  1. Do they cut using digital files or from a CD? I hate it when the plant asks for a CD of the master, which will only be 16 bit, when you have access to the 24 bit masters.
  2. Looking to get a copy of each of these Built to Spill LP's. I'd like to get the 2007 reissues if possible. I had them sitting in my Amazon wish list for a while, and just started listening to those two albums heavily again, only to find they're no longer available. PM me if you've got a copy of either Perfect from Now On, or Keep It Like a Secret and are willing to part with it. Thanks!
  3. Ordered a copy from Elusive Disc over the weekend. A few years ago I was trying to find a copy of the blue box on ebay for a decent price, but every time I bid on one, it went well over what I had to spend at the time. This is a little more expensive, but buying all the albums separately comes out to $350 as well, but you don't get the box or the 250+ hard back book either. Definitely going to enjoy the hell out of this set! I've always held off on trying to find them individually in good shape at used stores, knowing that some day they'd reissue them on vinyl.
  4. Glad to see some real metal getting recognition on here!
  5. Preorders are now avaialble for the 2xLP version of The Great Old Ones - Al Azif. You can order and stream the entire album here: http://www.antitheticrecords.com/shop/the-great-old-ones-al-azif-2xlp Hailing from France, The Great Old Ones set out to describe musically both the feeling contained in H.P. Lovecraft’s writings and their interest for extreme music. Their debut album Al Azif, recorded by Cyrille Gachet (Year Of No Light) and mastered by Alan Douches (Tombs, Mastodon, The Dillinger Escape Plan…), is 52 minutes of intense, dark and atmospheric music. Pressing info: 125 – Sea Blue & White Swirl 125 – Electric Blue w/ Black Splatter 250 – Black Track List: 1. Al Azif 2. Visions of R’lyeh 3. Jonas 4. Rue d’Auseil 5. The Truth 6. My Love for the Stars (Cthulhu Fhtagn)
  6. Got mine, and it came with these awesome seam splits and dents in the side and bottom since it was shipped with no padding and the vinyl inside the jacket. No luck getting a replacement jacket after asking nearly 2 months ago. Nice.
  7. The Wildernessking 2xLP's are now in stock. They look fantastic! Here's the final pressing info, and a photo with the full layout (Gatefold, insert, poster): 50 - Brown 100 - Black 150 - Green/Black Swirl You can order one here for the time being, we're putting the final touches on our new store and will be launching it next week. I'll update this post with the new link when the time comes! Also, listen to the full album here.
  8. Agreed that $27 is a little high for standard weight, and they probably pressed 1000-2000 or even more of these, since they don't list the quantity. That's what major labels do!
  9. I've had a couple packages that were shipped to Germany recently that took a couple months or more to arrive. Never used to have that problem. I had a paypal claim against me too, and with 1st Class International packages, you don't get proper tracking so it's hard to prove that the package was even shipped.
  10. I loved Red & Blue, but I really don't like any of the 3 new songs. I preordered the dark green deluxe, assuming they could do no wrong, but I'll be getting rid of my copy. I even tried to cancel my order w/ Relapse back on May 19, but was told "Sorry, your order is already processing and can not be canceled". I guess they don't know how to click the refund button in their paypal account.
  11. Ordered the Blue/White, glad that wasn't the rarest color or I would have missed it! Here's hoping that The Satellite Years can/will happen.
  12. Just wanted to let everyone know that all preorders for Gamma Knife have shipped! By the way, forgot to mention originally that the Black/100 copies are all hand numbered. They're half gone, so jump on them if you want one! Robo, I'll shoot you guys an email, of course you can get some!
  13. I was listening to this album the other day and thinking that it would be a good idea to press it. Glad you got it going man!

  15. After this contest is over, I will be giving away one more test press to someone that has preordered the vinyl version from our store. More on that to come later today/Monday.
  16. Hey everyone, just wanted to let you know that we're giving away a free test pressing for this album through a small contest on our facebook page. We're picking a winner this afternoon, so check it out if you're interested! https://www.facebook.com/AntitheticRecords
  17. Picked up a deluxe on dark green. So glad I saw this today! I would have been pissed if I missed out on the deluxe. I got the 3LP for Blue record, not realizing that it would sell for so much more than I paid. I'd never sell mine, but its good to know that it was a worth while investment. Love these guys!
  18. Just got some updates on the status of the vinyl. Records/Jackets have shipped and will be delivered this week. Labels arrived Friday at the pressing plant, and tests are approved so they'll be starting pressing this week as well! Should have the finished product in hand in about 3 weeks!
  19. Hey everyone, just wanted to let you know that the preorder for Kayo Dot's Gamma Knife 12" is now live in the Antithetic Records store. This album sees the band incorporating metal back into their sound for the first time since 2006! 20. Just wanted to let everyone know that we've extended the deadline for this to March 16th. We're just under 50% funded right now!
  21. I've got it posted on Forever Doomed, but haven't posted on Pure Stench yet. Thanks for the tip! Glad you like the album.
  22. So far, so good! Over 10% funded in the 1st day alone!!
  23. Wildernessking's "The Writing of Gods in the Sand" 2xLP is now in stock and shipping! We started a kickstarter for this way back in February, and it's finally here. Full layout below. Pressing info: 300Copies total 50 - Brown 100 - Black 150 - Green/Black Swirl Comes in a Gatefold with all new art exclusive to the vinyl release, with a 2 sided insert and 11x17 poster featuring the CD artwork by Rainbath Visual.
  24. Also some labels pay for recording time and mixing/mastering for their bands, which needs to be recouped somehow. Take Hydra Head for example, they support their bands and give them a budget for recording. Cave In isn't paying out of their own pocket to record these days. So to pay off those fees, you get a single LP that costs $22, even though they pressed over 1000 copies. The markup is huge, but they also operate out of a functioning office with staff to cover. A small label that one dude runs out of his house, pressing records for smaller bands that pay for recording and mixing/mastering themselves can afford to charge a lot less for their records, even if they are pressing small quantities. Some quick math, based on quotes from Pirates Press for a 180 gram 2xLP in a gatefold, pressing 300 copies vs 500 copies. 300 = $4,000 cost each = $13.33 500 = $4,700 cost each = $9.40 Yes, makes much more sense to press an extra 200 records for only $700 more, but not if they'll never sell. So, the 300 end up being priced at $20+ while the 500 can be $17+. Now those prices don't include anything else, like remastering for vinyl, shipping from the pressing plant, packing supplies, etc. All those factor into the price, just like a recording budget would.
  25. Good lord, did you guys see how long some of these songs are??? Maybe they planned on using this as torture for prisoners in the war, but since the troops are coming home, they decided to release it as music for people to buy?
