can not sell on Ebay until 30 days after RSD. If you find the websites for most of the stores in the Coalition of Independent Music Stores (www.cimsmusic.com) and Association of Independent Music Stores (www.thealliancerocks.com), bookmark their websites and shoot them an e-mail saturday night/sunday morning, you have a pretty good chance of finding an item that was sold out at your store or your store didn't get in. Just FYI, everyone shouldn't have to resort to Ebay right away, hopefully. List of pledge stores from the Record Store Day website is here (Pledge was due on Jan 11th, so I don't know if stores were able to sign it after the fact): http://www.recordstoreday.com/Page/1032
  13. It is on there, on the 3rd list for "regional in nature, or very small runs" Ironically, the Superchunk Merge release "Here's Where the Strings Come In", is NOT listed...heh. Sure Merge is happy about that.
  14. It is there, on the 3rd list for rare/regional items. Town Comp limited to 800 copies.
  15. They still have time to order it, give them the link I provided to ilcdistro above....if they have an account, they might be able to get it for you in time.
  16. Ok, I'm good now. Just had to get it off my chest. Can I trademark the Captain Collector name?
  17. I was able to get a Dalek too (finally--thanks for posting), surprised that so many of us got one, considering the pressing amount. Must have made a lot available, but very few (5 tops) of the other 2. That CD box is sweet and those Hammerhead sleeves at $100/each are nice, but too pricey.
  18. I am sorry, but that is just unacceptable. How do you have a incomplete list almost 3 weeks before the event??? You have the list broken into 3 groups, some of the numbers/quantities seem to be different than a label's own press release. Where is the City and Colour? Where are the 4 Revelation Record Releases? What about the stuff just announced yesterday by Spinefarm? Are the Spinefarm releases all UK only? I know for a fact that Record stores have had this list, exactly as it shown, in their inbox to review/vet for nearly 2 weeks. How does a store not let the RSD people know about releases missing? Hell, where is the Porchlight guy who *personally* told us here that he helped pack the Earth LP on Green Vinyl (not on the list) to get that release listed? Last time I checked, I can go to http://www.ilcdistro.com/site/new and find their RSD PDF and see what markets these limited 7"s are likely going to be at. This is the *FOURTH* year of RSD, not the first. I know it is run by volunteers, but get your SHIT together. This isn't amateur hour. This is what happens when you have nearly 300 items, people start doing things half-ass. It's even worse overseas. You have a UK list and a list from the Netherlands that don't even jive. So are we going to have a unique RSD event for each country in Europe? That'd be a clusterfuck of epic proportions. I guess the good thing is that the list could be edited/updated. And it needs to be done quickly. We haven't even heard what crazy release(s) that Jack White's Third Man Records are doing this year (he did his announcement late last year, but got the Raconteurs 180g repress out to a lot of stores). It is just frustrating when these releases are planned since January and you have 4 months to get this shit organized and planned and it comes out incomplete. It's like buying a car without an engine. Rant over.
  19. Press release: As regular manufacturers of vinyl, and proud of it, Spinefarm Records are delighted to be celebrating Record Store Day on April 16, 2011 with six seven-inch singles featuring tracks from some of the key artists on the label. All of the singles will be strictly limited to 300 copies and will come in a Spinefarm Records house bag specifically designed for the event. The full list of releases is as follows: Single 1: RAMMSTEIN - "Waidmann's Heil" / "Liebe Ist Für Alle Da". Both tracks are taken from the Berlin band's current "Liebe Ist Für Alle Da" album. Single 2: FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH - "Falling In Hate" / "Far From Home". Both tracks are taken from the U.S. band's current "War Is The Answer" album, now approaching gold status at home. Single 3: CHILDREN OF BODOM / KILLING JOKE - "Northpole Throwdown" / "Fresh Fever From The Skies". The COB track is taken from the Finnish band's just-released "Relentless, Reckless Forever" album, while the KILLING JOKE track comes from their latest "Absolute Dissent" release. Single 4: HELLYEAH / JETTBLACK - "Pole Rider" / "When It Comes To Lovin'". The HELLYEAH track is taken from the U.S. crew's second "Stampede" album, while the JETTBLACK track is taken from the U.K. band's "Get Your Hands Dirty" debut album. JETTBLACK will be taking time out from the recording of the follow-up to "Get Your Hands Dirty" to sign copies of the seven-inch single and play an acoustic set at The Rock Box in Camberley (Surrey, England) at 1 p.m. on April 16. Single 5: HELLOWEEN / APOCALYPTICA - "The Sage, The Fool, The Sinner" / "Bring Them To Light". The HELLOWEEN track is taken from their latest "7 Sinners" album, while the APOCALYPTICA track (featuring GOJIRA's Joe Duplantier on guest vocals) comes from their most recent "7th Symphony" release. Single 6: THE ANSWER - "Rock 'n' Roll Outlaw" / "Fooled Me" (demo). Both tracks are exclusive to this release. "Rock 'n' Roll Outlaw" is a cover of the ROSE TATTOO classic (1978), while "Fooled Me" is a demo recording of a track at one point in contention for the Irish band's third studio album, currently being mixed. About Record Store Day: Record Store Day is managed by the Music Monitor Network and is organized in partnership with the Alliance of Independent Media Stores (AIMS), the Coalition of Independent Music Stores (CIMS) and celebrates the culture of independent record stores by playing host to in-store events/performances, signings and special product releases on a global scale. Record Store Day takes place annually on the third Saturday of April. For more information on exclusive Record Store Day events, products and participants, visit www.recordstoreday.com.
  20. According to that link, the 12" is limited to just 300 copies....really surprised. Hope everyone who wants one will be able to get one. I see a lot of cancelled or unfilled orders coming up.
  21. www.recordstore.co.uk does have some available and according to their listing for the 12", it is limited to just 300 copies (which I find hard to believe, but could be wrong).

  23. That is due to the new "pledge" that stores had to sign and agree to to be able to get 'first dibs' on the Record Store day items (To date, 587 stores have agreed to it). The pledge states that any unsold RSD product, can go to a music store's online webstore the next day, at the *same* price it is in the store. So if the Mastodon/ZZTop single is $8.99 in store, it is $8.99 on the website. Stores are *not* allowed to sell any RSD items on Ebay, until 30 days after RSD. Pretty good idea, if you ask me. You can read the full pledge in the Eric Levin (RSD Co-Founder) interview at http://new-vinyl.blogspot.com
  24. Full Foo Fighters Track Listing: 1. Band On The Run 2. I Feel Free 3. Life of Illusion 4. Young Man Blues 5. Bad Reputation 6. Darling Nikki 7. Down In The Park 8. Baker Street 9. Danny Says 10. Have A Cigar 11. Never Talking To You Again 12. Gas Chamber 13. This Will Be Our Year
  25. The Cavity Records twitter listed that it was coming out for RSD....search that.
