  1. I feel for the dude from Rivalry. I've been the victim of forum bashing in the past and it sucks. There are a lot of whiny bitches on this site (thus my large negative karma). A lot of people complain about how records are packaged. I've heard "Not enough packaging!", "Too much packaging!"... Clearly there is not winning. I received four LPs from Rivalry and other than not getting a "friend press" (DAMN YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! j/k), I have no complaints. The records were packaged how I expect to receive records... in a record mailer. Yeah, there could have been poly bags, but it wouldn't kept any records from getting bent or split seams. Don't like bent corners? Don't buy mailorder! It's a risk you take in doing so and since it seems a lot of you will never be happy unless you receive your records encased in steel and handled with white gloves at a cost of $4 for shipping, you might be better off.
  2. What kind of turntable is it? Things to look at : Is the record player level? When was the last time you replaced your stylus? When was the last time you replaced belt stylus? Have you changed the tracking force?
  3. If I go by that definition then I got a ton. I guess I was just wondering about not for sale to the public pressings. Thats kinda what I always thought a private press was. I'm interested. What are records that are not for sale to the public? Like test presses? Like friend presses? Like "singles of the month" club presses? I'm not sure what you're referring to.
  4. That new one with the $400 BIN has the same pictures and description as the one selling for $464. Sketch to the max.
  5. I find it hard to believe in 12 years of record collecting you have a single privately pressed record. Definition from wikipedia: "Private Press is a term used in the field of book collecting to describe a printing press operated as an artistic or craft-based endeavor, rather than as a purely commercial venture. The term is also used in the record collecting field to describe records released in small runs by individuals, as opposed to records released by record labels." Most early punk records were "private press" records. Anyone can make a record. I'm sure everyone on this board has been in a band, or known a band, that pressed their own records. It's not exceedingly rare to find a "private press" record, nor is necessarily more valuable because of it. On eBay, a lot of people put "private press" in their titles to describe KBD type records. Whether or not people are searching that term, I wouldn't known. I would assume that most record collectors are not.
  6. I won a punk rock trivia contest at Revelation like 10 years ago and I still haven't gotten anything. Major bummer!
  7. I still don't get why RE is listing these on eBay rather than put them on their site.
  8. Glad to know he's a pervert... I mean... I'm glad he's trustworthy.
  9. Not sure if this is the right place for this, but has anyone traded with the user "thisisahiijack" before? My half of the trade was delivered 5 days ago, and despite messaging him, I haven't heard back from him yet.
  10. Smart man. "Trial" is one of the best records of all time.
  11. Sweet deal. If that GB record has blue writing on the front and you want to sell or trade it, let me know!
  12. I'm not sure why you're amused by him smoking while having "12XU" on his guitar. It isn't a straight edge slogan, it's a Wire song. The lyrics are as follows. Saw you in a mag, kissing a man Saw you in a mag, kissing a man Smoking a fag, kissing a man Saw you in a mag, kissing a man Saw you in a mag, kissing a man Saw you in a mag, kissing a man Smoking a fag, kissing a man Saw you in a mag, kissing a man I've got you in a corner I've got you in a corner I've got you in a corner I've got you in a corner oh no no no 1-2-X-U
  13. After months of availability, the Discbox looks to be finally sold out. eBay prices, watch out!
  14. Mine should be here on Friday, too. YAY for me!
  15. I ordered mine before this thread popped up. I'll be pissed if I get black.
  16. I got an update from RE saying they refunded my first erroneous order, but no word on when they're shipping the other.
  17. There is nothing rare or exceedingly valuable in those pictures. I'd assume he picked some of the better titles for the pictures and the rest if more filler. Not working th $1k in my opinion.
