definitely. i forget exactly when i joined but it was maybe a year before shit hit the fan with virgil. i think a lot of the stuff people liked at that time is still here it's just been (heavily) diluted with more mainstream stuff (see: all the kanye et al threads in the main section). Not saying it's bad but it's definitely changed IMO.

i'm gonna go out on a limb and posit that maybe people are shitting on ICP not only because they're objectively horrible, but also because this was up until recently a very punk/poppunk/indie/hardcore focused board. it's become less focused on that which is why i pay less attention to it now, but that's just me. anyway my point is you shouldn't be that surprised to see people shit all over this band (that is a member of none of those genres) on this particular forum

 

if it makes a difference, i hated yeezus too

edit: just checked the kindsroad order and it was shipped two days ago, the tracking number is there too. mine is still in california.

I got a ticket to this show and am devastated that i can't make it, though i can't complain too much as i'm going on a cruise instead (first world problems right?) 

 

anyway it cost $23.50 and i'm looking to sell it for that, or if anyone wants to trade records for it i'd be very open to that too.

seventeener followed by beautiful things is the best one two punch of songs i've heard in a very long time. this record is phenomenal. 

following their facebook it seems like the bombpops are recording again, i figured it might come out on RS but i guess not? either way i'm stoked to hear more from them.

 

i have one question - when you put out the menzingers 7 inch before on the impossible past, was there ever talk of putting great apes and shiny stones on it? not complaining but it would have been cool to have that as the B side

you know what red scare band is underrated? the bombpops. both those EPs are so good.

even reading they almost broke up bums me out. i will probably cry if they do. while he does say ryan adams couldn't have written heartbreaker with whiskeytown he follows that up right away saying "but i know i can do what i want with these guys" so i'm not worried for the immediate future. when i saw them on stage last year he looked like he was having as much fun as i've ever seen him have.

 

that being said - it sounds like no brian solo record? i'm pretty okay with this if it means more gaslight.

if anyone gets this and doesn't want it, i'll take it off your hands!

EDIT: I just bought one for $45 on Discogs. I know that was overpriced, but only $15 more than most record stores were selling them for.

 

that's not bad, they're already going for the guys of $100 on ebay

I will also check for that tomorrow when I make another run.  I know I saw that sitting on the shelf when I left there.  It wasn't more than 1 or 2 copies but I know it was there.

i dont know why amazon says may 7...the pressing should be in stores on record store day, maybe amazon just isn't shipping til the 7th for some reason. i'm checking my record store first and if i can't find it i'll do amazon, i've wanted it on vinyl forever

cool, should be a good time. lineup isn't as stellar this year IMO, and definitely not as good as the first year, but still fun.
