  1. Holy shit I'm listening to Rosetta now and the first two songs have been incredible.
  2. How about some song recommendations so I can make a mix at work today?
  3. Since it's more EP than LP, if it's under $15 I'd def eat that up.
  4. abovetheearth, I don't expect a song from each of those bands listed, but if u want to give me a top 5-10 I'll check out what I can. I have a Rhapsody trial ending in a few days so I need to get my money's worth (if any if that stuff is available on there).
  5. I know there is an "instrumental recommendation" thread out there but I just spent 5 min searching and couldn't find it. I've posted in it before so I know it exists. So whoever can find it, please post the link. But until then, I just want to post that Collapse Under the Empire is one of the best bands I've come across lately. "Shoulders and Giants" is incredible. As is their newest "Fragments of a Prayer". Anyone got any good instrumental recommendations? Possibly similar to C.U.T.E.? I already love the following as well... ITTCT Caspian Cloudkicker Gifts From Enola (although not really just instrumental at this point) Russian Circles Jakob Leech The End of the Ocean And lately I've listened to pg.lost's "Key" which is real solid.
  6. Gave them a listen (bandcamp), just not feeling this. I get an "underdeveloped ASIWYFA" vibe from them. I felt like none of their songs had any payoff. Can the 7" be streamed somewhere?
  7. I'll offer $3 to anyone with any GY!BE codes or Hammock's latest offering.
  8. Go check em out! ITTCT and End of the Ocean are all instrumental. Gifts From Enola is mostly instrumental but with some blended in vocals mixed in. GFE & ITTCT are heavier. EotO is more mellow.
  9. I really disliked A Healthy Fear at first. But then it became a top 2 release for me in 2012. Such an addicting album. So pumped to see them finally.
  10. Are playing a FREE show in Columbus, Ohio Saturday March 9. Sweet Mother of God. This could be one of my most anticipated shows ever. http://fb.me/2GazspKhw
  11. Pissed I missed the Sigur Ros code. Also, I couldn't get Japandroids. Those appear to be used up.
  12. I've only listened to a few GIAA songs but liked what I heard. If I like these bands, should I take the plunge on this album? Collapse Under the Empire If These Trees Could Talk Jakob Caspian Russian Circles I lean toward heavier/full-all encompassing sounding post-rock (as opposed to slower EITS stuff)
  13. *Murder By Death - Never heard of them before I saw them play at Strhessfest in Cleveland in 2003. "Those Who Left" was the song that really caught my attention. Purchased "Who Will Survive..." on CD not knowing the name of that song, & was bummed I guessed wrong. Didn't think too much of the CD at first, gave it a rest for a while, but then gave it another chance & it just clicked with me. I was hooked *Muse - Got into them casually after Absolution came out. Got into them a little more when Black Holes came out. Became a fanatic in 2009 after Resistance came out. Not because of the album itself, but more because my younger bro got really into them, and I surprised him with front row tickets to see them in Detroit for Christmas. But because of that, plus my wife's growing obsession, we started tapping into B-sides and pre-Absolution stuff finally, on top of watching endless live videos. I had seen them previously before and was blown away each time, but now I had a better knowledge of all of their material and it just became an all encompassing obsession between me, my wife, an my bro. It was fun counting down the days till that Detroit show ****I don't feel like typing giant stories for the last 3 so I'll keep it short... *Cloudkicker - Was listening to some Russian Circles on You Tube, and Cloudkicker was a random "recommended video" i checked out & was instantly hooked. *If These Trees Could Talk - Saw them open for Russian Circles. Was blown away & I've been obsessed ever since. Didn't even know they lived 20 minutes from me at first. So because of that, i get to see most of their shows in this area which I'm very grateful for. SIDE NOTE - I get to see them open for Caspian in March *Deftones/Thrice/& all the various post-rock I listen to now all tie for 5th (with the post-rock nod currently going to Gifts From Enola)
  14. Gifts From Enola - From Fathoms (half blue/half swamp green) make offer Thursday - War All of the Time (1st press, black) make offer Radiohead - Rocks Germany 2001 (live album, 2xLP, black) make offer Caspian - Waking Season (black) $27ppd Dustin Kensrue - Please Come Home (2nd press, blue) $15ppd
  15. i definitely saw vinyl at the BAM close to me well over 6 months ago.
  16. If some doofus buys that at that price, I'll immediately offer up my copy for the discounted price of $400ppd to anyone on this board.
  17. Damn, I'm glad I was bored at work the day the Crosses 10" went on sale on it's own online so I could snag it for $15
  18. They are far worse because you are surrounded by the clean smell of soap/shampoo and then when fart mixes with that, it's weird as hell. Such a strange phenomenon.
