My dad (grew up in the Bay Area, lived in Palo Alto during the Stanford (Marino-Montana Super Bowl) ALWAYS does that with me. Yeah apparently most teams do this. When you consider how many seats are left after the season ticket holders for most of these fan bases get first pick you're probably talking about fewer tickets than are on the resale market
