  1. Not to be the forum police, but this should go in Everything Else...
  2. But there's also the thought of "I'll get it when I get it," considering it's readily in print. You'll probably stumble across it used in a store somewhere.
  3. Eh, even as a big HWM fan, I think those songs on that split are pretty weak. Not to mention the re-recording of "The Bitter End" doesn't even come close to the one on the split with Six Going On Seven (also on Never Ender).
  4. Which CDs were they giving away? I still need the Anthology (brown cover) one, I've never been able to find it... I don't suppose you grabbed any?
  5. i love it when you pitch a trade with people. it's like frank costanza has records he wants to get rid of. LET'S DO THIS, BAYBEEE! BRO! MANZIERE! BRO! MANZIERE!
  6. I bought a house a year ago and my parents drove out to help me move, bringing all my boxes from their home with them -- including my Sega Genesis. That shit was hooked up as soon as I got my TV plugged in. Streets Of Rage 2 ftw!
  7. Were you the person looking for Black Cross/Widows stuff on here the other day? I have the "Stops A Beating Heart" 10" on Reflections I'd be more than willing to trade/sell, if you want it...
  8. Did anyone's come with an LP insert? I bought mine from the band at a show a few months ago but there was no insert.
  9. Anyone could print those stickers up off their computer with the right paper. It's not difficult. The "official" Remains (I'm going by what I picked up in Hot Topic, which was obviously an official release) had a circular black sticker saying it was colored vinyl, not a generic white one with a common font. I think you both got duped. As for the Turqiose one with the same white sticker -- it's entirely possible (and probable) that whoever you bought it from opened it up to verify the color, then resealed it (also not hard to do) and put a specific color sticker on it.
  10. It looks like you can see it on the LP cover (look in the top right-hand corner of the green/grey split area). It looks to be a white sticker with black text that someone just printed up and slapped on there. I don't believe it's legit at all, personally.
  11. so i listened to this thing today (it just arrived yesterday) and i cannot even believe how fucking good these songs are (although i have to admit i'm not that hot on the first wollard track). i can't find a download of it anywhere, but if anyone finds it online i would love to have this in my car. I also just played it for the first time, and wow, those Mike Hale songs are something else. Didn't expect that at all -- reminded me more of Rocky Votolato than Gunmoll. Wollard's half was alright (and he was the reason I bought the record), but Hale wins this one easily.
  12. I might actually start posting there frequently again. The negativity there in recent months/years has just been so overwhelming.
  13. I think Blake hit his stride for three records -- 24 Hour Revenge Therapy, Dear You and Orange Rhyming Dictionary. There were flashes of greatness both before and after that time period, but to me, those are the only three essential records by him that someone needs to own.
  14. Some friends of mine got married last summer and "Sweet Avenue" was actually one of the songs they had the band learn. Of course, the band was comprised of their friends, too, so it wasn't like it was a bizarre request. But it was still awesome.
  15. Seconded! You just turned 23, and that's my lucky number. Somehow this means you will have a good day today.
  16. Maybe buying him http://www.mefirstandthegimmegimmes.com would be a step in the right direction: http://cgi.ebay.com/Me-first-and-the-gimme-gimmes-com-punk-rock-fans-LOOK_W0QQitemZ130147715991
  17. Great work, Yu! And I loved your idea about a Suicide Machines box set -- hell, even a SideOneDummy-era bundle would be fine with me.
  18. really? you hated it? but they really seemed like a different band from ORD to FCN. did people just not like FCN? and i think Perfecting was the FCN band, but more focused and a lot darker. i actually thought some of ORD's songs were too long and stretched out, and kind of weird (Resistance is Futile??). also for the fact that i can't listen to "I Typed For Miles" without thinking of "Heart Shaped Box" I don't hate any of their records, but I'm of the opinion that ORD was phe-fucking-nomenal and after that, it was a slow descent into "meh"-ness. I mean, c'mon: "Rocket Boy"? And you say songs on ORD were too long and/or weird...
  19. I didn't know that it was that hard to find. The music store down the streets had it for a long time. Yeah, but you live in the Pacific Northwest. It's probably a lot more common of a find in record stores out there than in, say, Cleveland.
  20. I saw the singer of Sugar Ray get struck by lightning at the Chicago stop of the 1997 Warped Tour. IT WAS AWESOME.
