Apparently all the colored reissues are available at retail on 6/28. Amazon and Bullmoose have them for preorder. I haven't seen anything about these being limited.

I'd say get them while you fuckin' can, people.

Didn't even realize this was the case, I just happened to stop by my local record store today right as they were putting new stock out today. Didn't believe my eyes at first. Walked away with colored Punchbowl, Pork Soda, Debris, and Animals/People.

Everything matches the limited reissues: barcodes, runout stamps and etchings, etc. Given there was no subsequent announcement from the band about a repress of the colored reissue, I have to wonder if they held onto some of the stock to be sold through retailers and independent record stores.

I mean hell, there's still stock of limited, colored Brown Album, Rhinoplasty, and Animals/People on the band's webstore.

"How I learned" genuinely isn't really good. Completely forgettable. YRTA is their best work easily.  I can still go back to it today.

Duly noted lol. I agree with regard to YRTA. More polished than Frankenstein, more of the old attitude than "if".

Found a copy of YRTA 1st pressing signed by all members at my local record store. Scooped that up with a quickness. Pics soon.

  4. MSI was a guilty pleasure of mine in high school, now it's just a pleasure, albeit one I revisit sparsely. The lyrics are generally dumb, gross, or a combination of the two and the music is rough around the edges in its performance/production, but the tunes are good-to-great and they always felt genuine from "Tight" to "if". They have an energy and a sound that manages to draw me in.

Still on the fence about "How I Learned...", haven't listened since that one came out. I remember not being terribly impressed though.

#0060/1000, the packaging, record, and labels look sick. No complaints on sound quality. Well done, MOV

Damn, I'm a sucker for hip-hop 7", I might have to get the box set. I might also get the VMP for practical listening.

    Oh hey, are you me?

I only have one other hip-hop 7" boxset though, that being Dilla Donuts. Found it new, sealed, and pristine in the wild sometime last year. I think it was a record store in Orlando. Really glad to have the Dilla/DOOM/Ghost tracks physically.

They'll send you the exclusive variant and tell you to keep the black. Don't worry about it. they're good with customer service.

Here's hoping that's the case. I emailed them a few hours ago and have yet to hear back, but I'll let you guys know what happens.

Thanks to you guys that replied, at the very least you have put my mind at ease for now.

Still happy to have gotten all of the rest of these records finally:

1x - Jay Deelicious: The Delicious Vinyl Years Exclusive 3-LP

    1x - Pinata Exclusive 2 LP

1x - Floating Coffin Exclusive LP

1x - The Zombies' Greatest Hits Exclusive LP

1x - Odessey And Oracle Exclusive LP

1x - Mutilator Defeated At Last Exclusive LP

...and these arriving in a couple days:

1x - Gimme Fiction Exclusive LP

Did it have a hype sticker on it saying it was colour? That'd be messed up if it did and it was not (usually their colour editions are stickered).

Totally email them, their customer service i think is pretty good usually

No Newbury hype sticker, so I opened to verify color. It was listed as the colored exclusive version on the order sheet it shipped with though. I'll be steamed if they tell me they can't swap them because it's open.

  8. Alright, so I bought some items I had been waiting to pull the trigger on during the sale. They arrived today, but the copy of the Earth 2 exclusive edition I ordered arrived as a standard black vinyl. I had to open it to find this out. What are the odds that Newbury will honor the purchase and send me the correct item even though I opened the one they sent?

I would hope they do right by virtue of them sending me the wrong item, but this hasn't happened to me with them before.

Thanks in advance for any insight.

What gets me it the Vessel clear vinyl is still listed as Limited, they've been selling it for like 4 years

Not necessarily. Vinyl is really big wth the kids these days, if you haven’t heard. And it’s easier than ever for kids that are into this shit to buy records. I mean, if we were to have vinyl sales numbers for Blurryface, it would be fucking mind blowing.

I get what your saying, but I’m not sure you grasp how insanely dedicated this bands fans are and how many of them there are.

On Discogs, between all pressings of Vessel (red trans. and clear trans. with two pressings each, standard black with one pressing), maybe 6000 people are listed as having the album. Not a definite figure of course, but nowhere near 40K.

I have been to virtually no record store that sells new, sealed records that doesn't have at least one copy of the clear version that's been there forever.

2|1|p's core demographic tends toward streaming and radio, not vinyl records.

  10. Went to my local BAM and managed to snag the one copy they had. It wasn't on display, it was somewhere in the back of house in a sea of shipments they hadn't gotten around to putting in the store yet. Had to convince one of the employees to look back there for me. BAM is probably the least reliable, most headache-inducing retailer I've encountered when it comes to vinyl, but when they get some good shit pressed, it can be worth it.

Your username comes from a Bloodhound Gang song and includes the witty use of numbers for letters. In other words, get pegged by a massive pineapple and gaped beyond any comprehendible means à la Goatse or 1Man1Jar. The score to said act could be composed by This Will Destroy You.

    1. Look up the boxer Jack Johnson for the inspiration for the name. Just checked out that song and god damn, that's unfortunate. Song blows, band blows.

    2. Not witty, necessary. Pretty much every other variation of the name was taken.

    3. Present this pineapple and maybe we can get cracking.
