My memory failed me. Somebody asked him awhile ago and it wasn't that the label (I suppose that's who owns the rights) wouldn't let him, just that he had no control over what the label did. i asked leighton about it and he said he'd like it but he can't do anything since he doesn't own the stuff..Took the above from the "Releases I'd Like To See On Vinyl" thread.

I thought the issue was that nobody could wrestle the rights free from the label....

Kevin Devine was selling these at his show last night on brown. Also, I'll answer my own question. He mentioned the liner notes last night. He said they were written by him "and another guy" who I only assume is Jesse Lacey.
