i heard about this on the leaky pipe website a couple weeks ago.  so far they are 2 for 2 on announcing these lps a couple weeks early.  im gonna have to start to keep an eye on that site more often.

nice.  i always wonder how many fans are like me and buy all variants of their favorite bands vinyl.  it has to be a small percent overall.

alternative artwork has been increasing in releases lately, in addition to exclusive color variants.  looking at discogs this release has like 5 different album covers.

how about some of the more underground stuff like:

*fall is coming - wet leaves are dangerous

*the candy factory - sweet dreams

*the valentines - candy hearts

anyone find it strange that the used have not mention this release yet.  its been on indie sites for almost a month now.  i also see its listed as a self released album which is strange because i thought reprise owned this music still.  but the 7-15 release date kicks off with their tour this year which i think is prob just a coincidence.

shouldnt this have just been 2 12inchers w. the 2nd LP being demos of the entire album instead of just a couple?

also i lost track of how many  colors this has... not sure why the topic creator like many others do not do their job after creating the topic to constantly update it with all colors, numbers, and links to where to buy.

their first album was sooooooo good.  i loved it so such as a 13 y/o when it came out.  also enjoyed their 2nd album.  but by album 3 i think i only remember a single or 2 and lost track of the band after that.

lets try to figure this out... take a look at the hype sticker in the picture, it says

"20th anniversary edition, with bonus track just a little, indie exclusive limited to 5000"

...so that reads like the release itself is the indie exclusive as it does not say indie exclusive colorway.  so these 5,000 copies may really be all there is and there may not be any other colorways.  that would make some sense since it is listed as an rsd essential which looking at others rsde that were released do not seem to have other variants released at the same time.

my first thought was that this is just a indie colorway and there will probably be others like from the used webstore and general retail stores.  but this being listed as an rsd essential confuses me because i cant get a clean answer on what that means and the more research i try to do on it, the more confused i get. 

i cant figure out if these 5,000 are all there is or these 5,000 are just of this colorway.  looking at other releases called rsd essentials, it seems there is only 1 release but i cant imagine them making only 5,000 of these because its not just a simple repress as a different colorway.  its a new 20th anniversary edition with bonus track (so new plates probably were made to press this, or at least the side D plate) and it shows additional inner artwork/new picture sleeves.  so it seems too special to just do 5,000 indie copies.  but this was up on indie sites for like 5 days now and the used have not made any announcements.  the whole thing is just really confusing but i guess we will find out soon enough.

im not sure why you cant do a simple explanation when something is this confusing.  from what im seeing there is rsd essential and indie colorway,  and that is what the confusion is from. 

if an RSD essential just like an RSD release (limited number, exclusive color, indie only) but released any day of the year instead of on RSD itself then ok i got it. 

but calling some rsd essentials indie colorway exclusives is confusing.  almost all vinyl these days have indie exclusive colorways so if this is just the indie colorway and they will be maybe releasing other colorways thru their webstore and general retail then why is it listed rsd esstentials?

ok.  its confusing to figure out because the rsd site lists this on 'rsd esstentials' page.  but there is a website just for rsd essentials but that site has 2 lists and calls some releases 'rsd essentials' and other releases "indie colorways" and this is listed on the colorways page.

some sites are calling it an rsd essential indie colorway exclusive too to add to the confusion.

because i tried looking it up and only found something like its a record that is recommended to have in your collection.

very nice.  i assume the announcement from the used will come any day now.  the listing is calling it the 20th anniversary edition and including the b-side 'just a little' and looks like the art on the inside is different or maybe just has an extra insert for the 20thAE.  at least 5,000 copies pressed so they realize how many people want this and even that is low for this album.  also listed as an indie exclusive color so maybe there will be more?   it will also be withing just a couple weeks of being 20 years to the day that they first released it.  now this is vinyl done the correct way!

update:  these were suppose to ship next week but are now delayed until the end of april.

surprised they didnt release each song on its on LP for this 😂

there are maybe 25 vinyl factories in the USA and they are all booked up and have a backlog of orders to press.  when a band wants a vinyl pressed then its probably gonna be about 6 months until its ready to be shipped.

its a little strange they only did 1,000.  i know they could easily add some variants leading to release day but it only went up friday and half of them are gone so by the end of the month they will very likely be sold out.  then will they add another?  thats what they did with the original release but that also had retail and indie variants.
