Btw, I just got done with the first half and it sounds great.

"Just Exist" sounds close to the recording, same with "Gravity, Metaphorically".

Sounds like they're awesome live.

EDIT: might just be me, but it does sound a little low as the songs are playing.

Don't know exactly how to explain it. Don't want to say bad quality, but....low.

 

The record was cut more quietly at 45 RPM as to get the best sounding record possible.  First run was cut at a standard volume and 33 RPM and was quickly rejected due to a ton of distortion.  We cut a test lacquer at 45 RPM at a lower volume and it greatly improved the sound quality.  This was the obvious, and correct move.

Did you guys get shipping confirmations or did the records just start showing up? I chose media mail and haven't received anything other than the download code.

My chance on limited vinyl was much higher as preorders wouldn't go up in the middle of the night. ;-)

 

Preorders go up in sync with iTunes preorders, which go up at Midnight EST. 

Just woke up and picked up the green/black..don't really like white vinyl and this fits the artwork way better. A+ DW! I also dig that you now offer DHL shipping for international orders. Didn't took it right now as USPS is cheaper for one LP but will definitely use this in the future.

Although you guys should consider opening a euro store or something.

 

Euro store?  Yeah sure, one day, maybe.  It's a whole big undertaking, and with merch and ltd vinyl, and shipping, and adjusting prices, etc...  who knows, could be saving just a couple twotree bucks on some shipping, but over all just not be something... I dunno.  WHAASSSSUUPPPP????  DHL is awesome.  Customs is a breeze and takes 2-3 days.

 

Color vinyl on this... well... there's not a lot of colors within the artwork to choose from, so you gotta do what you gotta do...

Does Deathwish usually send an email when they ship your package? I ordered a new copy of Sailing the Seas... by Primus from Amazon, fulfilled by Newbury Comics.

It was the new deluxe version, and of course, like everyone else, I was hoping to get the yellow cheese vinyl (but not holding my breath on that). This was my favorite album when I was 14, and it always brings back great memories. Don't own a copy of it currently.

Well, it came in the mail and it had about a 1 inch slit along the side. Just enough for someone to possibly pry open with some tweezers and take a peak at the color of the vinyl. In fact, as I opened it up and took the record out, the inside protective sleeve had a little tear in it level with where the 1 inch slit was.

Of course, this isn't something I could in any way prove, but I do not think I'm being paranoid here. I'm pretty sure someone checked the color very slyly. If it weren't for the rip on the protective sleeve, I probably would have thought I was being paranoid.

Anyway, it pissed me off. I would have been happy to have lucked out and received a yellow vinyl copy, but wasn't expecting it. So being on black wasn't a big deal to me. But someone at Newbury is a complete asshole.

I used to do this all the time at Newbury when I was younger. So it easily could have been a customer as I know they move stock around from store to warehouse etc.

Just sayin.
